The article comments on the integrationist vision of Mexican President Vicente Fox in 2001. Fox believes that a common market with the U.S., democracy and the rule of law will create space that is free and wealthy enough to accommodate all Americans' aspirations. Fox's integrationist vision has been welcomed by most of Latin America.
