The article offers information on autoimmune pancreatitis. Based on the article, the estimated prevalence of the disease in Italy and Japan is 6.0% and 4.6% respectively. Autoimmune pancreatitis is characterized by pancreatic swelling with narrowing of the pancreatic duct. It is said that patients suffering from autoimmune pancreatitis are often hospitalized for painless jaundice, while the other symptoms of the disease include mild abdominal pain and weight loss.
