Abstract

The article discusses how a spate of suicides is jeopardizing academic reforms at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea. Topics include an overview of KAIST and the reaction of KAIST President Suh Nam Pyo who has agreed to review his reform agenda, which is aimed at aggressively improving the educational quality at KAIST, following the suicide of four students and one professor.
