Japanese species of the genus Ulomorpha Osten Sacken, 1869 are revised and U. amamiana Kato & Kolcsár, sp. nov. and U. longipenis Kato & Kolcsár, sp. nov. are described. A key to the four Japanese species of the genus is provided, with images of habitus and wings, and drawings of their male terminalia. Japanese species of the genus Epiphragma Osten Sacken, 1860 are revised. Epiphragma amamiense sp. nov. is described, and E. gracilistylus Alexander, 1933 and E. kempi Brunetti, 1913 are recorded from Japan for the first time. It is revealed that records of E. evanescens Alexander, 1940 from Japan were based on misidentifications of E. gracilistylus and E. trichomerum Alexander, 1955. Therefore, a total of six species are recognized from Japan, and the previous records which based on misidentifications are corrected. The genera Ptycta Enderlein, 1925, and Copostigma Enderlein, 1903, are defined as a monophyletic complex based on the morphology of the male terminalia. Ptycta is redefined as those species of the Copostigma–Ptycta complex with forewing veins Rs+M fused for a short distance. Two new species of Ptycta from Japan are described, P. recava sp. nov. and P. johnsoni sp. nov., increasing the number of Japanese species to four, along with P. parvidentata Tsutsumi, 1964, and P. micromaculata Thornton, Lee, and Chui, 1972. The furva species group of the genus Nomada in Japan is taxonomically revised and the following three species are recognized: N. okubira Tsuneki, 1973, stat. nov., N. pulawskii Tsuneki, 1973, and N. taicho Tsuneki, 1973. Nomada okubira is raised to species rank, and N. etigonis Tsuneki, 1986, is synonymized under N. okubira. Detailed illustrations of male terminalia are provided for N. okubira and N. taicho. Japanese species of the subgenusCeranthiaRobineau-Desvoidy are revised. Five species are recognized in Japan, three of which are described as new to science:Siphona (Ceranthia) angusta,S. Japanese species of the genus Pygophora Schiner, 1868 are reviewed, with redescription of the following species: P. boninensis Snyder, 1965; P. confusa, 1915; P. immaculipennis Frey, 1917; P. lepidofera (Stein, 1915); P. longicornis (Stein, 1918); P. macularis (Wiedemann, 1830); P. maculipennis Stein, 1909; P. respondens (Walker, 1859); P. unicolor (Stein, 1920). New occurrence records are presented to P. macularis (Wiedemann, 1830), P. respondens (Walker, 1859), and P. unicolor (Stein, 1920). Pygophora trimaculata Karl, 1935 is excluded from Japanese species, as it had been based on a misidentification. The male and female terminalia are illustrated, and an identification key to the Japanese species is provided.
