Purpose: Tildrakizumab is a selective inhibitor of IL-23 approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in two dosages. We conducted a 16-week multicenter retrospective study to compare the effectiveness and safety of tildrakizumab 200 mg versus tildrakizumab 100 mg in patients with a high disease burden or high body weight., Materials and Methods: Our retrospective study included 134 patients treated with tildrakizumab 200 mg and 364 patients treated with tildrakizumab 100 mg from 28 Italian Dermatology Units affected by moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. The patients had a body weight above 90 kg or a high disease burden (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index [PASI] ≥ 16 or the involvement of difficult-to-treat areas). We evaluated the effectiveness of tildrakizumab at the week-16 visit in terms of PASI90, PASI100 and absolute PASI ≤ 2., Results: After 16 weeks of treatment with tildrakizumab 200 mg, PASI90 was reached by 57.5% of patients and PASI100 by 39.6% of patients. At the same time point, 34.3% and 24.2% of patients treated with tildrakizumab 100 mg achieved PASI90 and PASI100, respectively., Conclusions: Our data suggest that tildrakizumab 200 mg has better effectiveness than tildrakizumab 100 mg in patients with a body weight ≥ 90 kg and a high disease burden.

Objective: To estimate the incidence of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in patients with psoriasis who had received a continuous treatment with biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) compared with phototherapy.Methods: A retrospective non-randomised study involving patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, who were prescribed at least 5 years of bDMARDs or at least three narrow-band ultraviolet light B (nb-UVB) phototherapy courses, and did not have a diagnosis of PsA at enrolment. Development of PsA in each patient was assessed by a rheumatologist according to the Classification for Psoriatic Arthritis criteria. The annual and cumulative incidence rate of PsA was estimated by using an event per person-years analysis. Cox proportional hazards models were undertaken to assess the hazard risk (HR) of PsA after adjustment for confounders.Results: A total of 464 psoriatic patients (bDMARDs, n=234 and nb-UVB, n=230) were followed between January 2012 and September 2020 (corresponding to 1584 and 1478 person year of follow-up for the two groups, respectively). The annual incidence rate of PsA was 1.20 cases (95% CI 0.77 to 1.89) versus 2.17 cases (95% CI 1.53 to 3.06) per 100 patients/year in the bDMARDs versus phototherapy group, respectively (HR 0.29, 0.12-0.70; p=0.006). The variables independently associated with higher risk of PsA were older age (adjusted HR 1.04, 1.02-1.07), nail psoriasis (adjusted HR 3.15, 1.63-6.06) and psoriasis duration >10 years (adjusted HR 2.02, 1.09-3.76); notably, bDMARDs treatment was associated with a lower risk of incident PsA (adjusted HR 0.27, 0.11-0.66).Conclusions: bDMARDs treatment may delay or reduce the risk of incident PsA in patients with moderate-to-severe chronic plaque psoriasis. Background: Interleukin (IL) inhibitors achieve greater levels of efficacy than older systemic therapies. We calculated the number needed to treat (NNT) of ixekizumab compared with other IL inhibitors approved in Italy for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Methods: The clinical efficacy was evaluated in terms of NNT, based on the results of a recent network meta-analysis (NMA) by the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. The NMA investigated many systemic and biological treatments, but this analysis compared only the efficacy of the following IL inhibitors - brodalumab, guselkumab, ixekizumab, risankizumab, secukinumab, tildrakizumab and ustekinumab - for patients with moderate- to-severe plaque psoriasis. Drugs were compared and ranked according to effectiveness considering the PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) 90 score. Results: One-hundred and forty trials (51,749 patients) were included in the NMA. Considering the proportion of patients who achieve PASI90, ixekizumab showed the lowest NNT among all comparators (ixekizumab 2.01 [2.46-3.00]; risankizumab 2.05 [2.50-3-05]; guselkumab 2.16 [2.68-3.36]; secukinumab 2.40 [2.90-3.51]; brodalumab 2.61 [3.18-3.88]; ustekinumab 3.44 [4.12-4.95]; tildrakizumab 3.10 [4.15-5.59]. Introduction: The development of several effective biological drugs for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis has dramatically changed the lives of patients. Despite the wide use of interleukin (IL) inhibitors, limited data are available to date regarding long-term treatment persistence., Method: This multicenter retrospective real-world study evaluated 5932 treatment courses across 5300 patients, all treated with interleukin inhibitors. Drug survival was expressed by using the Kaplan-Meier estimator for each biological drug at 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 months. We also stratified by discontinuation associated with primary or secondary ineffectiveness., Results: In our study, the most prescribed drugs were secukinumab (1412), ixekizumab (1183), and risankizumab (977). After four years of follow-up, risankizumab emerged as the treatment with the highest drug survival overall, as 91.6% of patients were still on treatment. The overall probability of drug survival at four years was comparable for tildrakizumab (83.5%), ixekizumab (82.6%), guselkumab (82.4%) and brodalumab (81.8%). When evaluating only patients who discontinued the treatment because of ineffectiveness, once again risankizumab was the molecule with the highest drug survival at 4 years (93.4%), this time followed by ixekizumab (87%). Our study, in which all IL inhibitors were adequately represented, confirmed a slightly better treatment persistence for IL-23 inhibitors, consistent with other real-world studies., Conclusion: Our experience showed that IL-23 inhibitors, and risankizumab in particular, had a higher probability of drug survival overall during a 4-year follow-up. This article provides comprehensive recommendations for the systemic treatment of severe pediatric psoriasis based on evidence obtained from a systematic review of the literature and the consensus opinion of expert dermatologists and pediatricians. For each systemic treatment, the grade of recommendation (A, B, C) based on the treatment's approval by the European Medicines Agency for childhood psoriasis and the experts' opinions is discussed. The grade of recommendation for narrow-band-ultraviolet B phototherapy, cyclosporine, and retinoids is C, while that for methotrexate is C/B. The use of adalimumab, etanercept, and ustekinumab has a grade A recommendation. No conventional systemic treatments are approved for pediatric psoriasis. Adalimumab is approved by the European Medicines Agency as a first-line treatment for severe chronic plaque psoriasis in children (≥ 4 years old) and adolescents. Etanercept and ustekinumab are approved as second-line therapy in children ≥ 6 and ≥ 12 years, respectively.Conclusion: A treatment algorithm as well as practical tools (i.e., tabular summaries of differential diagnoses, treatment mechanism of actions, dosing regimens, control parameters) are provided to assist in therapeutic reasoning and decision-making for individual patients. These treatment recommendations are endorsed by major Italian Pediatric and Dermatology Societies. Psoriasis is a common disease, which has a considerable impact on the healthcare system. Therefore, appropriate use of therapeutic resources is very important. Management of psoriasis in daily clinical practice is highly variable because many issues are still debated and not definitely addressed by the evidence-based medicine. Moreover, the different availability and reimbursability of drugs in each country justifies national guidelines. Expert consensus can provide helpful guidelines for optimizing patient care. A total of 20 dermatologists from different areas of Italy and with large experience in the treatment of psoriasis agreed to participate in the guidelines expert panel who aimed to reach consensus on the factors influencing psoriasis severity, the indications for systemic treatments, the parameters to be considered in the choice of treatment, and the factors to be considered in the choice of biological treatment. The recommendations for the use, screening and monitoring of systemic therapies were based on the 2015 S3 European Dermatology Forum/European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology psoriasis guidelines. Recommendations on the treatment of psoriasis in special patient populations were also agreed. The final document was discussed in a meeting moderated by a facilitator with participation of the entire group and adopting a nominal group technique to reach consensus. Background: Current guidelines recommend the use of systemic therapy and phototherapy for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness, impact on health status perception, and costs of traditional systemic therapies and phototherapy in real-life patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis.Methods: Retrospective analysis of data from 100 psoriatic patients referring to a dermatology clinic in Italy and treated with traditional therapies.Results: Patients were predominantly treated with cyclosporine (72%). Cyclosporine was associated with fewer treatment discontinuations due to lack of efficacy (37%) compared with methotrexate (65%), acitretin (67%) and phototherapy (50%). Rates of treatment discontinuation due to adverse events were: cyclosporine (24%), methotrexate (9%), acitretin (25%) and phototherapy (0%). Improvements in PASI scores were comparable between treatments. The need for topical therapy was reduced with cyclosporine versus other therapies (35% vs 71%,p= 0.0009); respectively, 33% of patients treated with cyclosporine versus 14% of patients receiving other therapies perceived an improvement in their health status (p= 0.0018). Mean total per-patient direct costs of the first treatment cycle were higher with cyclosporine than with other therapies (€1812.85 vs €648.90,p < 0.0001).Conclusions: Cyclosporine was effective even if more expensive than other traditional therapies. Purpose: Patient-centered health care implies that medical decisions are made jointly by physician and patient, based on patient needs. Aims were to (a) identify treatment goals for a new questionnaire on patient needs and benefits in nail psoriasis treatment; (b) analyze the importance of treatment goals in patients with nail psoriasis in general and in defined subgroups; and (c) determine the association between overall treatment goal importance and quality of life.Methods: The study comprised the following steps: qualitative survey on needs and burdens in 120 patients; development of items by an interdisciplinary expert group; item testing in 55 patients in four countries; revision of the questionnaire and assessment in 203 patients in six countries (Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain, USA, Japan). The percentage of patients rating the goals as 'quite/very important' was compared between various patient subgroups.Results: Based on 692 free-text statements, 26 items were developed which were reduced to 24 items after pilot testing. Each of these treatment goals applied to the majority of patients in the multi-center study. Goal importance increased with severity of nail psoriasis, but not with age or disease duration. Manual dexterity and social interaction were of particular importance. Goal importance and quality of life were associated, but not redundant (r = 0.612, p < 0.001).Conclusions: Patients with nail psoriasis have manifold and specific treatment goals. Goal importance is a construct different from disease-specific quality of life and should be assessed separately. The new questionnaire can support goal setting in clinical practice. Objective Psoriasis is one of the most common forms of chronic dermatitis, affecting 2-3% of the worldwide population. It has a serious effect on the way patients perceive themselves and others, thereby prejudicing their quality of life and giving rise to a significant deterioration in their psycho-physical well-being; it also poses greater difficulties for them in leading a normal social life, including their ability to conduct a normal working life. All the above-mentioned issues imply a cost for the society. This study proposes to evaluate the impact on societal costs for the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis with biologics (etanercept, infliximab and adalimumab) in the Italian clinical practice. Method A prospective observational study has been conducted in 12 specialized centres of the Psocare network, located throughout Italy. Direct and indirect costs (as well as the health-related quality of life of patients with plaque psoriasis undergoing biologic treatments) have been estimated, while the societal impact has been determined using a cost-utility approach. Results Non-medical and indirect costs account for as much as 44.97% of the total cost prior to treatment and to 6.59% after treatment, with an overall 71.38% decrease. Adopting a societal perspective in the actual clinical practice of the Italian participating centres, the ICER of biologic therapies for treating plaque psoriasis amounted to €18634.40 per QALY gained - a value far from the €28656.30 obtained by adopting a third-party payer perspective. Conclusion Our study confirms that chronic psoriasis subjects patients to a considerable burden, together with their families and caregivers, stressing how important it is to take the societal perspective into consideration during the appraisal process. Background and Objectives: Biologic therapies are considered to be cost effective by leading Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies and, therefore, eligible for reimbursement by public health services. However, biologic therapies entail sizable incremental costs and, besides, have a considerable financial impact that in Italy amounts to 13.7 % of the national health service's pharmaceutical expenditure. In the reimbursability decision process, an important role is played by both the drug efficacy data observed in pre-licensing RCTs and the economic modelling assumptions, as they give evidence on cost effectiveness. The administration of therapies in real practice settings is likely to produce a significant deviation from the results predicted by the models, theoretically outweighing the assumption on which the decision process is founded. This is a matter of concern for public health services and, consequently, an interesting topic to investigate. Methods: To overcome the lack of knowledge concerning the actual cost effectiveness of biologic therapies for the treatment of plaque psoriasis in the clinical practice setting in Italy, an observational study was conducted in 12 specialist centres on patients switching to biologic therapy within a 6-month enrolment window. Results: The study confirms in clinical practice the efficacy of the switch to biologic therapies, analysed using a number of clinical [Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), pain visual analogue scale (VAS) and itching VAS] and quality-of-life parameters. A general health-related quality of life (HR-QOL) improvement, with a 0.23 quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) mean gain per patient, has been reported in the 6-month observation period. The direct medical costs to treat plaque psoriasis with biologic therapies amount to €15,073.7 per year (prior to their enrolment, the same patients cost €2,166.2 on an annual basis). After the switch to biologic agents, the cost per QALY during the first year of treatment amounts to €28,656.3. Conclusion: At least in the short-term, the clinical practice of the specialised Italian centres taking part in the study confirms that switching patients to a biologic drug produces an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio comparable with the values predicted by the HTA bodies. Psoriasis is considered to be an inflammatory autoimmune disease, where angiogenesis plays an undefined pathogenetic role. The well-known changes of the superficial microvasculature in the psoriatic plaque can be easily assessed in vivo by videocapillaroscopy. In the last years, several studies reported the clinical and capillaroscopic response of the psoriatic plaque during different topical and systemic treatments. In the present work we evaluated the effects of acitretin (0.8mg/kg/day) on videocapillaroscopic alterations and the clinical response in 11 patients affected by plaque psoriasis at the baseline (T0) and after 4 (T1), 8 (T2), and 12 (T3) weeks. A clinical improvement during the treatment with a complete clinical healing of the plaque in 7 of the 11 patients was observed. The typical "basket-weave" capillaries of the psoriatic lesions showed a reduction of 65.4% in diameter at the end of the study; only 3 patients returned to a normal capillaroscopic pattern. As observed during previous our studies, we found a discrepancy between clinical and capillaroscopic results,with a far greater improvement in the first than in the second. This finding could be in agreement with a secondary role of blood vessels in the pathogenesis and persistence of psoriatic lesions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To evaluate variations in laboratory parameters and diagnoses of selected clinical conditions up to 16 weeks after starting a new systemic psoriasis treatment for Psocare Registry enrollees. Design Prospective cohort study. Setting Italian public referral centres for psoriasis treatment. Patients First-time recipients ( n = 10,539) of continuous systemic psoriasis treatment for at least 16 weeks. Main outcome measure Mean variations in (weeks 8 and 16) and proportions of patients reaching a clinically meaningful increase in serum levels (week 16) of total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, aspartate amino transferase, alanine amino transferase and creatinine, as well as week-16 cumulative incidences of new diagnoses of diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension. Results Mean cholesterol and triglyceride levels significantly increased in patients treated with acitretin or cyclosporine. Mean triglyceride levels also increased in efalizumab- and etanercept-treated patients. Mean transaminase values increased in methotrexate-treated patients, and mean aspartate amino transferase levels increased in infliximab-treated patients. The average serum creatinine value increased in cyclosporine-treated patients. Acitretin and cyclosporine were associated with risk of hypercholesterolaemia (odds ratios 1.51 and 1.34) and acitretin with risk of hypertriglyceridaemia (odds ratio 1.43). Methotrexate and infliximab were associated with risk of more than doubling the upper normal aspartate amino transferase (odds ratios 2.06 and 1.87) and alanine amino transferase (odds ratios 2.38 and 1.74) values. The relative risk of developing arterial hypertension and diabetes was increased for patients receiving cyclosporine (odds ratios 3.31 and 2.88). Etanercept is a dimeric fusion protein consisting of the extracellular portion of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) p75 receptor and human IgG1 Fc fragment, which, similarly to the physiological soluble TNF receptor, is capable of binding TNF-α and lymphotoxin. The mechanism of action of etanercept in psoriatic disease and other approved indications is mediated by the neutralization of soluble TNF-α leading to a modulation of the immune response. Clinical trials have provided robust evidence supporting the sustained efficacy and safety of etanercept in psoriasis, as both intermittent and continuous therapy. The aim of this manuscript was to review the efficacy profile of etanercept in psoriasis according to the clinical experience gained by Italian dermatological centers and derived from the available publications on this topic. Background Patient adherence is a key element for therapeutic success and represents a major concern for all healthcare professionals. Objective Aim of our study was to assess the frequency of use of treatments currently available for psoriasis and its association with specific socio-demographical and clinical variables. Methods The study population consisted of 1689 patients, aged 12-85 years. Information concerning socio-demographical variables, clinical features and the type of current treatment was collected. Items on patients' satisfaction of current treatments and of dermatologist-patient relationship were also included. The chi-squared test was used to estimate the association between the categorical variables, whereas Wilcoxon and Kruskal-Wallis tests were applied to the interval and ordinal variables. The Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel chi-squared trend test was used to evaluate the degree of satisfaction related to dermatologist-patient relationship. Results Of the 1689 psoriatic patients, 54.1% did not use any treatments and 45.9% used at least one treatment. The use of drugs was significantly associated exclusively to severity of disease and affected body surface area. Systemic therapies, both traditional treatments and biological agents, were mainly used in patients with disease duration >10 years and disease severity. Treatment adherence was significantly associated to the degree of patient's satisfaction of his/her relationship with the dermatologist. Alternative treatment such as over the counter medications and acupuncture were used by 33% of patients. Conclusion The majority of psoriatic patients do not use any treatments. Background: Conventional antipsoriatic therapies are often administered until remission, with treatment resumed in the case of relapse, in order to reduce the likelihood of cumulative, dose-dependent toxicities. Biological agents have been safely used in continuous therapy. Objective: To assess the use of etanercept for psoriasis in clinical practice in Italy. Methods: This was an observational study carried out in 13 dermatological centres across Italy in patients with plaque psoriasis (with a Psoriasis Area and Severity Index [PASI] score ≥10) treated with etanercept. The study comprised a treatment and subsequent discontinuation period. Patients were eligible if they had plaque psoriasis and had begun treatment with etanercept between 1 September 2007 and 1 April 2008. Patients were evaluable for the duration of discontinuation analysis if they achieved a PASI reduction ≥50% (PASI50) and a PASI score <10 at the end of treatment. Etanercept treatment was restarted if the PASI score reached ≥10 or the patient had a clinical relapse. Data were collected retrospectively up to June 2008 and prospectively between July 2008 and January 2009. Patients received etanercept during the treatment period, followed by no etanercept treatment (other psoriasis treatment permitted) during the discontinuation period, and etanercept again during re-treatment. The main outcome measures were: PASI scores (type A responders: PASI reduction ≥75% [PASI75]; type B responders: PASI50 and PASI final score <10), Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores and body surface area (BSA) involvement. Time from discontinuation to retreatment was evaluated. Use of other antipsoriatic medications was recorded throughout. Results: Eighty-five patients were evaluable for the treatment period. Overall, 55 (64.7%) of these patients were prescribed etanercept 50mg twice weekly. The mean treatment duration was approximately 25 weeks. In total, 79 patients (92.9%) were considered type B responders and 77 of these patients were evaluable for the duration of discontinuation analysis. Overall, 68/85 (80%) were type A responders. During the treatment period, 7/85 (8.2%) patients received other antipsoriatic therapies. Improvements in mean DLQI score (-71.5%) and mean BSA involvement (-79.2%) were also observed. Etanercept was well tolerated. During the discontinuation period, 40/77 (51.9%) patients used other antipsoriatic medications (group 1) and 37/77 (48.1%) did not (group 2). The mean duration of discontinuation was significantly longer in group 1 (174 days) than in group 2 (117 days, log-rank test: p = 0.0013). Conclusion: In clinical practice, the duration of discontinuation from etanercept was in accordance with previously reported data, and was longer in patients who received other antipsoriatic drugs during discontinuation of etanercept than in those who did not. High rates of PASI50 and PASI75 response were obtained with etanercept, and these rates were higher than those observed in controlled clinical studies. The cost-effectiveness of biological treatments for psoriasis is not well determined and may vary from country to country. The objectives of this study was to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis of infliximab compared with other anti-tumor necrosis factor-α agents for the treatment of psoriasis in Italy. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio per patients achieving at least 75% improvement in the psoriasis area and severity index assessed over 24- and 48–50-week periods was calculated. Efficacy data were drawn from randomized controlled trials when available or from open label studies. Considering patients achieving psoriasis area and severity index at week 24 and 48–50, infliximab was dominant (more effective and less costly) over etanercept given at 50 mg twice weekly. In contrast, infliximab was not dominant over etanercept at other dosages or over adalimumab. When considering the impact of therapy on quality of life at Week 12 using the Dermatology Life Quality Index equal to zero, infliximab resulted more effective and less costly than etanercept. Therefore, infliximab seems to be cost-effective in the therapy of psoriasis. Further cost-efficacy evaluations based on head-to-head trials are necessary to address health economic considerations. Background: Etanercept is a human recombinant protein that functions as a competitive inhibitor of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), a pro-inflammatory molecule exerting a key role in the pathogenesis of psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Methods: Seventy-one patients affected by PsA with variable skin involvement, refractory to conventional anti-rheumatic drugs, were treated with 50 mg etanercept subcutaneous injections twice-weekly for 12 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose regimen of 25 mg twice-weekly for an additional 12 weeks. Efficacy and safety were assessed at 12-24 weeks. Efficacy criteria was the global assessment of a patient's joint symptoms expressed by the Ritchie index (RI), while skin symptoms were assessed by the psoriasis area and severity index (PASI). The impact of etanercept on patients' quality of life (QoL) was measured by four validated QoL instruments. Results: At week 12, all patients showed a reduction of symptoms with improvement of mean RI (mRI) of 66.1% from baseline and a reduction of mean PASI (mPASI) from 8.8 to 3.2. At week 24, there was a mRI reduction of 78.4% as well as a mPASI reduction to 1.7. Psoriasis-specific QoL measures improved throughout therapy. Conclusions: A high-dose regimen of etanercept is a highly effective and tolerable treatment for PsA with variable skin involvement, although a larger study population group and a longer trial would be needed to draw strong conclusions about the safety of the higher dose. AbstractThe objective of this study was to assess the cost of caring for patients with psoriasis in Italy according to the AISP study (Associazione Italiana Studi Psoriasi or Italian Association for Studies on Psoriasis), involving 104 university and hospital centres and 7992 patients in 1994. The mean yearly cost of care for a single patient was calculated at 905 Euros. Hospitalization accounted for more than four-fifths of the costs, therapy for about one-eighth (systemic therapies were the most expensive) and office visits and day hospitals for the remainder. A 67-year-old woman was referred to our Department in January 1997 with an isomorphic Koebner response due to mesotherapy. The patient has been affected by psoriasis for 10 years and underwent treatment with Cyclosporine A (4–2 mg/kg/day for 12 weeks) 2 years earlier. Since the previous year plaques were treated only with topical preparations, with mild worsening over the autumn. In December 1996 a single mesotherapy was erroneously performed with a cocktail of aminophilline, xantinol nicotinate and lidocaine to treat a left neuralgic sciatica. Two weeks later typical circular psoriatic lesions appeared on the left thigh in the injection's sites (Fig. 1). At the same time, psoriasis worsened on the scalp, trunk, and limbs, while pustular lesions appeared on the palms and soles. The patient was admitted to our Department and underwent treatment with Cyclosporine A with a rapid response (4 mg/kg/day in divided doses for 3 weeks reduced gradually to 2 mg/kg/day and stopped after 14 weeks). The allergen-specific IgE antibody was determined in 20 men and 120 women with psoriasis and the results were correlated with a history of current and previous allergic disease. Allergic disease was reported in 21 % of the patients, but a positive RAST test was obtained in 44 %. In chronic plaque-type psoriasis a positive RAST test was significantly more common (58 %) than in active psoriasis (22 %). Grass pollen and house dust mite were the most prevalent sensitizing allergens, with frequencies of 64 % and 53 % , respectively in the sensitized subjects. Sensitization increased with age and polysensitization was common. Contact dermatitis was verified with patch tests in 12 men and 20 woman, of whom 10 had chronic plaque-type psoriasis and 22 active psoriasis. Tar, nickel sulphate, corticosteroid mixture and thiomersal were the most common allergens. No irritant reactions were seen at the concentrations used.
