Three different approaches to the evaluation of higher education in European and Scandinavian countries are examined: evaluation of a single discipline across institutions (Finland, Norway, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, northern Germany); evaluation of several disciplines within certain institutions (France, Germany); and internal evaluation of courses and programs (Italy). The article offers information on proposal to conserve the name Littaea geminiflora against Yucca boscii. The Mexican plant named Littaea geminiflora was one of several specimens of Agave introduced to Italy at the end of the 18th century. The conservation on Littaea geminiflora has been proposed considering the long-established use of the name Agave geminiflora, in both the literature and horticultural trade.
