Background: Data about the risk of recurrence of vacuum extraction (VE) in multiple consecutive deliveries are scarce. We aimed to evaluate the pattern and individual cumulative risk of recurrence of VE in consecutive term deliveries. Study Design: A retrospective cohort study based on a validated electronic database at a single center between 2005 and 2019. For the purpose of the study, we focused on consecutive term deliveries of all primiparas (P1) that had a record of at least one additional delivery during the study period. We identified P1 VE deliveries (reference group) and calculated the individual cumulative risk of repeated VE for three consecutive deliveries. Multivariate analysis was conducted adjusting for potential confounders. Results: We identified 35 113 primiparas that met inclusion criteria. The overall VE rate for P1 was 17.9% (6969 parturient). The cumulative rates of repeated VEs at the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th deliveries were 8.6%, 26.8%, and 25.0%, respectively. The risk of recurrent VE for each of the consecutive deliveries was confirmed after adjustment for confounders (aOR [95% CI]: 5.8 [4.76‐7.04], 34.2 [18.59‐62.81], and 113.9 [9.77‐1328.69] for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th consecutive deliveries, respectively). Conclusion: Women with VE at the first and second deliveries have a substantially increased risk of VE in their following deliveries; this finding may influence woman's preference when choosing future mode of delivery. Objective: Published series regarding interventions for facilitating external cephalic version (ECV) have concluded that parenterally administered beta-stimulant tocolytics, increased ECV success rate and reduced the number of cesarean sections. However, there were insufficient data regarding calcium channel blockers to provide good evidence regarding its efficacy. Given the paucity of literature, we aimed to compare the efficacy of nifedipine to that of ritodrine on ECV success rates.Methods: This is a retrospective case control study of prospectively collected data of patients who underwent ECV between January 2012 and December 2013 at Bikur Cholim Medical Center and Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. Patient undergoing ECV with tocolysis by ritodrine were compared with those using nifedipine as tocolysis. Patients were matched in a one-to-one ration by parity and placental location.Results: Overall, 148 women received ritodrine and 148 women received nifedipine before ECV procedure. Overall success rate was higher among the ritodrine group (82.4 vs. 63.5%, p < .001). Among nulliparous and among parous, success rate was higher in the ritodrine group (78.9 vs. 57.9 and 88.6 vs. 73.5%, p = .001, p = .04, respectively). Vaginal delivery rate was higher among the ritodrine group (86.5 vs. 68.9%, p < .001). Cesarean delivery rate was 31.1% for the nifedipine group versus 13.5% in the ritodrine group (p < .001). Number needed to treat to benefit (NNTb) 5.7 (95% confidence interval 3.7-12.1). Overall, 216 of 296 (72.9%) of ECV were successful. Ritodrine was associated with higher success rates as compared with nifedipine (56.5 vs. 32.5%, p < .001). In a multivariate analysis, ritodrine tocolytic therapy was independently associated higher ECV success rates as compared to nifedipine (OR 4.54, 95% CI 2.38-9.09). Higher amniotic fluid index (OR 1.16, 95% CI 1.05-1.28) and nulliparity (OR 0.16, 95% CI 0.08-0.30) were additional independent predictors of ECV outcome.Conclusion: Ritodrine significantly improve the success of ECV compared with nifedipine. Key Message: Among SARS-CoV-2-infected mothers, vaginal delivery rates were high and associated with favorable outcomes with no cases of neonatal COVID-19.Purpose: To investigate the mode of delivery and its impact on immediate neonatal outcome in SARS-CoV-2-infected women.Methods: A prospective study following pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19 who delivered between March 15th and July 4th in seven university affiliated hospitals in Israel.Results: A total of 52 women with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 delivered in the participating centers during the study period. The median gestational age at the time of delivery was 38 weeks, with 16 (30.8%) cases complicated by spontaneous preterm birth. Forty-three women (82.7%) underwent a trial of labor. The remaining 9 women underwent pre-labor cesarean delivery mostly due to obstetric indications, whereas one woman with a critical COVID-19 course underwent urgent cesarean delivery due to maternal deterioration. Among those who underwent a trial of labor (n = 43), 39 (90.7%) delivered vaginally, whereas 4 (9.3%) cases resulted in cesarean delivery. Neonatal RT-PCR nasopharyngeal swabs tested negative in all cases, and none of the infants developed pneumonia. No maternal and neonatal deaths were encountered.Conclusions: In this prospective study among SARS-CoV-2-infected mothers, vaginal delivery rates were high and associated with favorable outcomes with no cases of neonatal COVID-19. Our findings underscore that delivery management among SARS-CoV-2-infected mothers should be based on obstetric indications and may potentially reduce the high rates of cesarean delivery previously reported in this setting. The aim of this study was to compare the success rate of methotrexate (MTX) treatment in patients with recurrent ectopic pregnancy (REP) and primary EP (PEP). A retrospective cohort study. The study cohort comprised all patients diagnosed with an EP and treated by intention with single-dose regimen of intramuscular MTX in a tertiary medical centre during 2010-2018. Cases (REP) and controls (PEP) were compared.262 patients had PEP and 32 had a REP. Women with REP had significantly higher gravidity order and higher incidence of previous abortions (5 vs. 3, median, p < .001, 59.3% vs. 32.8%, p < .001, respectively). Women with REP had a higher proportion of a history of previous surgery in general, and specifically pelvic surgery (46.8% vs. 20.6%, p < .001, 24.4% vs. 7.2%, p < .001, respectively). Treatment success was lower in the REP group (40.6% vs. 66.4%, p = .006, Odds ratio 0.34, 95% confidence interval 0.16, 0.73). In a logistic regression analysis, the only factor found to be independently associated with treatment failure was REP (adjusted odds ratio 0.30, 95% confidence interval 0.12, 0.77, p = .01). Our study suggests that medical treatment success with a single-dose regimen of MTX is lower than expected among REP cases, suggesting that different treatment approach should be considered in this setting.Impact statementWhat is already known on this subject ? Background: External cephalic version (ECV) should be offered for patients presenting with a noncephalic pregnancy that are willing to deliver vaginally. Various reports have evaluated predictors for successful ECV. Yet, none have reported a single‐operator large cohort experience. We aim to analyze the outcome of referrals for ECV. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of prospectively collected data. We performed a multivariate analysis of data with respect to ECV procedures performed by a single operator in a 6‐year period. Maternal and fetal characteristics were compared between ECV success and failure groups. Results: Six hundred and two women underwent ECV. Of them, ECV was successful in 432 (71.7%). A multivariate binary logistic regression model demonstrated that high liquor volume was a predictor of ECV success (Adj OR 1.17 [95% CI 1.09‐1.26]). Failure of ECV was correlated with anterior placenta (0.44 [0.56‐0.76]) and nulliparity (0.21 [0.11‐0.36]). Adverse events were rare and mostly minor, occurring in 1% of procedures. Conclusions: ECV has a high success rate and a low complication rate, enabling vaginal birth and avoiding cesarean. Background: Candidates for trial of labor after cesarean must be carefully screened to maximize success and minimize morbidity. Demographic and obstetric characteristics affecting success rates must be delineated.Objective: We examined whether the labor stage of the primary delivery in which a woman underwent an unplanned cesarean delivery would affect the likelihood that she could achieve a subsequent vaginal birth.Study Design: Electronic medical records-based study of 676 parturients. Trial of labor rates and outcomes were compared between women whose primary cesarean delivery was performed in the first vs. the second stage of labor.Setting: Hadassah Medical Center, Israel POPULATION: Women in their second pregnancies, with singleton fetuses, who underwent unplanned cesarean delivery in their first pregnancy and elected trial of labor in the second delivery. The main outcome measures were maternal and neonatal complications and vaginal birth rates in first vs. second stage of labor groups.Results: In our population, 76 % of women attempt trial of labor after cesarean. Rates of successful vaginal delivery did not differ significantly between those who underwent primary cesarean in the first vs. second stage of labor: 67.4 % vs. 70.2 %, p = 0.483, respectively. Among women whose primary UCD was in the second stage, only 18.2 % (35/192) required a UCD in the second stage in the subsequent delivery, while 58.9 % (113/192) underwent UCD in the first stage in both deliveries.Conclusion: Labor stage of the primary unplanned cesarean delivery, should not dissuade women from a trial of labor after cesarean in their second delivery. Purpose: Although shoulder dystocia (ShD) is associated with fetal macrosomia and vacuum-assisted delivery (VAD), the independent role of the latter in the occurrence of ShD is yet to be completely elucidated, as it is difficult to study its true independent contribution to ShD formation in the presence of many confounding factors. Therefore, we aimed to study whether VAD is independently associated with an increased risk for ShD among macrosomic newborns., Methods: A retrospective cohort study from a single tertiary medical center including all women who delivered vaginally a macrosomic infant during 2011-2020. We allocated the study cohort into two groups: (1) VAD (2) spontaneous vaginal deliverys, and analyzed risk factors for ShD. A multivariate regression analysis was performed to identify determinants independently associated with ShD occurrence., Results: Of 2,664 deliveries who met the study inclusion criteria, 118 (4.4%) were VAD. The rate of ShD in the entire cohort was 108/2664 (4.1%). The following factors were more frequent among the VAD group: no previous vaginal delivery [odds ratio (OR) 2.4 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.4-4.0, p < 0.001)], prolonged second stage (OR 11.9; 95% CI 8.1-17.6, p < 0.01), induction of labor (OR 2.4; 95% CI 1.5-3.8, p < 0.01) and ShD (OR 2.0; 95% CI 1.0-4.1, p = 0.04). ShD was associated with higher rates of maternal height < 160 cm (OR 2.0; 95% CI 1.3-3.1, p < 0.01), pregestational diabetes (OR 7.2; 95% CI 2.0-26.8, p = 0.01), hypertensive disorder (OR 2.6; 95% CI 1.1-6.2, p = 0.02) and higher birthweight (mean 4,124 vs. 4,167 g, p < 0.01). On multivariate regression analysis, the following factors remained independently associated with ShD occurrence: increased birthweight (aOR 1.0; 95% CI 1.0-1.0, p < 0.01), pregestational diabetes (aOR 5.3; 95% CI 1.1-25.0, p = 0.03), while maternal height was negatively associated with ShD (aOR 0.9; 95% CI 0.9-0.9, p < 0.01)., Conclusion: In deliveries of neonates above 4000 g, VAD did not independently increase the risk of ShD occurrence. Therefore, when expeditious delivery of a macrosomic infant is required, VAD is a viable option.

The widespread use of tampons carries a risk of tampon loss due to imperfect use. We performed a retrospective study including all women attending the emergency room (ER) with the complaint of tampon loss during 2011-2018. Overall, 72 women presented to the ER with a complaint of tampon loss. In 25% (18/72), a lost tampon was found on physical examination. The lost tampon was found in a higher rate among adolescents as compared to older women (4 (80%) vs. 14 (21%), 15.1, p  = .01). Time from tampon loss to referral for evaluation was shorter among adolescents as compared to older women (7 ± 3 vs. 21 ± 21 h, p  = .007). In most adolescents with a complaint of a lost tampon - it was eventually found on pelvic examination, as opposed to older women, in whom a finding was present in only one-fifth of cases. This highlights the importance of thorough examination of adolescents presenting due to tampon loss. Purpose: Intraamniotic infection, categorized into isolated maternal fever, suspected intraamniotic infection (SII), and confirmed intraamniotic infection, is associated with neonatal morbidity. However, there is paucity of data regarding the association between intraamniotic infection duration and neonatal outcomes among term singleton vaginal deliveries. We aimed to study the risk factors for adverse neonatal outcome among vaginal deliveries complicated by SII., Methods: A retrospective observational study conducted at a tertiary medical center. All consecutive singleton term deliveries with SII were included between 2011 and 2019. Maternal and obstetrical characteristics were evaluated to identify risk factors for adverse neonatal outcome. Correlation between SII duration and neonatal adverse outcome was analyzed., Results: Overall, 882 were analyzed. Most women (85.4%) were primiparous. Median gestation age at delivery was 40 2/7 weeks. Median time from SII to delivery was 170 min. Adverse neonatal outcomes occurred in 113 (12.8%) of deliveries. Duration of SII was not associated with adverse neonatal outcome. Analysis for determinants of adverse neonatal outcome revealed that oligohydramnios was more common in pregnancies with adverse neonatal outcome (7/113 (6.2%) vs. 41 (5.4%) OR [95% CI] 2.47 (1.02-5.98), p = 0.03). Duration of second stage of labor was longer in the adverse outcome group (median 179 min vs. 126 min, p = 0.008). Prolonged second stage was more common in the adverse outcome group (60 (53.1%) vs. 273 (35.5%) OR [95% CI] 2.05 (1.38-3.06), p < 0.001). On logistic regression analysis, prolonged second stage was the only modifiable factor independently associated with adverse neonatal outcome [adjusted OR 2.09 (1.37-3.2), p = 0.001]. Other variables tested did not differ between groups. Only phototherapy and base excess ≥ 12 mmol/L were significantly associated with the duration of second stage of labor; for each additional hour of the second stage, the OR for the former increased by 0.34 (p = 0.008), and for the latter by 0.69 (p = 0.007)., Conclusion: Duration of suspected intraamniotic infection was not associated with increased neonatal morbidity among women delivering vaginally at term. Prolonged second stage was a strong independent predictor of an adverse neonatal outcome among fetuses exposed to intraamniotic infection.

To collect and summarize pregnancy outcomes among women with a history of cerebral sinus vein thrombosis (CSVT). A retrospective multicenter case-control study. The study group comprised all women diagnosed with CSVT during 2004-2018 at four university hospitals, and with follow-up data of pregnancy. A control group of women with a singleton pregnancy was established by matching, four-to-one, according to maternal age. The data of 74 pregnancies of 65 women with CSVT were analyzed. The median time-to-pregnancy interval from the CSVT was 4.2 [2.7-6.8] years. Anticoagulation therapy in the form of enoxaparin was administered in 68 (91.9%) pregnancies. Adjunctive low-dose aspirin was used throughout 12 (16.2%) pregnancies. Overall, 54 (73.0%) of the pregnancies ended in live births and 20 (27.0%) in miscarriage. The use of anticoagulation therapy during pregnancy was positively associated with live birth outcome (P < 0.001). Late adverse outcomes were encountered in 19 (25.7%) pregnancies, including the delivery of a small for gestational age infant (n = 12), gestational hypertensive disorders (n = 6) and placental abruption (n = 3). The use of adjunctive aspirin was associated with a lower rate of late adverse pregnancy outcomes (P = 0.03). No recurrent CSVT, thrombosis at other sites, and major bleeding episodes were observed during pregnancy. Live-birth rate was higher (P = 0.007) and the rate of late adverse outcome was lower (P = 0.01) for the control (n = 296) than the study group. Among pregnant women with a prior CSVT, no recurrent thrombosis events were observed during gestation. The use of prophylactic anticoagulation was associated with live birth. The use of adjunctive aspirin should be further studied in this setting, as its utilization correlated with a lower rate of late pregnancy complications.

Objective: Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a common infection which can result in severe long term morbidity, such as chronic pelvic pain and infertility. The morbidity increases in correlation to the number of PID events. Our study aim to assess the risk factors for recurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease., Methods: A retrospective case control study was conducted using data for all women who were admitted to a tertiary medical center for a recurrent PID over a duration of 15 years. Women who had a recurrent PID were compared to women admitted for PID treatment without further recurrence. Forward stepwise multivariate logistic regression analysis was subsequently carried out., Results: The study included 133 women of whom 33 had recurrent PID. Women in the recurrent PID group had a higher rate of previous pelvic surgery (12 (36 %) vs. 20 (20 %), adjusted odds ratio [OR] 2.2 (95 % confidence interval CI 1.06-5.4, p = 0.05) and more had intrauterine devices (IUD) still in place if they had been previously present (5 (71.4 %) vs. 9(25.7 %), OR 7.2, (95 % CI 1.18-43.9), p = 0.02). The majority were treated with a combination of Ampicillin and Gentamycin, fewer received Augmentin or a cephalosporin base regimen (28 (84.8 %) vs 56 (56.0 %), OR 4.4, (95 % CI 1.5-12.3, p = 0.02), (1 (3.0 %) vs 27 (27.0 %), OR 0.08, (95 % CI 0.01-0.64), (4 (12.2 %) vs 17 (17.0 %)) respectively. In addition, invasive treatment had been required in more patients who later had a recurrent PID (6 (18.1 %) vs. 4(4.0 %), OR 5.3 (95 % CI 1.1.4-20.2), p = 0.007). Antibiotic regimens and invasive treatment were independently associated with recurrent PID (OR 2.69; 95 % CI 1.13-6.41, OR 2.10; 95 % CI 1.19-3.71, respectively)., Conclusion: Among women with PID, special awareness should be given to women with previous pelvic surgery, who required an additional interventional treatment and have an IUD inserted. Background: Women of childbearing age constitute a substantial proportion of patients who undergo weight loss procedures. However, little is known regarding family planning knowledge, attitudes, and practices among bariatric surgeons., Objectives: We explored the reproductive health and contraceptive practices among bariatric surgeons., Setting: A national society of bariatric surgeons., Methods: A cross-sectional study. Anonymous surveys were sent to all members of the Israeli Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery., Results: The Israeli Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery survey elicited a response rate of 96% (n = 48). Most (89.6%, n = 43) considered female reproductive health perioperative counseling very important, and the majority of respondents (66.7%, n = 32) felt comfortable discussing these issues. Nevertheless, only 54.2% (n = 25) reported routinely having family planning and pregnancy conversations with their patients. There was a general awareness that women should delay conception after surgery; however, only a minority of bariatric surgeons consistently either recommended the use of contraception after surgery (39.6%, n = 19) or referred patients for contraceptive advice (25.0%, n = 12). Most (81.3%, n = 39) practitioners reported not having accurate knowledge of contraception and felt that collaboration with other bariatric healthcare providers would provide patients with optimal reproductive-health counseling., Conclusions: Bariatric surgeons acknowledged the importance of reproductive healthcare and the need to delay conception among women undergoing bariatric surgery. However, they inconsistently addressed family planning and contraceptive issues and reported lack of accurate knowledge in this regard. Objective: To examine trial of labor after cesarean delivery (TOLAC) success rates and its associated factors among women with a previous failed vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery., Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study. The study group comprised all women with a prior failed vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery who subsequently delivered from 2008 to 2017 at a university hospital., Results: Overall, 166 women with prior history of failed vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery delivered during the study period, with a median interdelivery interval of 28 (21-36) months. Of them, 53 (32%) had an elective repeat cesarean delivery, and 113 (68%) had a TOLAC. Although there were small statistical differences in the predelivery characteristics of the two groups, there were not clinically significant differences. Of the 113 women who underwent TOLAC in the subsequent pregnancy, the overall success rate was 67%. Neonatal 1- and 5-minute Apgar scores were lower among neonates born to women who experienced a failed TOLAC attempt compared with those who underwent successful TOLAC: 1-minute Apgar score less than 7 (6 [16%] vs 2 [3%], odds ratio [OR] 7.16, 95% CI 1.36-37.45, P=.01), 5-minute Apgar score less than 8 (3 [8%] vs 0 [0%], OR 15.5, 95% CI 1.78-308.7, P=.03). No events of obstetric anal sphincter injury, postpartum hemorrhage and uterine rupture were encountered among women who underwent TOLAC., Conclusion: Trial of labor after cesarean delivery in women with a previous failed vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery appears to be associated with an acceptable success rate. These data should improve patient counseling and provide reassurance for those who wish to deliver vaginally after a previous failed vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery.

Introduction: Subgaleal hemorrhage (SGH) is a life-threatening neonatal condition that is strongly associated with vacuum assisted delivery (VAD). The factors associated with the development of SGH following VAD are not well-established. We aimed to evaluate the factors associated with the development of SGH following attempted VAD., Material and Methods: A retrospective case-control study of women who delivered at a tertiary university-affiliated medical center in Jerusalem, Israel, during 2009-2018. Cases comprised all parturients with singleton pregnancies for whom attempted VAD resulted in neonatal SGH. A control group of VAD attempts was established by matching one-to-one according to gestational age at delivery, parity and year of delivery. Fetal, intrapartum and vacuum procedure characteristics were compared between the groups., Results: In all, 313 (89.5%) of the 350 attempted VAD were nulliparous. Baseline maternal and fetal characteristics were similar between the groups except for higher neonatal birthweight in the SGH group. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, only six independent risk factors were significantly associated with the development of SGH: second-stage duration (for each 30-minute increase, adjusted odds ratio [OR] 1.13; 95% confidence intervals [CI] 1.04-1.25; P = .006), presence of meconium-stained amniotic fluid (adjusted OR 2.61; 95% CI 1.52-4.48; P = .001), presence of caput succedaneum (adjusted OR 1.79; 95% CI 1.11-2.88; P = .01), duration of VAD (for each 3-minute increase, adjusted OR 2.04; 95% CI 1.72, 2.38; P < .001), number of dislodgments (adjusted OR 2.38; 95% CI 1.66-3.44; P < .001), and fetal head station (adjusted OR 3.57; 95% CI 1.42-8.33; P = .006). Receiver operating characteristic curves showed that VAD duration of ≥15 minutes had a 96.7% sensitivity and 75.0% specificity in predicting SGH formation, with an area under the curve equal to .849., Conclusions: Vacuum duration, the number of dislodgments, the duration of second stage of delivery, fetal head station, the presence of caput succedaneum and the presence of meconium were found to be independently associated with SGH formation., (© 2019 Nordic Federation of Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology.)

Objective: Our study aimed to investigate the predisposing factors for recurrence of an ectopic pregnancy (EP) following single-dose methotrexate (MTX) treatment for a primary EP. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study performed in a tertiary care medical centre including all patients diagnosed with primary EP and treated with a single-dose regimen of intramuscular MTX. EPs with future recurrence were compared with first time only EPs, to identify risk factors for recurrent EP. Forward stepwise multivariate logistic regression analyses were subsequently carried out. Results: The study included 272 women. Of those, 22 (8.1%) had a recurrent EP. Women in the recurrent EP group had a higher rate of abortions (45.5% vs 32.7%; p  = 0.02), previous pelvic surgery (45.5% vs 6.5%; p  < 0.001) and both pelvic and uterine surgery (4.5% vs 1.6%; p  < 0.001). Conception by assisted reproductive technology (ART) was more common among the non-recurrent EP group (23.0% vs 4.5%; p  = 0.04). Success of single-dose MTX treatment was lower in the recurrent EP group compared with the non-recurrent EP group (36.4% vs 65.7%; p  = 0.006). A history of pelvic surgery was independently associated with recurrent EP (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 17.6; 95% confidence interval [CI] 4.9, 63.2; p  = 0.001). Treatment success of single-dose MTX was independently protective for recurrent EP (adjusted OR 0.25; 95% CI 0.08, 0.76; p  = 0.02). Conclusions: Among women with an EP, attention should be paid to those with previous pelvic surgery. Efforts should be made to achieve medical treatment success to prevent recurrent EP.

Introduction: Previous reports have shown that suboptimal antenatal corticosteroids administration occurs in most cases. However, as multifetal gestations were either excluded or constituted a small proportion of the participants in these studies, little is known about the patterns of use of antenatal corticosteroids in twin pregnancies., Material and Methods: We reviewed the records of women who received antenatal corticosteroids and delivered between 24 0/7 and 34 6/7 weeks of gestation during 2015-2017 at 2 university hospitals. Optimal antenatal corticosteroids timing was defined as delivery ≥24 hours ≤7 days from the previous antenatal corticosteroids course., Results: Of 424 pregnancies, 307 (72.4%) were singleton and 117 were (27.6%) twin. For twin compared with singleton pregnancies, gestational age at initial antenatal corticosteroids administration was lower (P = 0.02), the proportion of deliveries within the optimal window of the initial antenatal corticosteroids course was lower (19.7% vs 33.2%, P = 0.001), and the proportion of women eligible for a rescue antenatal corticosteroids course was higher (58.1% vs 32.9%, P < 0.0001). However, despite similar rates of rescue antenatal corticosteroids administration (P = 0.64), the overall rate of delivery within any optimal window (either initial or rescue course) was lower in twin than singleton pregnancies (26.5% vs 42.3%, P = 0.004), and the antenatal corticosteroids-to-delivery interval was longer (median 6.9 vs 4.2 days, P = 0.0009). In multivariate analysis, optimal antenatal corticosteroids administration was negatively associated with twin pregnancy (P = 0.04) and preterm labor (P = 0.05), and positively associated with the presence of gestational hypertensive disorders (P = 0.03)., Conclusions: Twin pregnancy is an independent risk factor for suboptimal antenatal corticosteroids administration.
