A study conducted by researchers at Islamic Azad University in Marvdasht, Iran, explored the effects of pregnenolone on neural stem cells in the presence of inflammation. Pregnenolone, a precursor to other steroid hormones, has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties. The study found that pregnenolone increased the proliferation of neural stem cells in the presence of inflammation and also reduced inflammatory and oxidant markers.
