Background: Exercise Dependence (ED) is characterized by excessive and uncontrollable exercise behaviors leading to physiological and psychological symptoms. Valid assessment tools are crucial for identifying ED in understudied populations. The present study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Exercise Dependence Questionnaire (EDQ) among physically active young adults in Iran. Methods: This psychometric validation study used a cross-sectional design with 200 participants aged 18-35 years (49% male, 51% female) recruited through clustered random sampling from sports clubs in Tabriz, Iran. The EDQ was administered between May-July, 2021. Validity was assessed through forward backward translation, content validity analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Reliability was evaluated using internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha) and testretest (intraclass correlation, ICC) methods. Ceiling and floor effects, Standard Error of Measurement (SEM), and smallest detectable change (SDC) were also determined. Results: The EDQ demonstrated good content validity (CVI=0.88, CVR=0.73). EFA yielded a 7-factor model explaining 59.45% of variance. Key factors were withdrawal symptoms, exercise for health/social reasons, positive reward, interference with life, insight into problems, and stereotyped behavior. CFA showed moderate fit. Internal consistency was adequate overall (α=0.8) but lower for some subscales. The ICC confirmed good test-retest reliability (0.80, 95% CI 0.76-0.84). No ceiling and floor effects were detected. Objective: Suicide is an important health issue nearly all over the world. The Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS) is a well-known instrument for suicide risk assessment. Our purpose in this study is to provide a Persian version of the C-SSRS and evaluate its psychometric properties in the Iranian military population, particularly suicide risk leveling characteristic of the C-SSRS. Method: For linguistic adaptation, we gathered opinions of an expert panel consisting of 23 professionals in mental health sciences. Furthermore, this version was administered to two groups of soldiers, one representing a sample of normal population (N = 338), while the other group comprised a sample of clinical population from a referral psychiatric hospital (N = 348) in Tehran, capital of Iran, from July 2021 until one year later. Besides the C-SSRS, the Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation (BSSI), Beck Hopelessness Scale (BSS), and General Health Questionnaire 28 (GHQ28) were obtained from the participants. Correlation coefficients, internal consistency, and factor analysis were evaluated using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (version 23) software. Results: All items of the Persian version of the C-SSRS had acceptable content validity and face validity. This tool demonstrated high correlation coefficients with the BSSI (r = 0.73, P < 0.001) and BHS (r = 0.64, P < 0.001), but a low correlation coefficient with the GHQ28 (r = 0.22, P < 0.001). Specifically, the suicide risk level based on the C-SSRS had a high correlation with both the BSSI and BHS. Also, its internal consistency was satisfactory (Cronbach's alpha = 0.89). Furthermore, factor analysis revealed two factors that is consistent with suicidal ideation and suicidal behavior factors. Conclusion: Our results indicated acceptable validity and reliability for the Persian version of the C-SSRS, demonstrating its capability to classify suicide risk. It can be concluded that the ordinal suicide risk level (as red, orange, yellow and green) is a valid index for the application of the C-SSRS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris, and San Diego -- Auto-questionnaire (TEMPS-A) assesses five affective temperaments and has been translated into 32 languages. A 35-item short version is available in Persian, but the complete version is not yet translated. This study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the complete Persian version of the TEMPS-A in an Iranian population. Method: This descriptive study translated the TEMPS-A questionnaire from English to Persian using a standard forwardbackward method. The translation was evaluated for face and content validity by 10 psychiatry specialists, with quantitative content validity assessed through content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) calculations. The Persian TEMPS-A was completed twice, with a two-week interval, by 30 individuals out of the 319 medical staff of Imam Hossein Hospital in Tehran, Iran, who participated in the study, and its reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha. The questionnaire was then distributed to the entire sample (n = 319) for the analysis of temperament frequencies and statistical indices by a statistician. Results: The Persian version of the TEMPS-A, consisting of 110 items across five factors (depressive, cyclothymic, hyperthymic, irritable, and anxious), demonstrated excellent reliability with Cronbach's alpha values of 0.910, 0.909, 0.911, 0.910, and 0.909, respectively. The questions related to cyclothymic and hyperthymic temperaments exhibited the highest and lowest correlation coefficients with the general scale, respectively. Most subscales in the Persian TEMPS-A version showed correlation coefficients ranging from 0.28 to 0.68. An ANOVA with Cochrane's test revealed a significant difference in the mean scores of the questionnaire items (P < 0.001), with a grand mean score of 1.73 across all questions. Conclusion: The Persian version of the TEMPS-A, consisting of 110 items, showed good internal consistency and a strong correlation with the original version. Background: In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on exploring the influence of spirituality/religion on the management of mental health disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the viewpoints of Iranian patients with mental health disorders regarding the incorporation of spirituality into their assessment. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 at Iran University of Medical Sciences. Initially, a questionnaire was developed based on key spiritual concepts identified from a literature review. The content and face validity of the questionnaire were evaluated by an expert panel, and its reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data collection was carried out in the second phase, with the questionnaire consisting of 4 questions examining the patients' perceived need and willingness for their therapist to explore their spiritual and religious dimensions. Data analysis was performed using appropriate statistical tests. Results: The questionnaire's validity was confirmed, and its reliability was demonstrated with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.79. A total of 368 patients participated in the study. No significant associations were observed between the participants' educational level, diagnosis type, gender, and the questionnaire scores. Approximately half of the patients with mental health disorders expressed a desire to incorporate spiritual assessments into their psychological evaluations, with most welcoming this integration. Background: The development of societies relies on the type and manner of activities performed at universities. Professors play a pivotal role in the development of universities and societies. Assessment of professors' motivation and behavior and factors affecting them can improve the educational system and increase its performance. This study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the Physician Teaching Motivation Questionnaire (PTMQ) from the viewpoint of clinical professors at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS). Methods: This is an instrument psychometric study in which the questionnaire's validity was determined through the face and content validity and its construct validity through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability was determined through the calculation of Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient and consistency between agreers. The data were analyzed in SPSS 23 and LISREL 8.8. Results: The results showed that all 18 items had acceptable content validity (0.68-0.97). The Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlation coefficients were 0.81 and 0.86, respectively. The number of items remained unchanged at 18 according to exploratory factor analysis which classified them into six categories (intrinsic motivation, identified motivation, introjected motivation, career motivation, external motivation, and teaching assistant motivation) and explained 54% of the total variance of the mentioned variables. Also, the value of CFI was equal to 0.93 and the value of Cohen's kappa was between 0.77 and 0.84. Conclusion: The Persian version of PTMQ is a valid and reliable instrument that can be used for research, educational, and practical purposes to evaluate the teaching motivation of clinical professors in other groups. Background: Due to the increasing number of online educations, traditional methods for evaluation of different on-line education methods are not suitable and there is a need for a valid and reliable tool in this field. This study aimed to examine the validity and reliability of the Student Evaluation of Online Teaching Effectiveness (SEOTE) questionnaire among Medical Sciences' students in Tabriz, Iran. Methods: Using convenience sampling method, the present study included 230 students of Medical Sciences (e.g., mean age of 21.96 ±3.47 years) in Tabriz, Iran. The SEOTE questionnaire was used to collect the data. Forward-backward translation, construct validity and content validity were utilized to check the validity of the questionnaire. In addition, temporal stability was calculated using the test-retest method and Internal Consistency Coefficient (ICC). Results: It was confirmed that the SEOTE has appropriate content validity using the content validity index (CVI) of 0.80 and content validity ratio CVR of 0.70. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) identified the following two factors for domain identification of "communication" and "learning". A Cronbach's alpha of 0.97 was obtained for the questionnaire's reliability, and ICC was used to confirm the temporal stability of the questionnaire (95% Confidence Interval [CI]: 0.966-0.977). Conclusion: This study confirms that the Persian version of SEOTE questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for evaluation of on-line teaching among Medical Sciences' students. Objective: Internalized transphobia (IT) is influenced by societal norms and expectations, and it can have significant negative effects on the well-being and mental health of transgender individuals. The aim of this study was to translate and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian 8-item IT scale among Iranian transgender individuals in order to enhance the quality and quantity of research in this field. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional and methodological study utilized convenience sampling to recruit 119 transgender individuals in Mashhad, the second most populous city in Iran, in 2021. The Persian translation of the IT scale was developed using the backward-forward translation method. Subsequently, various types of validity and reliability were assessed, including content validity using the content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR), face validity based on the impact score, construct validity through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), internal consistency measured by Cronbach's alpha, and test-retest stability analyzed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: The CVR ranged from 0.600 to 1, the CVI ranged from 0.800 to 1, and the impact score exceeded 1.5, indicating the appropriate content and face validity of the 8-item IT scale. The construct validity analysis revealed that the questionnaire is one-dimensional. The internal consistency, as measured by Cronbach's alpha, was 0.917, and the ICC for test-retest stability was 0.871. Conclusion: The Persian version of the IT scale demonstrated high and acceptable psychometric properties. The brevity of this scale facilitates its dissemination and utilization in clinical settings. Background: This study was conducted to evaluate the psychometric properties of a Persian version of the Adolescent Leisure Interest Profile (ALIP) in Persian-speaking adolescents with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Methods: Thirty adolescents with CP participated. The test-retest reliability, construct validity of the ALIP with the Children's Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment (CAPE), and discriminative validity were examined. Results: There were no floor and ceiling effects. Test-retest reliability of the Persian version of the ALIP for the total scores ranged from 0.69-0.94. Cronbach alpha for internal consistency of the Persian ALIP was obtained 0.98. Evidence for construct validity was found with significant correlations between the ALIP and the CAPE domains (r=-0.45-0.69). The standard error of measurement and the smallest detectable change values were 0.08-8.22 and 0.22-22.87, respectively. Background: The left ventricular dysfunction 36 (LVD-36) questionnaire is considered to be a tool to assess the impact of left ventricle impairment on patients' daily life. This methodological study was aimed to translate and assess the validity and reliability of the Persian draft of the LVD-36 questionnaire among Iranian heart failure (HF) patients. Methods: We recruited stable HF patients who referred to an outpatient heart clinic in Isfahan, Iran. The LVD-36 questionnaire was translated using the forward-backward method. Twenty HF patients were recruited for content validity assessment and were asked to express their opinions about the comprehensibility and meaningfulness of each item. We invited 14 experts to assess validity through content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR). Reliability was assessed by Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), with the latter evaluated after invitation of the participants to complete the questionnaire for the second time. Results: The translation process was performed uneventfully without any significant alterations. A total of 150 HF patients were recruited to assess the reliability of the questionnaire in this study (age: 64.6 ± 16 years, males: 58.6%). All items had acceptable CVI and CVR, ranging 0.85--1.00 and 0.57--1.00, respectively. Cronbach's alpha was 0.971. All participants completed the questionnaire for the second time with no missing data. Test-retest reliability revealed an excellent ICC value of 0.981 (95% CI: 0.977--0.985). Conclusion: The Persian version of the LVD-36 questionnaire is a simple, valid and reliable tool for evaluating the impact of left ventricle impairment on the well-being of Iranian HF patients. Shoulder disorders are one of the most common problems in orthopedic patients. With the development of shoulder disease treatment methods and the invitation of new therapies, the need for a standard tool to assess shoulder function increases. One of these tools is a questionnaire that should have acceptable reliability and validity. Constant Score (CS) is one of the first shoulder scoring systems that has been used as the most common scoring system to assess shoulder disorders. This questionnaire was redeveloped in 2008 with a change in terms and methodology and is currently in use in many countries. Due to the lack of a Persian version, this questionnaire is used in inaccurate translation without any specific and standard instructions in Iran right now. Background: The aim of the study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the 20-item Fear of Self Questionnaire (FSQ) in Iranian samples. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive survey design was used. Students in universities of Tehran were invited to participate. Participants were asked to complete the Persian versions of the FSQ, Vancouver Obsessional Compulsive Inventory (VOCI), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21), Ego Strength Scale (ESS), and Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale (RES). Face, content, and construct validity, internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha), and test-retest reliability of the FSQ were assessed. Results: Face and content validity of the FSQ were confirmed. Analysis of the principal components using the inclined rotation method showed that there were two factors with an eigenvalue >1, which explained 80.5% of the total variance. The first factor had 12 items and the second factor had 8 items. The internal consistency was 0.975, 0.981, and 0.941 for the total score and the first and second factor, respectively, whereas the test-retest reliability was 0.732, 0.729, and 0.714, respectively (all p ≤ 0.01). For convergent validity of the FSQ, correlations of the total score and the two factors of the FSQ with the scores of VOCI, RES, ESS, and DASS-21 were all significant (p ≤ 0.01). Introduction: This study aimed to develop a model for developing higher education management in educational centers affiliated with Iranian universities of medical sciences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is an applied-descriptive survey with a mixed-method approach. Two hundred forty-two people were selected with cluster random sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire with two parts: the personal characteristics and the examination of the importance of higher education management indicators according to the indicators, dimensions, and components identified in the qualitative section and literature review. This questionnaire consists of 60 items, demonstrating a reliability coefficient 0.79, as assessed by Cronbach’s alpha. In terms of content validity, it achieved a score of 0.49. After determining the dimensions and components with SPSS MAXQDA 2023 and LISREL 2022, qualitative data were analyzed with factor analysis. Results: The qualitative part includes the technology development, the expansion of virtual education, increasing the learning quality, the efficiency of the educational system, the expansion of research and access to scientific resources, the expansion of international relations, capital optimization, the flexibility of education, monitoring, and evaluation. The KMO (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of sampling) measure yielded a value greater than 0.7, indicating that the dataset is suitable for exploratory factor analysis. The most influential dimensions were the scientific development of educational content (β=0.770), the use of technology in empowerment (β=0.560), the explanation of the educational system (β=0.550), and educational monitoring and evaluation (β = 0.330). Purpose: Despite the increasing interest in positive psychology and the functional characteristics of one of its practical derivations, strength-based parenting, there is a paucity of information regarding the assessment tools for strength-based parenting and their psychometric properties. Thus, this study aimed to translate the Strength-Based Parenting Scale (SBPS) into Persian and investigate its validity and reliability among Iranian adolescents., Method: Of the 645 adolescents who completed the Persian translation of the SBPS (349 females, M age  = 14.01 years, SD age  = 0.82, range = 13-15), 300 also answered the Mental Toughness Scale for Adolescents and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale., Finding: Confirmatory factor analysis supported a two-factor structure comprising dimensions of "knowledge of strengths" and "use of strengths," the measurement invariance of which was established across sexes and school grades. The two dimensions were significantly and strongly correlated with the constructs of mental toughness and psychological resilience (r = 0.36-0.65, p < 0.01), corroborating the criterion-related validity of the SBPS. Furthermore, excellent internal consistency coefficients were observed for both subscales (0.96-0.97)., Conclusion: Our findings substantiate the positions derived from positive psychology, upon which the conceptual foundation of strength-based parenting is built, and provide preliminary support for the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the SBPS., (© 2024 The Author(s). Objectives: Bedtime procrastination has been identified as an important factor associated with insufficient sleep and health and well-being problems. This study aims to investigate factor structure and psychometric properties of Bedtime procrastination Scale (BPS) in the Persian-speaking community. Additionally, this research aims to examine the role of bedtime procrastination in predicting sleep-related problems., Method: Four hundred and thirty-three participants (average age 23 years, 55.7% female) took part in this study. All participants completed the BPS, the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS). Confirmatory factor analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were used to examine the factor structure and predict sleep-related problems., Results: Confirmatory factor analysis showed that, unlike other language versions, the two-factor model without item 3 was the most suitable structure. This scale demonstrated acceptable reliability and validity. Additionally, the results of hierarchical regression analysis indicated that the procrastination factor, especially bedtime procrastination, was the best predictor of insomnia severity., Conclusion: In this study, the Persian version of BPS showed strong validity and reliability. These findings suggest that the Persian BPS can serve as a valuable and comprehensive research tool for assessing bedtime procrastination.

Objective: Cross cultural adaptation of the reflux symptom score-12 (RSS-12) into Persian language and to evaluate its validity and reliability in the assessment of patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD)., Study Design: A cross-sectional and prospective cohort design., Methods: A standard forward and backward translation was followed to cross-culturally adapt the RSS-12 into Persian language. To study discriminative validity, the RSS-12p was administrated to 63 patients with LPRD (40 men and 23 women; mean age: 39.26 ± 9.79 years) and 50 healthy volunteers (31 men and 19 women; mean age: 37.24 ± 10.28 years). The patients completed the reflux symptom index (RSI) to assess construct validity. The test-retest reliability was investigated in 31 patients (time interval = 7 days)., Results: There were no missing responses and floor or ceiling effects. The assessing of discriminative validity showed that the questionnaire was able to discriminate between patients with LPRD and healthy participants (P<0.001). Construct validity was confirmed by the Pearson correlation between the RSS-12p and the RSI (r p = 0.87; P<0.00). The internal consistency was confirmed with Cronbach α 0.85 and 0.72 for the RSS-12p and quality of life (QoL), respectively. Background: Healthcare professionals have a crucial responsibility to provide optimal patient care. However, maintaining silence within an organization can often lead to ethical dilemmas and negatively impact the quality of care. Healthcare professionals must speak up and ensure their concerns are heard and addressed to promote a safe and ethical healthcare environment. This study aimed to translate and assess the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Organizational Silence Behavior Scale (OSBS-P) for clinical nurses., Methods: A methodological study was conducted on 338 clinical nurses to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the 32-item OSBS-P. A multilevel approach was used: forward-backward translation, face and content validity, construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis), and reliability (internal consistency and stability) of the Persian version of the OSBS-P were analyzed, respectively., Results: The psychometric evaluation demonstrated that the Persian version of OSBS-P is not only understandable but also retains the conceptual integrity of the original English version. Confirmatory factor analysis validated its alignment with the proposed four-factor model, indicating robust construct validity. Background: In today's competitive world, especially in critical situations, dental clinic managers seek to retain customers and allocate more market share. The importance-performance analysis (IPA) technique is a powerful diagnostic tool that helps managers identify fundamental deficiencies, establish priorities and provide insights into which service improvement areas managers should focus on. This study aimed to improve the quality of life of patients at the Alborz Dental Clinic based on their perception of safe services during the coronavirus pandemic using IPA., Materials and Methods: In this analytical cross-sectional study, 324 patients referred to at Alborz Dental Clinic from April 2021 to February 2022 were enrolled in the study through simple random sampling. The data collection tool used was a researcher-designed questionnaire based on the indicators of the quality improvement model and the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Health of Iran regarding the provision of dental services in the context of COVID-19, the validity and reliability of which were measured. The gap analysis results and determination of areas of improvement were obtained using IPA. The data analysis was performed using SPSS26 and Excel software., Results: The results of the paired ttest showed that the difference between importance and performance for all the research variables was significant (significance level less than 5%).The importance of the components exceeded their performance. The deepest gap among the five components of the model was related to accountability. IPA revealed that two variables, reliability and responsiveness, are placed in quadrant A, and three variables, tangibility, assurance, and empathy, are placed in quadrant B., Conclusion: To improve the quality of safe services, dental clinic managers need to pay attention to the three dimensions of "tangibility", "assurance" and "empathy" and plan and make decisions about the two dimensions of "reliability" and "responsiveness"., Competing Interests: Declarations. Background: This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Study Anxiety Questionnaire (SAQ)., Methods: This methodological study was conducted in 2024 among 380 medical sciences students at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences, Iran. The face and content validity of the questionnaire were assessed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches following a forward-backward translation process. After confirming the adequacy of the sample, explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis was performed. Convergent and discriminant validity were evaluated using the average variance extracted (AVE), maximum shared squared variance (MSV), composite reliability (CR) values and Heterotrait-Monotrait (HTMT) ratio. To determine reliability, internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and Macdonald's omega coefficients, while stability was measured using the intraclass correlation coefficient., Results: No items were removed during the content validity phase. The Maximum Likelihood Exploratory Factor Analysis (MLEFA) identified four components of the SAQ (Motivational, Academic anxiety, Cognitive, and Test anxiety) comprising 19 items in total, which collectively accounted for 51.42% of the total variance. The confirmatory factor analysis results indicated a good fit for the 19-item model of the questionnaire. The AVE, CR, and HTMT values indicate acceptable levels of convergent and discriminant validity. Background: This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of The Bullying Behaviors in Nursing Education (BBNE) scale among Iranian nursing students., Method: In this cross-sectional study, 366 undergraduate nursing students from two public universities in Iran were selected through convenience sampling from April to June 2023. The BBNE scale was translated into Persian, and its content and construct validity, internal consistency and reliability were evaluated., Results: The three extracted factors explained 53.22% of the total variance. The results supported the three-factor model of the BBNE with acceptable goodness-of-fit (χ 2 (112) = 368.59, χ 2 /df = 3.2, CFI = 0.92, IFI = 0.92, TLI = 0.91, PCFI = 0.76, PNFI = 0.74 and RMSEA = 0.079 [CI90%: 0.07, 0.08], good internal consistency (> 0.7), and convergent and discriminant validity., Conclusion: The results supported the three-factor model of the BBNE with acceptable goodness-of-fit, good internal consistency and construct reliability. Objectives: This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Disaster Resilience Measuring Tool (DRMT-C19)., Methods: The research was a methodological, psychometric study. Standard translation processes were performed. Face validity and content validity were determined along with construct and convergent validity. To determine the final version of the questionnaire, 483 health care rescuers were selected using a consecutive sampling method. Other resilience-related questionnaires were used to assess concurrent validity. All quantitative data analyses were conducted using SPSS 22 and Jamovi 2.3.28 software., Results: The content validity and reliability were indicated using Scale's Content Validity Ratio (S-CVR) = 0.92 and Scale's Content Validity Index (S-CVI) = 0.93. The comprehensiveness of the measurement tool = 0.875%. Cronbach's α = 0.89 and the test re-test reliability using interclass correlation coefficients (ICC) = 0.68 to 0.92. Exploratory factor analysis determined 4 factors which accounted for more than 58.54% of the variance among the items. Confirmatory factor analysis determined 12 factors. The concurrent validity between the DRMT-C19 and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) was r = 0.604 (P ≤ 0.0001)., Conclusions: The DRMT-C19 has satisfactory psychometric properties and is a valid, reliable, and valuable tool for assessing resilience against disasters in Iran's Persian-speaking health care rescuers.

Background: The topic of patient safety and attitudes toward patient safety among health professionals is a main priority of healthcare systems globally. This study aims to investigate the psychometric properties of APSQ-III among Iranian nursing students., Methods: There were 307 undergraduate nursing students who participated in the cross-sectional methodological study, from December 2022 to January 2023. Content validity, Construct validity and reliability of the APSQ-III was evaluated., Results: In the exploratory factor analysis, three factors were identified from 11 items, accounting for 58% of the total variance. The confirmatory factor analysis indices confirmed the model fit (χ 2 (38) = 91.851, p < 0.001, χ 2 /df = 2.417, CFI = 0.966, PNFI = 0.652, IFI = 0.966, TLI = 0.951 and RMSEA = 0.068). The results of the reliability evaluation indicated that the factors demonstrated a satisfactory level of internal consistency, as evidenced by Cronbach's alpha (α) and McDonald's omega (ω) values. Additionally, the Composite Reliability (CR) and Maximal Reliability H were both above 0.8, further supporting the reliability of the factors., Conclusion: The results of this study support the valid and reliable APSQ-III with 11 items and three factors. Introduction: The incidence of PCOS is notably elevated in Iran, making it crucial to examine the quality of life among these individuals. This study aimed to thoroughly evaluate the psychometric properties of the Iranian adaptations of the PCOSQoL-47 and PCOSQoL-42 questionnaires. The application of these tools is significant as they could enhance further research in in communities with similar social norms concerning marriage and sexuality., Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design. Following the linguistic validation of the Iranian adaptation of the PCOSQoL-47 and PCOSQoL-42, a panel of experts reviewed the items through an evaluation of the content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR). Subsequently, a semi-structured interview was carried out to evaluate face validity. Consequently, discriminant validity was assessed using the known groups comparison. Convergent validity was evaluated by assessing the correlation between similar content on the PCOSQoL-47 and PCOSQoL-42, SF-12 and body image questionnaire. Responsiveness was assessed by comparing two scales scoring in baseline and eight-week follow-up data of prescription contraceptive Daine-35. In addition, reliability analyses including internal consistency and test-retest analysis were carried out., Results: The CVR in this study for the total scale was 0.98 for two scales, indicating a satisfactory result. The CVI for the scale was found to be 0.98 and 0.99 for PCOSQoL-42 and PCOSQoL-47, respectively suggesting that it had a good content validity. Known groups comparison revealed that the two scales effectively distinguished between sub-groups of women with varying symptoms specific to PCOS, thereby supporting their discriminant validity. Additionally, convergent validity was evaluated and, as anticipated, a strong positive correlation was observed between corresponding subscales of the two instruments. The paired t-test showed significant changes in PCOSQoL-47 and PCOSQoL-42 scores (p < 0.001) indicating as a responsive outcome measure to detect significant changes over time before and after treatment. Additional analyses indicated satisfactory results of PCOSQoL-42 for internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha ranging from 0.72 to 0.78) and intraclass correlation coefficients (ranging 0.67 to 0.92; P < 0.05). regarding PCOSQoL-47, Cronbach's alpha ranging from 0.80 to 0.82 and intraclass correlation coefficients (ranging 0.61 to 0.73; P < 0.05)., Conclusion: The PCOSQoL-47 and PCOSQoL-42 have undergone thorough testing in Iran and may be utilized as outcome measures in forthcoming studies within this demographic., Competing Interests: Declarations. Introduction: mHealth apps are widely utilized in healthcare. To guarantee their usefulness and usability, it is crucial to assess them using a reliable scale tailored specifically for mHealth apps and their users., Objective: The aim of this study is the psychometric assessment of the provider version of mHealth App Usability Questionnaire (MAUQ) in Persian language., Method: The Persian translations of standalone and interactive versions of the MAUQ for healthcare providers underwent validation. Face validity, content validity, and factor analysis were conducted to validate these two versions. Ten nurses evaluated face validity, while ten nursing and psychometric analysis experts assessed content validity. Factor analysis involved 98 nurses. The reliability of the questionnaires was measured using Cronbach's alpha., Results: The translated questionnaires were validated, confirming both face validity (impact score ≥ 2.40) and content validity (k*≥0.66). The Persian version of the MAUQ for standalone applications had 18 items across two dimensions: easy to use and usefulness (11 items) and user interface and satisfaction (7 items). The Persian version of the MAUQ for interactive applications had 21 items across three dimensions: easy to use (4 items), usefulness (5 items), and user interface and satisfaction (12 items). Health literacy may play an important role in the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of the Persian version of Health Literacy for School-Aged Children (P-HLSAC) employing data that covered the entire school path. This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2023-24 among 605 school-aged students in Isfahan, Iran. Reliability indices as well as content, predictive and concurrent validity were evaluated. The factor structure of P-HLSAC was assessed and confirmed employing exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, respectively. The scale content validity indices, Cronbach α and intraclass correlation coefficient were acceptable. A significant correlation was found between quality of life and health literacy (Pearson's r = 0.28, p < 0.001) demonstrating a good predictive validity. The mean of health literacy in those with daily self-health learning behavior was significantly higher than those without it (33.60 vs. 31.9, p < 0.001) highlighting the concurrent validity of P-HLSAC. Confirmatory factor analysis approved both one- and two-factor structure of P-HLSAC. The model indices verified an adequate model fit for both one- and two-factor structure of P-HLSAC. This study confirmed the reliability and validity of the P-HLSAC for estimating health literacy in an Iranian cultural context among primary to upper secondary school students. Chronotype refers to individual differences in the circadian phase that affect a person's biological and psychological functioning. One of the most useful tools for measuring chronotype in children aged 4 - 11 years is the Children's Chronotype Questionnaire (CCTQ). Therefore, due to the importance of measuring chronotype in children and also the lack of a standard scale in Iran, this study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the Persian version of this questionnaire for children. The participants of this cross-sectional study were 272 Iranian children aged five to eleven years with their parents, selected by convenience sampling method. To collect data, all participants completed the CCTQ and the Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ), which were examined by the researchers for their construct and concurrent validity. Over a period of three weeks, 50 mothers participated in a test of the test-retest reliability of the CCTQ. During this time, their sleep patterns were monitored using a sleep diary to test for reliability. The Cronbach's alpha of the CCTQ-M/E was 0.71. Test-retest reliability using the Spearman correlation coefficient between two observations with an interval of three weeks was 0.83. The MSFsc index was significantly correlated with M/E, CT, and most of the parent-reported sleep/wake parameters. In addition, the three indicators of the CCTQ were significantly associated with most of the sleep/wake parameters of the sleep diary and the components of the CSHQ. The Persian version of the CCTQ has desirable psychometric properties for the assessment of chronotype in five- to eleven-year-old children.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Short Health Anxiety Inventory (SHAI=short health anxiety inventory) in a sample of patients diagnosed with cancer. Factor structure, internal consistency, convergent validity, and gender differences in SHAI scores were assessed., Methods: 202 patients diagnosed with cancer participated, with 18 questionnaires excluded for incomplete data. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was conducted to confirm the factor structure. Internal consistency was also assessed using Cronbach's alpha., Results: A two-factor model (thought intrusion and fear of illness) provided the best fit for the data (SBχ 2 (64) = 114.346, p < 0.001, CFI = 0.944, GFI = 0.908, RMSEA = 0.065). Internal consistency was high for the SHAI total score (α = 0.864) and its subscales (thought intrusion: α = 0.753; fear of illness: α = 0.825). Purpose: This study aimed to develop two regression equations to predict maximal oxygen consumption (VO 2max ) using non-exercise data from a substantial cohort of healthy Iranian adult males. Additionally, this study sought to examine the predictive accuracy of these equations across four different levels of physical activity. Methods: A total of 126 participants (age: 34.9 ± 11.3 years, body mass index [BMI]: 24.9 ± 2.7 kg/m², and body fat percentage [BF%]: 18.3 ± 4.9) completed a maximal graded exercise test to measure VO 2max , with a mean of 45.0 ± 3.4 ml.kg -1 .min -1 . Participants also provided information on age, current physical activity rating (PA-R), and either BMI or BF% to estimate VO 2max using Jackson and colleagues' regression equations. The PA-R was assessed via a standardized questionnaire and categorized into four levels: sedentary, low, moderate, and high. Results: The key findings from this study indicate that both original models significantly underestimated actual VO 2max in a large cohort of Iranian adults (both, p  < .001 and mean differences exceeding 2.19 ml.kg -1 .min -1 ). Nevertheless, these models provided accurate predictions for VO 2max among individuals with moderate levels of physical activity (both, p  > .08 and mean differences between 0.51 and 1.03 ml.kg -1 .min -1 ). Furthermore, the models demonstrated moderate validity, as evidenced by an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of 0.841 and a coefficient of variation averaging 10.9%, with a range from 8.5% to 13.6%. Conclusions: While Jackson's two non-exercise models showed limited accuracy in predicting VO 2max among Iranian healthy male adults, they exhibited reasonable precision, particularly among moderately active men.

Introduction: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of global mortality and a prevalent health issue in Iran. Assessing the empowerment of CAD patients during treatment and care is essential. However, no scale is available to measure empowerment in CAD patients in Iran. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the "Coronary Artery Disease Empowerment Scale" (CADES)., Method: This methodological and cross-sectional study was conducted on patients with CAD from June 2022 to April 2023 in Kermanshah City, Iran. The scale was translated using the forward-backward translation method. Construct validity was examined using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with 190 samples and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with 344 samples, both selected through convenience sampling. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and reliability was evaluated using the test-retest method. SPSS version 27 and LISREL version 8 software were utilized for data analysis., Results: The EFA and CFA results confirmed the instrument with three factors and 25 items. The model's main indicators in factor analysis were all above 0.9, indicating a good fit for the model. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the items and subscales with the main scale showed a direct and significant relationship. Additionally, Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.813) and test-retest reliability (0.763) confirmed the reliability of the Persian version of the CADES., Discussion: The study's results suggest that the Persian version of CADES is both practical and acceptable for evaluating the empowerment of CAD patients. Purpose: Patients with kidney stones have a lower quality of life (QOL) than healthy patients; however, treatment guidelines neglect their QOL. Wisconsin stone QOL test (WIS-QOL) is the first specific questionnaire for urolithiasis patients. This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the translated Persian version of the WIS-QOL questionnaire in patients with kidney stones., Material and Methods: All patients (> 18 years old) with a history of urolithiasis were included in this cross-sectional. The WIS-QOL questionnaire was translated depending on Hutchinson's guideline. Effects of urolithiasis on the patient's social activity, emotions, disease, and vitality were evaluated. Pearson Correlation and Cronbach's alpha test were used to assess the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. All data were analyzed by SPSS software version 26.0., Results: Among 154 urolithiasis patients, 94 (61%) were males, and 60 (39%) were females. The mean age was 50.4 years (SD: ± 13.6), and the mean QOL score was 84.7 (SD: ± 21.8). For each question, the numerical value of the Pearson Correlation Coefficient has been compared with the numerical value, and the validity of the questionnaire was confirmed. The overall Cronbach's alpha was 0.94 for all four areas of the questionnaire, so the reliability of the questionnaire in Persian was confirmed., Conclusion: The present study showed the reliability and validity of the Persian version of the WIS-QOL questionnaire in symptomatic urolithiasis patients. The present study showed the status and impact of urolithiasis on QOL however, longitudinal and prospective studies should be done to specify changes over time.

Background: The Functional Assessment Scale for Acute Hamstring Injuries (FASH) which measure symptom's severity and impact on physical activity and sports ability in individuals with acute hamstring muscle injury, is not available in Persian. The aim of this study was to translate and cross-culturally adapt the FASH questionnaire to Persian and to assess the psychometric properties of the translated version., Methods: The Persian-translation and cross-cultural adaptation processes were based on World Health Organization method. A total of 160 participants compromising of four groups: (1) acute hamstring injury (N = 40), (2) other lower extremity injury (N = 40), (3) risk of acute injury (N = 40), and (4) healthy control (N = 40) were recruited to complete the Persian version of FASH (FASH-P) questionnaire twice with an interval of 48-60 h. The Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) and Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) were used to assess the criterion validity. Test-retest reliability, internal consistency, criterion validity, Dimensionality and floor/ceiling effects were evaluated to assess the FASH-P psychometric properties., Results: The FASH questionnaire were translated to Persian without any major problems. The FASH-P showed excellent power of differentiation because the scores were significantly different among the four groups. Regarding psychometric performances, excellent test-retest reliability (Intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.997) and a high level of internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha of 0.966) were observed. The FASH-P total score was significantly correlated with SF-36 and LEFS questionnaires representing an excellent criterion validity. Background: Integration of artificial intelligence enhances precision, yielding dependable evaluations of left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction despite image quality variations. Commercial software like HeartModel AI provides fully automated 3DE quantification, simplifying the measurement of left chamber volumes and ejection fraction. In this manuscript, we present a cross-sectional study to assess and compare the diagnostic accuracy of automated 3D echocardiography (HeartModel AI ) to the standard Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy., Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 30 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy referring to the Tehran Heart Center with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and comprehensive 3D transthoracic echocardiography within 24 h were included. All 3D volume analysis was performed with fully automated quantification software (HeartModel AI ) using 3D images of 2,3, and 4-chamber views at the end of systole and diastole., Results: Excellent Inter- and Intra-observer correlation coefficient was reported for HeartModel AI software for all indexes. HeartModel AI displayed a remarkable correlation with cardiac magnetic resonance for left ventricular end-systolic volume index (r = 0.918 and r = 0.911); nevertheless, it underestimated left ventricular end-systolic volume index and left ventricular end-diastolic volume index. Conversely, ejection fraction, stroke volume, and left ventricular mass were overestimated. It was found that manual contour correction can enhance the accuracy of automated model estimations, particularly concerning EF in participants needing correction., Conclusion: HeartModel AI software emerges as a rapid and viable imaging approach for evaluating the left ventricle's structure and function. Patients suffering from chronic kidney failure ultimately need kidney replacement therapies, such as hemodialysis. Adherence to treatment in these patients can play a central role in improving health levels and feelings of well-being. The aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the modified version of the Greek Simplified Medication Adherence Questionnaire in hemodialysis patients. In a methodological study carried out in 2024, a sample of 411 hemodialysis patients was selected using a convenience sampling method. The GR-SMAQ-HD utilized in the study was translated, and its psychometric properties were evaluated through assessments of construct validity, including exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, and divergent validity. Furthermore, the study examined the internal consistency of the scale to ensure its reliability. The mean age of the participants was 59.37 (SD = 12.99) years. The results of the tetrachoric correlation matrix with Varimax with Kaiser Normalization rotation using the first random dataset (n = 205) extracted three factors accounting for 74.4% of the variance comprising 8 items. The results of CFA showed that the data fit the model. As for construct reliability, Cronbach's alpha, CR, AIC, and MaxR for all constructs were greater than 0.7, demonstrating good internal consistency and construct reliability. In the overall population, the mean score for treatment Adherence was 5.61 (SD = 1.95, 95% CI 5.42, 5.80). Invariance analysis shows that the model has strong measurement invariance between sex ($ΔCFI= - 0.001, ΔRMSEA= - 0.004$). The findings affirm the appropriateness of employing the Persian iteration of the GR-SMAQ-HD as a dependable and valid instrument for assessing adherence to treatment in hemodialysis patients. Background: A child health-friendly neighbourhood is defined as a neighbourhood where the child's health is provided, protected and promoted. Designing and validation of an assessment tool is required to identify the deficits and strengths of neighbourhoods within the context of each country. This study aimed to design and validate a child health-friendly neighbourhood assessment tool in Tehran., Methods: A mixed-methods approach using semistructured interviews with 31 participants (15 mothers of children under 6 years old and 16 experts) conducted in Tehran between 2021 and 2022. Face validity, content validity and reliability of the checklist were calculated. Highly influenced by the Child Friendly City framework, designing and validation of the checklist was carried out through three phases: (a) identifying the child health-friendly neighbourhood domains and subdomains, (b) drafting the Iranian Child Health-Friendly Neighbourhood checklist and (c) validation of the designed checklist., Results: Following three phases of study, the final version of the checklist consisted of six dimensions, namely green space and park, recreational centre, passage and street, healthcare centre, cultural centre and kindergarten. Each dimension encompassed five domains of facilities and services, accessibility, security, safety and aesthetics and view, with 42 indicators, 77 subindicators and 273 items., Conclusions: The child health-friendly neighbourhood checklist has a more health focus on neighbourhood level and is more contextually specific, relevant and appropriate compared with UNICEF's Child Friendly City framework. Background: To effectively navigate the growing complexities and rapid changes in today's environment, universities must cultivate agility among their members. Over the past decade, students have encountered a variety of experiences related to E-Learning and the provision of educational services through electronic platforms. This study aimed to develop and validate a Questionnaire of Educational Agility (QEdu-Agility) to assess the capacity of educational institutions to adapt to these evolving demands., Method: This survey research aimed to validate QEdu-Agility. The statistical sample consisted of 372 students from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, who had completed at least one academic year online during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. Participants were selected using the Cochran formula. The initial questionnaire was based on three standard instruments related to organizational agility and adapted for educational contexts. After establishing face and content validity, the preliminary version was validated by a focus group of five educational experts, comprising 30 items across five dimensions: responsiveness, adequacy, flexibility, speed, and integrity, measured on a 5-point Likert scale. To confirm the construct validity, the questionnaire was randomly distributed to students via email. Data analysis was conducted using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with varimax rotation, employing SPSS 24 software., Results: The content validity was confirmed with Content Validity Ratio (CVR) = 0.847, Content Validity Index (CVI) = 0.877, and the reliability with internal consistency was confirmed with R = 0.944. The CVI sub-components for relevance, clarity, and simplicity were obtained as 0.867, 0.853, and 0.847, respectively. According to EFA, the sample adequacy was confirmed with Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) index = 0.928 and significant Bartlett's test (P < 0.001). The total variance explained of the QEdu-Agility was about 60%. The first component of responsiveness accounted for 38.79% of the variance, followed by adequacy (7.99%), flexibility (5.17%), speed (3.91%), and integrity (3.57%) in subsequent components., Conclusion: The findings of the construct validity indicated a good fit of the QEdu-Agility. Kinesiophobia, the fear of movement, can significantly impede an individual's ability to engage in daily activities. This fear often stems from past traumatic experiences or witnessing others in pain, leading to an increased fear of injury. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia among Iranian post-surgery patients. A methodological study conducted in 2023 involved a sample of 400 post-surgery patients selected through convenience sampling. The translated scale underwent psychometric evaluation, including network analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis for construct validity, as well as assessments for convergent and discriminant validity. Internal consistency of the scale was also assessed. The mean age of the participants was 44.38 (SD = 13.49) years and the majority of them (77.8%) were women. Exploratory factor analysis with Promax rotation identified two factors explaining 60.28% of the variance, comprising 17 items. The final model was confirmed after necessary adjustments in confirmatory factor analysis. Both convergent and discriminant validity were established, and alpha and omega coefficients of the subscales were above 0.7. The Persian version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia showed robust psychometric properties among Iranian post-surgery patients, serving as a valuable tool for evaluating and addressing kinesiophobia in this population. Background and Aim: Given the rapid technological advancements and increased usage of digital tools, understanding older people's attitudes toward technology is vital. Assessing their views can help identify barriers and facilitators to adoption. This understanding is essential for developing effective educational strategies and user-friendly technologies that enhance seniors' quality of life. Therefore, the present study aimed to psychometrically evaluate the scale for measuring attitudes-both willingness and anxiety-toward technology (TechPH) in Iranian older adults., Methods: This methodological study was conducted on 420 older individuals (aged 60 and above) in Tehran in 2024 to perform a psychometric test of the attitudes toward technology scale (TechPH). Validation was carried out using translation validity methods, including translation-back translation with bilingual experts (n = 2), face validity with a sample of the older population (n = 10), content validity with a panel of 11 experts, and construct validity through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) (n = 420). Instrument reliability was determined through test-retest and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) methods with a sample of older individuals (n = 30). Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 16 and EQS 6.4 software., Results: A comparison of Persian and English translations revealed acceptable translation validity and cultural adaptability for the scale. Each item's Content Validity Index (CVI) and Content Validity Ratio (CVR) were determined, with a total average CVI of 0.95. The results of EFA indicated that the sample size was adequate, as shown by the KMO value of 0.754. Additionally, Bartlett's sphericity test demonstrated a significant correlation between the items (χ 2  = 221.819, df = 15, P < 0.0001). EFA revealed that two extracted factors explained 41.002% and 18.111% of the total variance. Furthermore, CFA yielded suitable estimates based on the general fit indices of the model (RMSEA = 0.061, IFI = 0.979, GFI = 0.983, CFI = 0.978, CMIN/DF = 1.769, MFI = 0.989, AGFI = 0.942). In evaluating test-retest stability and internal consistency, the values of the Intra-class Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach's α were 0.85 and 0.77, respectively, indicating appropriate reliability for the scale., Conclusion: P.TechPH, the first Persian version of the scale for measuring technophilia and technophobia among Iranian older people, has favorable psychometric properties. Purpose: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) significantly affects both the quality of life related to health and non-health aspects. This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Lupus&#95;PRO questionnaire, version 1.7. The questionnaire serves as a specific self-report outcome scale for assessing the treatment outcomes of Lupus disease., Methods: The Lupus&#95;PRO questionnaire, version 1.7, was translated into Persian using the standard forward-backward method. After being completed by 218 patients with Lupus, the psychometric properties of the instrument were examined. The Convergent and Discriminant Validity of the scale were assessed using Average Variance Extracted and Cross Loadings, respectively. The construct validity of the questionnaire was also evaluated through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Cronbach's alpha was calculated to assess the reliability of the questionnaire dimensions., Findings: Out of the 218 patients with lupus who participated in the current study, 13 (6%) were male, and 205 (94%) were female. The mean (SD) age of participants was 40.29 (10.94) years. The Average Variance Extracted (AVE) for HRQOL and Non-HRQOL constructs, except for the Coping and Cognition dimension, was greater than 0.50, indicating satisfactory convergent validity. The interdimensional correlation coefficient (Discriminant Validity) for each dimension with other questionnaire dimensions was less than 0.10, indicating that the questionnaire has good convergent and discriminant validity. Additionally, the results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) indicated that the questionnaire was a suitable fit. In terms of reliability, Cronbach's alpha for the various questionnaire dimensions ranged from 0.51 to 0.91, indicating good internal consistency., Conclusion: The Persian version of the Lupus&#95;PRO questionnaire, version 1.7, demonstrates acceptable validity and reliability in the Iranian population. Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of first-time pregnant women regarding hearing loss in infants, and to identify the key factors that influence their perceptions., Methods: After validating and ensuring the reliability of a well-structured questionnaire consisting of 15 items, it was distributed to a total of 400 pregnant women who were experiencing their first pregnancies. Utilizing a cluster sampling method, participants were selected from both public hospitals and private gynecologist offices across diverse geographic regions in Tehran, Iran. Participants were asked to respond on a three-point scale (No, Not Sure, Yes). The results were analyzed using both descriptive and analytic statistics., Results: The translated questionnaire exhibited suitable face validity, test-retest reliability, and internal consistency. Findings revealed the highest maternal knowledge for "newborns can be born with hearing loss "(77.5%) and the lowest knowledge score was observed for "delayed birth cry can lead to hearing loss" (23.8%). Regarding attitudes, 72.5% of mothers scored above the mean of 5.65 out of 6, indicating a preference for early diagnosis and intervention. Several factors, such as education level and the mother's city of residence, showed a significant correlation with certain knowledge and attitude-related questions. Notably, individuals receiving care at public hospitals showed greater knowledge compared to those visiting private clinics., Conclusions for Practice: Mothers play a crucial role in child health and need to have a thorough understanding of pediatric diseases in order to make informed decisions. This study was conducted to determine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of an AADL scale in Iranian older adults. A total of 237 males and females aged over 60 years old were recruited. Personal information questionnaires, the CASP-19 Quality of Life, and AADL questionnaires were used for data collection. SPSS 24 and IBM AMOS 24 were used for data processing and analysis. Three factors that had eigenvalues higher than one were extracted, which explained 51.2 % of the total variances. The Cronbach α of the total score was 0.76, and it was >0.64 for each extracted factor. The goodness of fit indices indicated an acceptable fit to the data in confirmatory factor analysis. The current study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-Short Form (DERS-SF) in Iran, including testing its measurement invariance across sexes, as well as community and student populations. Two samples were recruited: a community sample of 583 participants (58.7% female; M age = 33.55) and a university student sample of 409 participants (67.2% female; M age = 24.48). Besides the DERS-SF, participants completed a battery of instruments online, measuring mentalizing capacity and borderline personality features. Confirmatory factor analyses supported the tenability of the five-factor model, excluding the awareness subscale. Except for the awareness subscale, acceptable to excellent internal consistencies were found for the DERS-SF and its subscales. The awareness-excluded DERS-SF was significantly and strongly associated with relevant constructs (|r s | = .49 to .59). This study also found evidence for configural, metric, and scalar invariance of the DERS-SF across sexes and community and student populations. Our findings extended the evidence for the validity and reliability of the DERS-SF and its awareness-excluded version by administering it in Iranian samples and supporting its cross-cultural applicability.

Autonomous and patient-centered health communication (PCHC) between a healthcare provider (HCP) and a client (HCC) is a critical fundament for successful healthcare outcomes. A standard and validated data collection tool for studying the satisfaction of Iranian breast cancer patients (BCPs) with various aspects of their health communication with HCPs does not exist. The current study assessed the application, feasibility, and cultural appropriateness of the Persian-translated version of the interview satisfaction questionnaire (ISQ) in the Iranian context. A standard translation/back-translation procedure was used to prepare a preliminary Persian version of the ISQ (ISQ-P) which was then evaluated for content and face validity by a panel of experts. The study data were collected from 200 breast cancer patients and used to estimate the internal consistency measure of Cronbach's alpha and intra-class correlation coefficient. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to verify the compatibility of the instrument's identified dimensions with the original ISQ's factor structure. The calculated content validity index (CVI = 0.89), content validity ratio (CVR = 0.49), and Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.79) indicated the appropriateness of the ISQ-P for its intended purpose. The CFA's outputs (root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.09, comparative fit index (CFI) = 0.954, Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) = 0.931, standardized root mean square residual (SRMR) = 0.04) affirmed the fitness of the study data to the original 4-factor conceptual model. The study findings supported the suitability of ISQ-P for assessing health communication episodes by Persian-speaking BCPs. However, due to cultural variation, cross-border diversity of health systems, and organizational circumstances, further validity and reliability appraisal of the ISQ-P in distinct sub-samples is recommended.

Objectives/hypothesis: The validity of cepstral analysis (Cepstral Peak Prominence [CPP] and Cepstral Peak Prominence-Smoothed [CPPS]) as an indicator of perceptual dysphonia was investigated in the Persian language STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional study., Methods: A total of 223 participants (159 with and 64 without dysphonia) uttered vowels /a/ and /i/, six standard sentences, and non-standard connected speech. All vocal samples were perceptually evaluated by three raters on a visual analog scale and put into four groups (normal voice, mild, moderate, and severe perpetual dysphonia). CPP and CPPS of sustained vowel /a/, reading the second standard sentence, and a sentence extracted from non-standard connected speech were established using "Praat" software. Statistical analysis involved a one-way factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis H, Kendall's Tau-b correlation, t test, and receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve., Results: The results showed that CPP of sustained vowels and reading the standard sentence and CPPS of sustained vowel differed significantly (P < 0.05), except between the normal voice and mild perpetual dysphonia groups (P > 0.05). The CPP of non-standard connected speech, CPPS of reading the standard sentence, and non-standard connected speech differed significantly between all groups (P < 0.05). The mean of cepstral analysis of all tasks, "averaged CPP," and "averaged CPPS" were significantly different between two groups of the normal voice and perceptual dysphonia (P < 0.05). Correlation between the cepstral analysis and the perceptual ratings demonstrated that the correlation coefficients for CPP and CPPS were between 0.4 and 0.6 (P < 0.05). ROC curve analysis revealed that the area under the ROC curve for "averaged CPP" and "averaged CPPS" was greater than 0.8 (P < 0.05). Background: The Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (SSEQ) is a self-report scale that measures stroke survivors' self-efficacy and covers specific domains of functioning after stroke., Objectives: We aimed to determine the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the SSEQ., Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study included 124 stroke patients in the sub-acute phase (between 2 weeks and 3 months of stroke onset). The original SSEQ was translated to Persian and back-translated to English. Demographic, neurologic examination, 'Persian Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (SSEQ-P)', and 'General Self-Efficacy Scale' (GSE-10) data were collected. The reliability of the questionnaire was evaluated by test-retest assessment among 30 people with stroke at an interval of two weeks. Factor analysis was used to assess the validity of SSEQ-P. Cronbach's alpha assessed internal consistency in all participants. Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS software version 23 and SmartPLS version 3., Results: In this study, the mean of SSEQ scores was 87.99 ± 37.09. Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI) were favorable. Convergent validity of the questionnaire was reported ( r  = 0.669) using GSE. Factor loadings of items in SSEQ ranged from 0.41 to 0.92. Validity indices (AVE = 0.75, SRMR = 0.07) showed that the single-factor model of the present study owns a favorable fit. The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Inventory Complicated Grief (ICG) including reliability, validity and factorial structure. In this cross-sectional study, 332 women and men bereaved at least 6 months from the adult population of Iran. The results showed Cronbach's alpha was found to be 0.94 for the scales overall score. Inventory Complicated Grief found a positive and significant correlation between the beck depression inventory (BDI) (r = .62, p < .001) and grief experience questionnaire (r = .74, p < .001). Still, he also found that there was a negative correlation between adult hope scale (r = -.44, p < .001). Furthermore, the results of the EFA result showed four factors on this scale. Background: Compliance with health-related behaviors is a dilemma among heart failure (HF) patients. The present study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of a Persian translation of the revised heart failure compliance questionnaire (RHFCQ) in Iranian HF sufferers. Methods: This methodological study was performed on outpatient HF individuals referred to a heart clinic in Isfahan, Iran. The forward-backward translation method was used for translation. Twenty subjects were invited to express their opinions on the provided items concerning simplicity and understandability. Twelve experts were invited to rate the items regarding the content validity index (CVI). Cronbach's α was used to evaluate internal consistency. The patients were asked to complete the questionnaire for the second time after 2 weeks to investigate test-retest reliability using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: There were no obvious difficulties during the translation and assessment of the simplicity and comprehensiveness of the questionnaire items. The CVI of the items ranged from 0.833 to 1.000. Totally, 150 patients (age: 64.60±15.00 y, males: 58.0%) filled in the questionnaire twice with no missing data. The highest and lowest compliance rates were attributed to alcohol and exercise domains, respectively (83.00±7.70% and 45.55±12.00%, respectively). Cronbach's α was 0.629. After the omission of 3 items related to smoking and alcohol cessation, Cronbach's α rose to 0.655. The ICC showed an acceptable value of 0.576 (95% CI, 0.462 to 0.673). Conclusion: The modified Persian RHFCQ is a simple and meaningful tool with acceptable moderate reliability and good validity for assessing compliance in Iranian HF patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective Upper limb neurodynamic tests are used to evaluate the mechanical sensitivity of the peripheral nerves. However, very little is known about the reliability of upper limb neurodynamic tests, especially for the radial and ulnar nerves. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability of neurodynamic tests of the upper extremities to test median, radial, and ulnar nerves. Materials & Methods In this observational cross-sectional study, 25 asymptomatic subjects aged 19-45 years participated. They were selected using simple non-random sampling. Then two examiners performed the neurodynamic tests on them on two successive days. The goal was to assess the reliability of median, radial, and ulnar neurodynamic tests. During the neurodynamic tests, the participants reported the initial stretching pain and the moment of submaximal pain (substantially obvious pain) in related areas of the nerve distribution, including the anterior side of the elbow and forearm for the median nerve, posterolateral aspect of the elbow and forearm for radial nerve, and medial side of elbow and forearm for the ulnar nerve. At the starting point of painful stretching and the submaximal pain, the angle of elbow extension (for median and radial nerve tests) and shoulder abduction angle (for ulnar nerve test) were measured using a mechanical goniometer. The range between these two points was used to analyze the reliability. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and the standard error of measurement (SEM) were calculated to examine the relative and absolute reliability, respectively. Using t-test, the difference in the mean of the measurements was calculated. Results No significant difference was found between the mean measurements of the two testers in intra-session and inter-session reliability. For examiners 1 and 2, was obtained 0.94 (SEM:2°) and 0.89 (SEM:2.85°) for the median nerve, 0.56 (SEM:6.36° ) and 0.93 (SEM:1.82°) for radial nerve, and 0.42 (SEM:3.27°) and 0.79 (SEM:1.42°) for the ulnar nerve. Inter-tester intra-session reliability was obtained at 0.84 (SEM: 3.44°), 0.54 (SEM: 6.1°), and 0.55 (SEM: 2.75°), respectively, for median, radial, and ulnar nerves. Inter-tester inter-session reliability was obtained at 0.97 (SEM:1.43°), 0.69 (SEM:5.06°), and 0.51 (SEM: 2.8°), respectively, for median, radial, and ulnar nerves. Conclusion The upper limb neurodynamic tests and measurement of the range between the onset of stretching pain and the point of submaximal pain have moderate to excellent reliability. Therefore, these clinical tests can be used in diagnostic evaluations and treatment interventions. Background: According to the importance of physical activity in the child's physical and mental development and cognitive health, developing a valid, reliable, and comprehensive assessment tool for children's physical activity is mandated. The purpose of this study is the translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation of the Persian version of the Thailand Physical Activity Children Survey questionnaire to measure the level of physical activity in children aged between 6-9 years in Iran. Methods: This study consisted of three stages, first, the questionnaire translation into Persian language and modification of the sections according to the Iranian culture, then the evaluation of the questionnaire via a pilot study, and finally, assessing the reliability and validity of the tool. Participants of the pilot study were 250 healthy children, aged 6 to 9 years, meeting eligibility criteria, recruited through a stratified cluster sampling method from schools across Tehran. Results: The Persian version of the questionnaire demonstrated an acceptable content validity (Content Validity Index between 0.88-1). The test-retest reliability reported the Intra-Class Correlation coefficient in the acceptable range in all sections (between 0.71-1). Cronbach's alpha was reported 0.993, which indicated excellent internal consistency. Conclusions: According to the acceptable validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Thailand Physical Activity Children Survey for children aged 6-9 years, it is recommended in research and surveillance studies to determine the level of physical activity of children of that age group in Iran. Background: Adverse effects related to treatment negatively affect the quality of life of patients with thyroid cancer. The current study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the thyroid-cancer-specific health-related quality of life (TC-specific HRQoL) questionnaire among patients with thyroid cancer in Kerman province, Iran. Methods: This research was a cross-sectional study conducted on 240 patients with thyroid cancer in Kerman province from 2000 to 2015. The patients were selected through the census method and were asked to complete the thyroid-cancer-specific quality of life questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 19.0 and LISREL version 8.80. The reliability of the Persian version was determined by Cronbach's a coefficient and the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was also conducted. Results: The Cronbach's a and ICCs were determined as 0.92 and 0.88, respectively. Five factors were extracted in the exploratory factor analysis with a total of 55.76% explained variance. Acceptable goodness of fit indices were found in CFA. Background: Existential anxiety is the anxiety that goes beyond objective threats and is related to a person's existence. Due to the lack of appropriate instrument to measure all five domains of existential anxiety in the Iranian population, this study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Existential Concern Questionnaire (ECQ) in the Iranian general population., Methods: This online cross-sectional survey was conducted from October 9 to December 11, 2023 in Tehran, Iran. We used an Internet-based data collection method. A total of 549 participants completed the questionnaires. The research instruments included the Existential Concern Questionnaire, Existential Anxiety Questionnaire, Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Short version of the Beck Depression Inventory, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale-12, and Death Attitude Profile Revised. Confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, and concurrent validity were used to measure the validity of ECQ. Cronbach's alpha and split-half methods were employed to assess the reliability of the ECQ., Results: Confirmatory factor analysis showed a good fit of the unidimensional model (CMIN/DF: 2.802, RMR: 0.066, GFI: 0.914, NFI: 0.911, CFI: 0.941, PNFI: 0.769, PCFI: 0.794, RMSEA: 0.057). Also, the correlation of ECQ with other variables was as expected except for the search for meaning in life (r: 0.010, P = 0.808), which indicates the validity of this questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaire was also acceptable (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.935)., Conclusions: The results supported the validity and reliability of the ECQ. The mentioned questionnaire can be used in Iranian general population. Previous research has highlighted the importance of workplace fun in enhancing employee satisfaction and performance, particularly in high-stress professions like nursing. However, a notable gap exists in understanding how workplace fun is perceived and measured among nurses in Persian-speaking countries. This study addresses this gap by translating the Workplace Fun Scale and assessing its psychometric properties among nurses. The findings will provide insights into the scale's applicability in these contexts and pave the way for healthcare organizations to significantly explore ways to enhance nurses' enjoyment of work in Persian-speaking countries. This survey, which involved 321 nurses from medical education centers in Ardabil, was conducted with a meticulous and rigorous methodology. Standard questionnaires collected the data, including a demographic form and the translated Workplace Fun Scale. The study examined the three aspects of workplace fun: fun activities, coworker socializing, and manager support for fun. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the structure, and reliability was assessed through retest coefficients, Cronbach's alpha coefficients, and composite reliability coefficients. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 14 and LISREL version 8.8, ensuring the highest research standards. The validity of both form and content was confirmed through translation and reverse translation. The Workplace Fun Scale showed high internal consistency and reliability, with significant Cronbach's alpha coefficients, composite reliability, and two-week retest coefficients of 0.859, 0.885, and 0.459, respectively (all at the p < 0.01 level). Fit indices, including GFI (0.97), AGFI (0.94), CFI (0.99), NFI (0.98), TLI (0.97), and SRMR (0.04), indicated a good fit of the measurement model, confirming the validity of the scale in assessing workplace fun. The confirmatory factor analysis results indicated that the translated version of the workplace fun scale, adapted from Tews, exhibited a robust factor structure and internal homogeneity within the Iranian sample. Furthermore, the scale demonstrated positive internal validity and reliability in Persian translation.
