It is the period that has witnessed the great political upheaval in the country, and this has been depicted in the movie. The movie illuminates shadows of threat that have swept over the country. Shadow dancing has been a specialty of Weir, and this can be seen in this movie as well. The gamelan music has been replaced by babble in many languages, and the clatter of typewriters and electronic machines, providing greater threat and suspense to the picturization.
