This study was based on the current growing trend of implementing e-learning in high schools. Most endeavors have been inefficient, rendering an objective of determining the initial steps that could be taken to improve these efforts by assessing a student population's computer skill levels and performances in an IT course. Demographic factors were also taken into account while formulating these recommendations. Basic computer skill levels were measured through the administration of the Technical Survival Skill Test (TSST) questionnaire, developed by the University of Toronto. Academic performances were evaluated through several assignments designed by the IT course instructors. The main result of this study indicated that computer skill levels did have a direct correlation with a student's academic performance level. The database was further parsed based on demographical factors, resulting in a set of recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of e-learning.

This article was written to develop a teaching portfolio that helps lecturers maximize the benefits of blended learning, a combination of in-person and online learning, through the use of Team-Based Learning (TBL) teaching and learning approach. Studies show that TBL can provide opportunities in developing teamwork capabilities and enhancing active learning, which are effects that could remedy the weaknesses of implementing blended learning. A blended teaching portfolio was developed for an International Human Resource Management course that consisted of a course overview, graduate competency, a syllabus, course material resources, a teaching scenario, a reading assurance test, midterm/final exams, student assignments, assessment of learning outcomes, and a course quality improvement sheet. Each item was constructed based on the characteristics of the course. The portfolio was considered a valuable tool for lecturers to manage a blended-learning course that can help students in achieving higher scores and in motivating them to read course materials prior to class sessions.

Indonesia is one of the countries in the world that still applies subsidies for fuel oil. By the law, the Indonesian government must ensure the supply and distribution of fuel for all Indonesian people. To implement this policy properly, understanding the pattern of fuel consumption is fundamental. In this study, clustering will be used to determine the categories of districts and cities based on subsidized fuel consumption patterns. Our research used several methods to compare which cluster method is the most optimal; the methods include kmeans, Partitioning Around Medoids (PAM), and Clustering Large Applications (CLARA). The results show that k-means is the best clustering method with the highest Dunn index and Silhouette coefficient compared to others. The optimum cluster number we get is two and represents fuel consumption from several districts and cities. Some districts and cities had underaverage consumption and needed to be monitored. This study investigates the impact of Team-Based Learning (TBL) on Information Systems students. A total of 61 participants, majoring in the Information Systems program at Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia, were included. The research employed a quasi-experimental design, with the first assessment derived from midterm test results, and the second assessment obtained from final test results. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while mean differences were examined using t-tests. In contrast to most TBL research, the mean students' test scores were found to decrease in the final test compared to the midterm test. This outcome may be attributed to three factors: (1) an unidentified adjustment period transitioning from regular learning activities to TBL classroom activities, (2) insufficient time for the full implementation of TBL, and (3) differences in difficulty between pre- and post-midterm course materials. Examining topic-level variability in modeling Twitter data can potentially yield more comprehensive insights into public perception during critical periods, thereby enhancing natural disaster mitigation and surveillance efforts. In this study, we utilized generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to illustrate the variability in tweet counts related to specific topics in Indonesia during the flood events that occurred in February 2021. The glmmTMB library in R was employed for this purpose. The data were assumed to follow two distinct exponential distributions: Poisson and Negative Binomial. To incorporate random effects, random intercepts and random slopes were introduced, allowing them to vary randomly across topics in the initial two models. Additionally, the final model addressed issues related to dispersion and zero-inflation. By evaluating the Akaike Information Criteria scores, we determined that a model based on the Negative Binomial distribution with random zero-inflation intercepts best fit the data. Although Twitter is a popular platform for social interaction analysis and text data mining, it faces challenges with geolocation automation. To address this problem, the researchers propose the utilization of a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model to develop an automated Twitter crawling system. The system aims to collect data related to weather in Indonesia by employing Twin, a Python-based Twitter scraping software. To overcome null geolocations, the study incorporates aliases created based on the common practice of Indonesian users mentioning the country's location in tweets. Air pollution is a pressing issue in cities, and managing air quality poses a challenge for urban designers and decision-makers. This study proposes a Digital Twin (DT) Smart City integrated with Mixed Reality technology to enhance visualization and collaboration for addressing urban air pollution. The research adopts an applied research approach, with a focus on developing a DT framework. A use case of DT development for Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is presented. By integrating air quality data, meteorological information, traffic patterns, and urban infrastructure data, the DT provides a comprehensive understanding of air pollution dynamics. The visualization capabilities of the DT, utilizing Mixed Reality technology, facilitate effective decision-making and the identification of strategies for managing air quality. With the growing demands for Precision Agriculture (PA) in Indonesia, researchers have evaluated the utilization of Machine Learning for predicting oil palm yields and determining variables affecting them. Previous studies showed that meteorological variables, including rainfalls and wind speed, are associated with oil palm yields. In this research, the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model and the Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) were deployed for analyzing the importance of 15 agrometeorological variables in predicting oil palm yield. The best model attained 1.911 RMSE and 0.855 R2. By analyzing the weights and gains of the XGBoost model along with the SHAP values, it was found that the yield in the previous year, the age and number of plants, the area of peat lands, and meteorological parameters such as rainfall rates and the number of rainy days in the previous three years were considered important. The previous year's yield in particular possesses the greatest weight and gain values according to the model, and the highest SHAP value among all input variables. Classification of Indonesian crops is a critical task in developing farming and getting more understanding of agriculture. However, there is no clear task in classifying types of crops in Indonesia. Transfer learning has been used successfully in a variety of image classification applications. Thus, in this paper, we collected images of Indonesian crops from the internet randomly and proposed a classification by using transfer learning of deep learning with four pre-trained models: EffficientNet- B0, ResNet18, VGG19, and AlexNet. In the experiment, augmentation techniques such as random horizontal flip, random vertical flip, and random affine were utilized to prevent the network from overfitting. The result found that EfficientNet-B0 outperformed other models with an accuracy of 82.55. Then, the model struggled to distinguish between crops in the same family. According to the results, although transfer learning can work well to classify images of Indonesian agricultural crops, some improvements are still required to address existing issues. Numerous research on stunting supplementation interventions in Indonesia have been published. The information can be extracted through data mining, especially from academic research databases. In this paper, we presented a text mining-based literature review strategy to create a pipeline that researchers can use to accelerate the development of stunting supplementation intervention research in Indonesia. Utilizing various NLP (Natural Language Processing) techniques, data were crawled, processed, and visualized using Python. The crawling dataset used a module from the Pubmed API (Application Programming Interface) to collect literature papers. The NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit) module and itertools were used to process text data. The n-grams model was applied to process tokens into bigrams and trigrams. Text information was visualized using Matplotlib and Word cloud packages. There is an increasing number of publication in stunting supplementation intervention according to our result, which was observed from 2015 to 2021. West Java was the province where most of the stunting research has been conducted, as determined by research abstracts. Top occurrences obtained from the bigram and trigrams models calculation produced different terms. The word pairings that occurred the most frequently in the bigram and trigram model analyses were "child-aged" and "iron-folic-acid," respectively. Typhoid fever is an endemic disease that burdens Indonesia and has a potentially fatal infection multisystem. Salmonella typhi bacterium is responsible for typhoid fever disease. Poor sanitation, crowding, and slums are the main factors of increasing typhoid fever incidences. Environmental factors directly connected to meteorological factors are the main factor in breeding the Salmonella typhi bacterium. This study aims to identify the correlation between meteorological parameters and typhoid fever disease occurrence. The study was carried out in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the Bureau of Meteorological, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) provided the meteorological parameter data. In addition, the Jakarta health surveillance office provided information on typhoid fever hospitalizations from 2019 to 2021. Pearson's concept was utilized d to investigate the correlation between typhoid fever incidences and the meteorological parameters. Humidity, precipitation, and wind speed are the meteorological parameters that significantly affect in contribute to the occurrence of typhoid fever disease. As one of the largest exporters in the world, cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) production in Indonesia provides an important contribution to the plantation sector that can, directly and indirectly, attribute to the national economic development. However, recent data shows a decline in cocoa productivity in Indonesia. This is arguably caused by various factors, including poor agricultural management and practices in cocoa plantations, that may lead to lower fertility in the soil and an increased risk of diseases and pests. Potassium deficiency is a major contributing factor to the low soil fertility that affects cocoa yields. Therefore, in this work, we implement an application with an expert system utilizing the forward chaining method to detect potassium deficiency in cocoa plants and then give a fertilization-based recommendation based on the plants' condition. The system employs a set of rules to identify symptoms related to the deficiency on the sample photo of a cocoa leaf according to the channels of red, green, and blue of the image. The sample images of cocoa leaves are submitted to the application with an easy-to-use interface that can show the scanning result and proceed to display the suggested quantity of fertilizers to prevent potassium deficiency. The spread of Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) in Indonesia is still relatively high and has not shown a significant decrease. One of the main reasons is due to the lack of supervision on the implementation of health protocols such as wearing masks in daily activities. Recently, state-of-the-art algorithms were introduced to automate face mask detection. To be more specific, the researchers developed various kinds of architectures for the detection of masks based on computer vision methods. This paper aims to evaluate well-known architectures, namely the ResNet50, VGG11, InceptionV3, EfficientNetB4, and YOLO (You Only Look Once) to recommend the best approach in this specific field. By using the MaskedFace-Net dataset, the experimental results showed that the EfficientNetB4 architecture has better accuracy at 95.77% compared to the YOLOv4 architecture of 93.40%, InceptionV3 of 87.30%, YOLOv3 of 86.35%, ResNet50 of 84.41%, VGG11 of 84.38%, and YOLOv2 of 78.75%, respectively. It should be noted that particularly for YOLO, the model was trained using a collection of MaskedFace-Net images that had been pre-processed and labelled for the task. The model was initially able to train faster with pre-trained weights from the COCO dataset thanks to transfer learning, resulting in a robust set of features expected for face mask detection and classification. Adopting a deep learning model into bird sound classification tasks becomes a common practice in order to construct a robust automated bird sound detection system. In this paper, we employ a four-layer Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) formulated to classify different species of Indonesia scops owls based on their vocal sounds. Two widely used representations of an acoustic signal: log-scaled mel-spectrogram and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) are extracted from each sound file and fed into the network separately to compare the model performance with different inputs. A more complex CNN that can simultaneously process the two extracted acoustic representations is proposed to provide a direct comparison with the baseline model. The dual-input network is the well-performing model in our experiment that achieves 97.55% Mean Average Precision (MAP). Meanwhile, the baseline model achieves a MAP score of 94.36% for the mel-spectrogram input and 96.08% for the MFCC input. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently there has been an interest in predicting complex disease risk using models that combine the effects of many genetic factors together. These are known as polygenic models and are useful in evaluating risk of disease in patients. These models, however, often do not include important non-genetic factors that are important to the prediction of the disease. In this paper, we explore the prediction of colorectal cancer in Indonesia from non-genetic factors using common machine learning algorithms: XGBoost and Elastic Net. The result of this study identified 8 features with strong importance from both XGBoost and Elastic Net. We recommend including these features as covariates in future genetic association studies of colorectal cancer in Indonesia. Geographically, Indonesia is a meeting point of three continental plates. Scilicet, the Eurasian Plate, the Indo-Australian Plate, and the Pacific Plate. Therefore, Indonesia is part of the infamous volcanic zone called the "Ring of Fire" and one of the areas prone to natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, and landslides. This study aims to capture the spatial pattern and identify the causes of social vulnerability in the districts/cities in Indonesia using the biclustering method. The data is extracted from the Indonesian National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) by BPS-Statistics in 2014. The biclustering result indicates that each district/city has its own social vulnerability characteristics and shows that the vulnerable aspects of each district/city are different. The adjacent observations tend to have social vulenrability characteristics. The results of this study can be used as a reference for national disaster mitigation policy in Indonesia.
