Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between pentraxin-3 and procalcitonin levels with Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores in septic patients. Design: This observational analysis with a cross-sectional method assessed the correlation between pentraxin-3 (PTX-3) and procalcitonin (PCT) levels and the SOFA scores of septic patients. Setting: We conducted this study in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital and Medical Laboratory Center of Hasanuddin University from December 2023 to April 2024. Patients and participants: Thirty-two patients with clinical sepsis were admitted to the ICU of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital. Intervention: Blood samples were collected on day 1 and day 2 of ICU care in septic patients to measure pentraxin-3 and procalcitonin levels. Measurements and results: The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference in pentraxin-3 levels on ICU care's first and second days (p=0.036). Similarly, there was a significant difference in procalcitonin levels on the first and second days of ICU care. The Spearman correlation test found a significant correlation between procalcitonin and SOFA scores (p=0.008) with a correlation value r=0.462 on the first and second days. The resulting correlation value showed a positive correlation, which meant that the higher the procalcitonin level in septic patients, the higher the SOFA scores with moderate strength (correlation value 0.4-<0.6). The correlation of pentraxin- 3 with the Spearman test showed a positive correlation on the first day. In contrast, on the second day, there was no significant statistical value with the SOFA scores with a correlation value p=0.093 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Pentraxin-3 and procalcitonin levels correlate with SOFA scores in septic patients admitted to the ICU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of mechanical ventilation based on predicted body weight (PBW) and driving pressure (DP) as directed in patients without acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Design: Experimental, single-blind design with pretest-posttest control group design to assess the effect of using PBW and DP as a guide in regulating the amount of tidal volume and airway pressure in mechanically ventilated patients without ARDS. Setting: We conducted this study in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital, Makassar, from November 2023 to March 2024. Patients and participants: Patients with respiratory failure who were admitted to the ICU of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital, Makassar. Intervention: Patients in the PBW group were given a tidal volume setting of 8 ml/kg PBW, adjusted to the lowest positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) with the largest lung compliance target, while the DP group did the same thing and adjusted the tidal volume regarding the driving pressure target. The oxygen partial pressure (pO2), carbon dioxide partial pressure (pCO2), oxygen partial pressure to fractional inspired oxygen ratio (P/F ratio), mechanical power, and ventilatory ratio were assessed at the first hour and 24th hour. Measurement and results: Thirty-two patients were divided into two groups, 16 patients each, recruited from November 2023 to March 2024. There was a significant difference in the P/F ratio in the DP group compared to the PBW group after 24 hours (p<0.001 vs p=0.190). Similarly, pCO2 after 24 hours significantly differed between the DP group (p=0.001) and the PBW group (p=0.658). Regarding mechanical power, the two groups had no significant difference (10.92±2.51 vs 11.68±1.21 Joules/min, p=0.284). The PBW group had a wider range of mechanical power values (range 8.4 J/min) than the DP group (range 4.6 J/min), suggesting the DP group had more consistent mechanical power magnitude. Conclusion: Mechanical ventilation guided by DP can improve oxygenation and ventilation outcomes. Even though both the PBW and DP methods resulted in similar mechanical power levels, the DP-guided approach provided more stable and predictable mechanical power values. This stability can benefit patient management in the ICU, as it suggests a reduced risk of lung injury and potentially better overall outcomes for patients receiving mechanical ventilation. One of the efforts to reduce water losses in irrigation channels is to provide lined materials in the earth's irrigation channels. Construction of these lined materials in Indonesia requires raw materials (such as sand, gravel, and split stone) mined from nature, and in Indonesia, known as class C excavated materials. Excessive exploitation of class C excavated materials will impact environmental damage. To overcome these problems, therefore, research is needed to find alternative lined materials, and in this research, the alternative lined material is Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP). The study's primary objective was to determine the value of the Manning roughness coefficient for lined channels made of GFRP material. The research involved experimental testing using an open channel model (flume) lined with GFRP material. The flow tests were conducted with three variations of the pump flow discharge and nine variations of the channel bottom slope. The test results from the physical model were compared with the results of the mathematical model simulation using the HEC-RAS software. The model's performance was evaluated using the graphical technique and quantitative statistics specifically the Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) method. Model evaluation with the NSE method shows that the performance of the physical model is "very good". The Manning roughness coefficient value for rigid-lined GFRP material range from 0.0071 to 0.0102. The recommended Manning roughness coefficient value for practical application in the design of irrigation channels in Indonesia is 0.0081. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Through the lens of the conservation of resources (COR) theory and gender-role perspective, this research investigates the effect of work-family conflict (WFC) on positive discipline parenting (PDP) via well-being among working mothers in Indonesian public organizations. A total of 218 mothers who worked in public organizations such as schools and hospitals were selected as participants. All participants had children attending schools from elementary to senior high school. Data were collected online with a three-wave data collection technique and analyzed using IBM SPSS AMOS ver. 26 and Hayes' PROCESS macro on SPSS ver. 26. The results showed that WFC directly reduced the mothers' PDP or indirectly lowered their well-being. In Indonesia, mothers are responsible for child-rearing and working in public organizations can cause resource imbalance. Scholars and practitioners should consider the existence of WFC and how it influences working mothers in public organizations. This study is among a few studies investigating WFC's impact on working mothers' well-being and parenting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Although a relative abundance of studies are published about technology and its potentials in education, there is a marked lack of evidence-based research perspectives depicting what-learners-actually-do in ICT-rich environments. This study examined Indonesian university students' use of ICTs in their independent learning endeavors. It was designed as a multiple case study with two phases, survey and interviews. The data revealed that the students pursued mixed experiences and feelings, both optimistic and distracted when collecting information online. While they enjoyed easy access to information, they felt overwhelmed with irrelevant activities that they called unconstructive learning. Self-regulation became the key success to their learning. Those who could control their exploration would gain maximum results.

Indonesia is a large island country with a wide variety of ethnic groups. As part of the thalassemia country belt, Indonesia has alleles that are as distinctive as those found in other parts of Southeast Asia. The journey of ancestors in the prehistoric period and the massive increase in human exchange in the last decade have formed the current population of Indonesia. The mutants of the beta-thalassemia allele brought by those predecessors can be seen from the traces of their journey. This paperdescribes the flow gene according to the type of mutations of beta-thalassemia in the country. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to analyze the application and normalization of the Osing indigenous people's customary law model in the Indonesian legal system. It discusses whether or not local wisdom as unwritten laws can be applied as guidelines in establishing the legal system in Indonesia. This research used the socio-legal method that views the law as how it is applied or how the law lives in society. Results show that people's plural socio-cultural values contained in well-preserved local wisdom, including those of Osing indigenous people in Banyuwangi, are often unwritten. Some view the importance of normalizing customary laws with local wisdom values in a positive law form with a location-limited enforceability. This can be applied through the procedures and mechanisms regulated in Indonesian Law No. 12 of 2011 on the Formation of Constitutional Regulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several elements that require consideration in an examination of the conditions and mechanisms of literary production include external elements such as general production tendencies, literary production tendencies, general ideologies, literary ideologies, and aesthetic ideologies, as well as internal elements such as the cultural and linguistic values experienced by human beings (artists/auteurs). At an empirical level, these conditions and mechanisms are set up by how different forces compete with each other. One of these powers was dominant in the structuration process. This power informed the ultimate results of the production process (i.e., the literary work). The material objects discussed in this article were selected randomly as case studies, testing the hypothesis that, although structures of literary production resulted from commercialization efforts, there remained spaces in which authors could resist outside dominance. Over the last two decades, the growth of the fisheries sector in Indonesia has shown an increasing trend; however, behind the rapid development of this sector, the role of small-scale fisheries as one of the main actors supporting the whole industry is often neglected. They remain poor and continue to conduct fishing activities traditionally. Therefore, this study aims to describe the real situation of small-scale fishers, analyzing the fishers' ownership of the boat they use, analyzing their income level to reveal their poverty status, and analyzing the factors affecting their income. The regression analysis results indicate that boat category, sea fish catch, fish selling price, fixed costs, and variable costs have significant effects on fishers' net incomes. AGRICULTURAL economics ,HUMAN capital ,FARMERS' attitudes ,STRUCTURAL equation modeling - Abstract
Farmers' engagement in agribusiness institutional activities has largely been confined to production activities, and has not been fully optimized. Similarly, the role of agricultural extension workers in providing institutional assistance has been narrowly scoped, mostly limited to government-initiated programs focusing on infrastructure development and production enhancement. Human capital, a vital factor for agribusiness development, has been largely overlooked. This study, therefore, seeks to investigate the influence of human capital components on the strengthening of horticultural agribusiness institutions, with farmer participation and coordination between farmer institutions as mediating factors. The research was conducted in the Uluere Sub-district, Bantaeng District, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, a region known for horticultural agribusiness development. Data from 120 randomly selected respondents were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to accomplish the research objective. The findings revealed that leadership, a component of human capital, has a direct, positive, and statistically significant influence on institutional strengthening. However, participation does not serve as a mediator between human capital components and the strengthening of horticultural agribusiness institutions. The variable of coordination function partially mediates between leadership and institutional strengthening, while the effectiveness of teamwork fully mediates the impact on institutional strengthening. The rise of corruption cases in Indonesia has led many corruptors to hide their wealth in other countries, including Switzerland. Asset recovery or repayment is called Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA). The purpose of MLA is to collect and share information, evidence, and testimony that can be used in criminal investigations and cases. In 2019, Indonesia and Switzerland agreed to sign an agreement between the Republic of Indonesia and the Swiss Confederation on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. This research aims to determine how the governments of Indonesia and Switzerland implement the MLA agreement to implement the scope of Article 2 of Law Number 5 of 2020 concerning the Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement in Criminal Matters between the Republic of Indonesia and the Confederation of Switzerland. The author uses a qualitative approach and descriptive research type in this research. The author also uses the theory of bilateral cooperation and the theory of international treaties. It also uses the concept of legal aid to analyze this problem. The results of this study show that the Indonesia-Switzerland collaboration by the MLA agreement has yet to be fully effective. The assistance requested by Indonesia to Switzerland has yet to be fully implemented because there are still many obstacles. They started from differences in legal systems, lack of material resources, and lack of evidence obtained to the lack of political will of the Swiss government. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of citizens' uncivil behaviours on the turnover intention of public service personnel. It tested the moderated mediation role of job insecurity and workplace incivility. The conservation of resource (COR) theory was employed to explain the public service personnel's reactions to resource loss threats and the desire to conserve the remaining resources. Design/methodology/approach: A longitudinal quantitative study design was used with a moderated mediation regression technique. Data were collected from 235 full-time public service personnel from five Indonesian public service organizations. The organizations included higher education, regional government institutions, and health, tourism, and transportation departments. All measures were valid and reliable for study purposes. Findings: The citizen incivility's effect on turnover intention was mediated by job insecurity and moderated by workplace incivility. Citizen incivility positively influenced job insecurity only under high workplace incivility. Therefore, citizens' uncivil behaviours could not increase public service personnel's job insecurity and turnover intention without high workplace incivility. Originality/value: This study contributes to the literature on citizens' incivility as a source of social stressors in Indonesian public organizations. The findings showed that citizens' hostile behaviours impact public employees' job insecurity only through workplace incivility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In Indonesia, bank sustainability received special attention after the issuance of the Sustainable Finance Roadmap Phase 1 in 2014 by the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan). This roadmap is based on the criticism of development which solely targets economic growth but is not followed by attention to the issue of environmental degradation and social inequality. The negative impact of unsustainable economic development has prompted the initiation of sustainable development that prioritizes the harmony of economic, environmental, and social aspects, or in other words the triple bottom line. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of sustainability management practices, green intellectual capital, and enterprise risk management toward Indonesian banking sustainable growth. Multiple regression analysis with panel data was used for hypothesis testing in this study. The sample in this study consists of 50 observations from 10 banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2016 and 2020. The results showed that sustainability management practices have a negative effect on Indonesian banking sustainable growth whereas green intellectual capital and enterprise risk management positively affected the sustainable growth of Indonesian banking. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) entered Indonesia around March 2020. Covid-19 has been impacting in various fields, including the running of different companies. The current study will take IDOLAB dance studio from Indonesia as an example to understand the operation and management practices after the epidemic. By literature analysis and interviewing with the boss and manager from IDOLAB dance studio, several findings are shown as followings. The major impacts of Covid-19 on IDOLAB include not running dance classes, workshops and other activities, losing most students, and the lack of studio rentals. The operation and management changes in IDOLAB are: (1) The learning process during the pandemic was carried out online. (2) Teachers will teach through an app that can also be accessed by the participant. (3) The company has to solve online classes problems: the network is not smooth, students cannot interpret dance movements, trainers have difficulty evaluating student movements, hampering the process of delivering material, and students are less flexible in performing dance moves. (4) More promoting and marketing through social media such as sharing on Instagram, and WhatsApp is needed. (5) When the pandemic conditions are getting controlled, IDOLAB has some face-toface classes, but with the condition that it follows the 3M progress, namely washing hands, maintaining distance, and wearing masks. Under the unstable epidemic situation, online classes are still necessary. How to improve the quality of online classes, emphasize the importance of exercises to customers, and promote to find mental support through dance during the epidemic could be the direction that IDOLAB dance studio can do in the future. This study focuses on the phenomenon that arose from the involvement of the Muslim community in the pela gandong ritual communication on December 2, 2018. Religious symbols were used to celebrate the first Advent held in Immanuel Church, Moluccas Islands, Indonesia. Symbols included chanting the call to prayer, lafadz Rawi barzanji, and the call to worship, singing hymns of praise, and lighting Advent candles. Using qualitative methods and subjective interpretive paradigms with data collected through interviews, observations were made from a phenomenological perspective, especially ritual, social transformation, social identity negotiation, and symbolic interactionism theory. The results showed that the involvement of the Muslim community in communication rituals has beliefs and values as central principles of kindred equivalence and social-community concerns. In addition, implementing cross-religious kinship in the subjective experience impacts proof of self-identity, human kinship, relationship creation, treatment acceptance, and joint worship labels. The last leads to a developed case of civic pluralism in the pre-conflict era that had been shattered by the conflict. It is likely that cross-religious civic pluralism is a necessary precondition for efforts to build theological pluralism. This article contributes to understanding Muslim communities' subjective experience regarding cross-religious pela gandong ritual communication and encourages further research in this area. Indonesia's current potato cultivation areas are mainly in the highlands (1 000 m above sea level -- a.s.l.). However, there are obstacles to potato cultivation in the highlands, including erosion, declining land productivity, limited area, and high production costs (i.e. labour wages, fertilisers, and pesticides). This study was aimed at analysing the effects of both an ethanol application and moderate altitudes on the potato production and quality. This study was conducted at the Horticulture Seed Station in the Ulu Ere subdistrict, Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. A split randomised plot design with two factors was used. The main plots were set at two elevation levels: 500 and 700 m a.s.l. The split plots were subjected to the addition of four ethanol concentration levels: 0, 10, 20, and 30%. The results showed that the ethanol application did not significantly affect the potato growth at the moderate elevation, except for the tuber diameter. Moreover, the 20% ethanol concentration produced better results than the 0% ethanol concentration. The application of 10% ethanol at an altitude of 700 m a.s.l. and 30% ethanol at an altitude of 500 m a.s.l. resulted in the best growth and yield among the studied treatments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to identify key factors influencing the adoption of technological innovation in urban farming (ITUF) in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach for data analysis, primary data was gathered through a structured survey of 334 individuals randomly selected from 14 sub-districts. The survey instrument, based on Rogers's framework, included eight parameters and 22 research variables, analyzed through Binary Logistic Regression to explore their impacts on ITUF adoption. The study revealed eight significant variables influencing the adoption rate: knowledge and experience in farming, education, involvement in Urban Farming organizations, continuity of ITUF information dissemination, belief in the role of urban farming in job transition, availability of resources for ITUF implementation, environmental support, and observation of urban farming technology. The research affirmed that six out of the eight parameters from Rogers's Framework significantly affected ITUF Adoption. The influential parameters included personal characteristics, communication behavior, relative advantage, complexity, trialability, and observability. In contrast, socio-economic factors and compatibility did not significantly impact ITUF Adoption in this study. The study's findings led to four key recommendations for enhancing the sustainability of urban farming. These recommendations encompass strengthening diverse training and education initiatives, providing incentives for urban farming organizations, implementing informational campaigns, and facilitating vocational training in urban agriculture. Additionally, the city's government should ensure accessibility to urban farming resources, endorse resource-efficient methodologies, and utilize media channels for disseminating successful urban farming narratives, fostering increased public awareness and engagement. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a public health problem in the world, including Indonesia. This study aims to determine the relationship of ecological, epidemiological factors with the endemicity status of DHF in Makassar City in 2013. This study used a cross-sectional study design. A sample of 14 sub-districts in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, was categorized based on the endemicity status of DHF. Sampling using exhaustive sampling. Data collection is done through secondary data analysis, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the ecological factors associated with the endemicity status of DHF in Makassar City were population density (p <0.05), while the rate of larva free, rainfall, and occupancy density was not related to the endemicity status of DHF (p> 0.05). Therefore, more attention needs to be paid to districts with high population densities and the need to establish trends in the spread of dengue cases based on ecological factors to determine areas prone to dengue fever and their treatment priorities. The geographical position of Central Java which is in the middle of the island of Java, making it a melting pot of cultures as well as the cultural center of Java island. Cultural heritage is divided into tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage. Tangible cultural heritage is the work of the human body that can be moved or moving, or that cannot be moved or did not move. Department of Culture and Tourism of Central Java has documented manually cultural heritage but very vulnerable to damage. There are also many cultural heritages that have not been recorded. The process of data collection and recording are very difficult, since the data sources are scattered and not well organized. Documentation of cultural heritage in Central Java can be used as an information system database for a wide range of cultural interests in Central Java. The aim is to facilitate and ease The Department of Culture and Tourism of Central Java to documents and records cultural heritage collections for the category of tangible cultural heritage. In the long-term plan, this system can be used as a reference by another region, thus forming the national cultural heritage documentation system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PIPER betle , *AMIDE derivatives , *STREPTOCOCCUS mutans , *STREPTOCOCCUS sanguis , *PATHOGENIC bacteria - Abstract
Piper betle var. nigra is a tropical plant closely related to the common piper. P. betle has also been dubbed a promising source of natural antioxidants in herbal health products, antibacterial, antifungal, antimalarial, cytotoxic activity against the cancer cell lines K562 and HL-60, and antileishmanial. The aim of this study to observation Antimicrobial activity and isolation of chemical compound. The antimicrobial activity of P. betle extract was performed by well diffusion method against two oral pathogenic bacteria (Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sanguinis) and opportunistic pathogenic yeast (Candida albicans). The inoculum (bacterial and yeast suspension) was prepared from a 24-h culture on NB for bacterial suspension and on TSB for yeast suspension. Extraction and isolation using various method of chromatography. Isolated compounds were characterized by spectroscopic means. Our study showed antimicrobial activity from crude ethanol extract of leaves P. betle L. var. nigra against two oral pathogenic bacteria and opportunistic pathogenic yeast with concentration 0.5% and 1%. The first report of two new amides derivatives, piperenamide A (1) and piperenamide B (2) in P. betle L. var. nigra. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

HONEY , *STINGLESS bees , *HONEYBEES , *PATHOGENIC bacteria , *APIDAE , *LACTIC acid bacteria , *SPECIES - Abstract
Background and Aim: Stingless bees are generally found in tropical countries, including Indonesia. In West Sumatra, stingless bees are known as Galo-galo, consist of several species with different characteristics; however, the properties of honey produced by stingless bees have not yet been explored. This study aimed to determine the physicochemical, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities as well as the microbiota profile of stingless bee honey from the bee species Heterotrigona itama, Geniotrigona thoracica, Tetrigona melanoleuca, and Tetrigona binghami that are intensively developed in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Materials and Methods: Honey produced by the stingless bee species H. itama, G. thoracica, T. melanoleuca, and T. binghami originating in West Sumatra was examined in the present study. The physicochemical properties (Association of Official Analytical Chemists), antioxidant activity (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl technique), total phenols (Folin-- Ciocalteu method), antimicrobial activity (Agar-Well diffusion test), total lactic acid bacteria, and microbiota diversity were measured in stingless bee honey samples. Results: Stingless bee species significantly affected the physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, total phenolic content, antimicrobial activity, and total lactic acid bacteria (p = 0.05), except for the crude fiber content. The carbohydrate profiles of honey produced by H. itama and T. binghami were dominated by monosaccharides, whereas those of honey from T. melanoleuca and G. thoracica were dominated by disaccharides. In terms of antioxidant activity (half maximal inhibitory concentration [IC50] value), there were no significant differences (p > 0.05) between honey from H. itama, T. melanoleuca, and T. binghami, but there were significant differences (p > 0.05) between honey from G. thoracica. The honey of G. thoracica and T. melanoleuca had the highest total phenolic content (65.65 ± 14.00 and 69.78 ± 8.06, respectively). In addition, honey from the four stingless bee species showed antimicrobial activity against the pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Listeria monocytogenes. From the principal co-ordinate analysis (PCoA) results, it can be concluded that the microbiota profiles of the four stingless bee honey samples differed. Conclusion: The results showed that honey from H. itama, G. thoracica, T. melanoleuca, and T. binghami has different physicochemical characteristics, antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity, and microbiota diversity. By knowing the content of this stingless bee honey, the results of this study can be used as information that this stingless bee honey has the potential as a functional food that is beneficial for health. HLA histocompatibility antigens , *TUBERCULOSIS , *LOGISTIC regression analysis , *CONFIDENCE intervals - Abstract
Abstract: Genetic studies of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), including those of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genes, have been reported in several populations. Some studies also have reported these genes to have a stronger role in severe tuberculosis. We investigated HLA class I and II alleles and haplotypes to ascertain their role in susceptibility and resistance to new and recurrent PTB in 257 PTB patients (216 new and 41 recurrent PTB patients) and 236 healthy controls in Western Javanese (Indonesia). HLA-B*4006 was associated with new PTB (p = 0.044, padj = ns), whereas HLA-B*1802, HLA-B*4001 and HLA-DRB1*1101 were associated with recurrent PTB (p = 0.013, p adj = 0.016; p = 0.015, p adj = 0.028; and p = 0.008, p adj = 0.027 for new PTB vs recurrent PTB, respectively). Except for HLA-B*4006, those associations remained significant after adjustment for age and gender by logistic regression analysis, although they disappeared after correction for multiple testing. Haplotype HLA-B*1802-DRB1*1202 was associated with susceptibility to recurrent PTB (p = 0.014, odds ratio = 3.8, 95% confidence interval = 1.18–12.27). In contrast, HLA-DRB1*1202 in the absence of HLA-B*1802 showed a significant association with resistance to recurrent PTB (p = 8.2 × 10−4, odds ratio = 0.32, 95% confidence interval = 0.16–0.64), suggesting that stronger susceptibility effect of HLA-B*1802 masked the protective effect of HLA-DRB1*1202. Further studies using larger number of patients with recurrent PTB will be needed to confirm our findings. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
