The purpose of this study is to assess the employability and digital technology skills needed by the world of work in the accounting field as required in the job advertisement. This study analyzed 532 job advertisements from four ASEAN countries. The employability skills framework is formulated as generic skills and personal attributes. Employers want accountants to have high proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills, self-management skills, and analytical and problem-solving abilities. Employees in the accounting field also need to have excellent attitudes and behaviors such as being honest and with integrity, working conscientiously, responsibly, and being able to work independently. This study found that advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to operate accounting software, including enterprise resource planning systems and cloud-accounting, are demanded in the accounting job market. The findings of this study contribute to supporting the needs analysis to further develop and enhance the accounting education curriculum.

This study utilized remote sensing data to monitor the relationship between land cover and drought exposure in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Province. NTT is a province in Indonesia, located in the Nusa Tenggara archipelago, characterized by low to medium rainfall, which contributes to frequent drought events. In 2018 and 2019, the province was impacted by El Niño, resulting in approximately 865,900 and 1,154,714 affected and displaced individuals, respectively. Due to the limited availability of time-series data, observations from the Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS mission, spanning from 2018 to 2023, were utilized. The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was employed to assess land conditions, while the vegetation health index (VHI), calculated from the Temperature Condition Index (TCI) and vegetation condition index (VCI), was used to estimate drought severity. To validate the dry season period in the study area, ERA5 climate reanalysis data from 1990 to 2020 was used. This study provides new insights into drought monitoring in NTT Province, Indonesia, by analyzing temporal variations in vegetation. The results indicated that seasonal dynamics, climatic variability, seasonal farming practices, and land fires are major contributors to severe drought conditions in NTT. Notably, this research highlighted a finding absent from previous studies: seasonal farming and land fires are the primary drivers of elevated drought levels in the province. The study is significant, as it elucidated the impacts of drought on development, agriculture, and water resources. Through remote sensing data, it revealed spatial drought distribution patterns during the study period in NTT. The recovery period from the COVID-19 pandemic has stimulated the acceleration of economic recovery in Indonesia, but the availability of job opportunities is still not optimal. In response, students' entrepreneurial interests must always be improved. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial learning, self-efficacy, and family environment, motivation and entrepreneurial interest. This research was designed as quantitative research with a causal type of research. The population in this research was all Denpasar Bali Private University students, with a sample of 250 students. The sampling technique uses purposive random sampling. The data in this research was obtained through a survey method using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses partial least squares. The research results show that entrepreneurial learning, self-efficacy, and family environment have a significant effect on entrepreneurial motivation. Likewise, self-efficacy, family environment, and entrepreneurial motivation also have a significant influence on entrepreneurial interest. However, entrepreneurial learning does not have a significant influence. Entrepreneurial motivation can act as a mediator in the influence of family environment on entrepreneurial interest but not on entrepreneurial learning and self-efficacy. It is hoped that this research can become a reference for the Government to develop strategies to fulfill the target of an entrepreneurial ratio of at least 4% of the population in order to accelerate Indonesia to become a developed country by 2045. Employees can experience developments that can advance the company, so companies must pay attention to the behavior of employees who work in the company. As many as 62% of millennial workers in Indonesia, they are considering and planning to leave their company. This is certainly not desired by companies where the millennial generation works. Based on field observations, researchers found that there is a problem of lack of employee OCB behavior. This is indicated by company turnover data for the last year. In this research, data will be collected based on quantitative methods. Questionnaires were distributed to 53 GlobalXtreme millennial generation employees using a saturated sampling technique. Partial Least Square (PLS) software will be used for the SEM analysis of this study model. According to the findings, OCB is significantly affected by work-life balance. Involvement has been shown to strengthen the connection between work-life balance and organisational citizenship behaviour. As burnout has a detrimental effect on organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB), worklife imbalance has the same effect. Work-life balance affects OCB via a mediating factor called burnout. Many sandy beach forests on small islands were cut down by people for farming to provide for their food needs. Land degraded due to over-exploitation is overgrown by Imperata cylindrica, which often causes fires in the dry season. This study aims to determine the species that occur in the secondary succession of Imperata grassland vegetation to assess soil fertility and differences in carbon stocks in various types of vegetation cover on the beach of Marsegu raised coral island. The measurement and calculation of carbon stocks used the Indonesian National Standard 7724:2011 with slight modifications in certain parts. The non-destructive method for calculating the above-ground and below-ground biomass used an allometric and the destructive method was carried out for understory and litter while the carbon content of the soil was taken compositely from several plots and layers and then analyzed in the laboratory. The results showed that the species that can grow and coexist with Imperata cylindrica is Timonius timon. In the final stage of the loss of Imperata cylindrica, the beach forest area was dominated by Terminalia catappa, Sterculia ceramica, and Cassia fistula. The soil's nutrient content of total N, P2O5 (available P) and cation exchange capacity (CEC) is low, with a very high sand texture percentage of 91-93%, which affects soil fertility. A comparison of total carbon stocks between differences in vegetation cover is the Imperata grassland area of 129.955 t/ha, the rehabilitation area is 82.920 t/ha, and the Terminalia vegetation is area 137.977 t/ha. Objective: Vitamin D as an essential nutrient is increasingly being studied and reported to have roles in diabetes and cognitive function through its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective functions. This study aimed to investigate vitamin D deficiency as a factor associated with cognitive impairment in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Materials and Methods: This case-control study was conducted at the diabetic center and neurology outpatient clinic at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar, Indonesia between September and December 2022. Cases had a score of < 26 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment questionnaire (Indonesian version) controls had a score ≥26. Vitamin D levels were assessed using serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels. The cut-off for vitamin D deficiency was obtained through the receiver operating curve characteristic. Results: In total 31 cases and 31 controls were included. The cut-off for vitamin D deficiency was <24.6 ng/ml. Patients with T2DM and vitamin D deficiency had an increased association with cognitive impairment (OR 3.8; 95% CI [1.1 to 13.4]) compared to patients without vitamin D deficiency. Other independent factors associated with cognitive impairment in T2DM were low education levels (OR 5.4; 95% CI [1.3 to 22.2]) and diabetes duration of more than 5 years (OR 4.1; 95% CI [1.1 to 14.4]). A particular type of tumor that is frequently detected in female dogs who are sexually active is a mammary tumor. Neoplasia results from DNA-based alterations in cell cycle regulating genes. The mammary gland is prone to the formation of tumors due to its dynamic structure. The development of this tumor is supported by numerous variables. It has been recently discovered that there is substantial evidence linking the BRCA2 gene to the process of cancer. Standard examination techniques, such as fine needle aspiration, histopathology, and immunohistochemistry, are used along with ancillary tests to determine the tumor type and degree of malignancy. The primary treatment option for malignant tumors is surgical resection followed by adjuvant chemotherapy; benign tumors necessitate surgical resection as well. Adjuvant therapy options include hormone therapy and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Tumor tissue undergoes angiogenesis as it grows and develops to accommodate the abundant supply of nutrients. Therefore, angiogenesis-inhibiting therapies can be utilized to halt the growth of tumor cells. A number of antiangiogenic medications are now being studied in clinical settings on humans, and several more are undergoing trials on animals. Hibiscus is a plant that has been shown to contain substances that may be used as sunscreen to protect the skin from UV radiation. In terms of their potential as sunscreens, flavonoids, tannins, and quinone chemicals are crucial because they are antioxidants that can reduce the negative effects of UV radiation and boost photoprotective activity. This study aimed to investigate the acute dermal toxicity potential of hibiscus leaves simplicial ointment 40% on female albino rats. The evaluation method refered to The OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals – No. Test: 402, Acute Dermal Toxicity-Fixed Doses Procedure. Based on the Globally Harmonized System compared to this study reported that acute dermal median lethal dose (LD50) was > 2000 mg/kg. Human-induced land-use change has resulted in substantial loss and degradation of habitat for forest-dwelling wildlife. The moor macaque Macaca maura , an Endangered primate endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia, has been observed in a wide array of habitats, including heavily modified areas, but little is known about the quality of these habitats. Here we compared the habitat quality of two areas occupied by moor macaque populations: a previously human-modified karst forest now located within a national park and a heavily modified forest located in an unprotected area. We assessed habitat quality by measuring specific indicators of potential food availability derived from vegetation data and quantified the nutritional environment based on macronutrient analysis of fruit samples collected at the two sites. Although the species richness, diversity and overall stem density of macaque food trees were greater in the protected area forest, total basal area and mean diameter at breast height were greater in the heavily modified forest. Mean metabolizable energy concentrations of fruits eaten by macaques were similar between forests, as were the proportions of protein, lipids and total non-structural carbohydrates. These results provide further support for the notion that heavily modified habitats should not be overlooked for their potential conservation value. To further augment their value, conservation efforts should focus on forest restoration, specifically the planting of fast-growing species that are utilized by both wildlife and people. Islamic bank is a bank that implement Islamic principles, including the implementation of policies and activities that should be in accordance with Islamic business ethics. This study discusses about how to behave ethically in solving the non-performing financing in Islamic banks. The non-performing financing has the potential to bring losses to banks. For Islamic banks which provide financing under mudharaba contract, this contract brings more risk to banks. Using a qualitative approach in the form of a library research by gathering relevant library resources and abstracting and interpreting the excerpts of references to draw conclusions, this study seeks to explain how to solve the non-performing financing from the view of Islamic business ethics. This study uses seven dimensions of Islamic business ethics to describe ethical behavior in resolving nonperforming financing, namely: (1) Unity of God (2) benevolence, (3) justice, (4) sincerity, (5) equilibrium (6) responsibility and (7) vicegerency. The findings of this study summarize that resolving non-performing financing in Islamic Banks should consider the seven ethical variables to minimize the potential harms or losses. This study will contribute to the body of knowledge in Islamic Bank financing and the practical benefits for the officials and employees in Islamic Bank as there is still limited research regarding this topic. Indonesia is one of the countries infected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which is caused by acute respiratory syndrome virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). At the end of March 2020, the provincial government of Bali appointed Udayana University Hospital to handle COVID-19 patients because the province has experienced an increase in the number of positive cases. In September 2020, COVID-19 cases in Bali increased by more than 100%, resulting in a higher volume and content of hazardous liquid waste. Furthermore, hazardous liquid waste is the residue of activities that contain substances that can pollute and damage the environment and health, necessitating more efforts in managing the processing of hazardous wastewater produced by the hospital. Based on the background above, this study developed and applied an Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring system to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Udayana University Hospital. In principle, the IoT system can be used as a real-time monitoring tool and minimizes direct contact activities of officers' WWTP sites. Moreover, the Liquid Film Aerator (LFA) was applied to improve the efficiency of WWTP. The developed IoT system successfully monitors pH, DO, and real-time temperature, and the monitoring results were presented in a web-based user interface. The result shows better power usage efficiency than conventional aeration. Furthermore, conventional aeration with a root blower requires 619.8 watts to produce 1 mg L-1 of DO, while LFA only requires 273.2 watts. Background. Since the first outbreak of COVID-19, most hospitals restricted patients' family support accompaniment during medical treatment of infectious transmission. On the other hand, accompaniment has also been recognized as an essential part of the treatment. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of family presence accompanying COVID-19 patients during hospitalization on the recovery rate and survival time. Objective: this study was conducted in a private hospital designated as a referral hospital for COVID-19 cases in Surabaya, East Java province, Indonesia. Materials and Methods. There were 541 COVID-19 patients included in the study, consisting of 251 women and 290 men. The requirements set as a sample are patients treated between January 1st 2021 and March 31st 2021. This study used a survival analysis study design. The data used is secondary data and uses total sampling. Results. The result of this study is that patients who get support from their families can survive longer than patients who do not get family support. Among the 251 female samples, only 34 were accompanied by their families, with 29.411% fatalities recorded. Among 290 male patients, 25.71% fatalities were recorded in 35 accompanying family presence. Furthermore, female patients have a probability of better outcomes than males (P<0.001). Conclusions. Based on these results, family presence has the benefit of improving outcomes and recovery. So, the authorities are expected to reconsider the restrictions on family presence by maintaining proper safety protocols of isolation and quarantine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Enlarged prostate, either in benign prostatic hyperplasia or prostate cancer is the predominant urological disease affecting older men. Metabolic syndrome including high blood glucose was considered to take part in the development of prostate enlargement, although their association is still unclear. This study aims to investigate the correlation between blood glucose with prostatic-related parameters. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 91 men with prostate enlargement from Urology Polyclinic, Tabanan Hospital, Bali Province, Indonesia. Prostatic-related parameters collected include patient’s international prostate symptoms score using the questionnaire, prostate-specific antigen and random blood glucose analysis from serum blood sample, and prostate volume determined with transabdominal ultrasonography. Patient’s mean age was 65.4 ± 10 years, mean prostate volume 52.7 ± 26 ml, mean prostate-specific antigen (PSA) 9.2 ± 17 ng/ml, mean international prostatic symptoms score (IPSS) 14.31 ± 7.1, mean random blood glucose 121.1 ± 40.5 mg/dl. This study found weak positive correlation between random blood glucose and prostate volume (r=0.269; p=0.01). PSA and prostate volume showed moderate positive correlation (r=0.365; p<0.001). No correlation between random blood glucose with PSA or IPSS was found in this study. This study found random blood glucose has positive correlation with prostate volume. Obtaining a booster dose of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine is required to maintain the protective level of neutralizing antibodies and therefore herd immunity in the community, and the success of booster dose programs depends on public acceptance. The aim of this study was to determine the acceptance of a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine and its drivers and barriers in Indonesia. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the provinces of Indonesia between 1 and 15 August 2022. Individuals who completed the primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine were asked about their acceptance of a booster dose. Those who refused the booster dose were questioned about their reasons. A logistic regression was used to determine the determinants associated with rejection of a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 2935 respondents were included in the final analysis. With no information on the efficacy and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine, 95% of respondents agreed to receive a booster dose if it were provided for free by the government. This acceptance was reduced to only 50.3% if the vaccine had a 75% efficacy with a 20% chance of side effects. The adjusted logistic regression analysis indicated that there were eight factors associated with the rejection of the booster dose: age, marital status, religion, occupation, type of the first two vaccines received, knowledge regarding the importance of the booster dose, belief that natural immunity is sufficient to prevent COVID-19 and disbelief in the effectiveness of the booster dose. In conclusion, the hesitancy toward booster doses in Indonesia is influenced by some intrinsic factors such as lack of knowledge on the benefits of the booster dose, worries regarding the unexpected side effects and concerns about the halal status of the provided vaccines and extrinsic determinants such as the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine. Willingness to pay (WTP) for booster doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines is an under studied research topic. Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the WTP for the booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines and its predictors in Indonesia using an online survey distributed all over the provinces of this low-middle-income country. The WTP was evaluated using a basic dichotomous contingent valuation approach, and its associated determinants were evaluated using a linear regression model. Out of 2935 responders, 66.2% (1942/2935) were willing to pay for a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The majority of respondents (63.5%) were willing to pay within a price range of 100,000–500,000 Indonesian rupiah (IDR), i.e., USD 6.71–33.57. Being older than 40 years, having a higher educational level, having a higher income, knowing and understanding that booster doses were important, and having a vaccine status that is certified halal (permissible in Islamic law), were all associated with a higher WTP for the booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines. The study findings imply that the WTP for a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia is lower compared to acceptance of vaccines provided free of charge. This WTP data can be utilized to develop a pricing scheme for the booster doses of COVID-19 vaccination in the country with potential benefits in other low-income countries. The government may be required to provide subsidies for the herd immunity vaccination process to proceed as anticipated. Modern society today relies on the ideology of consumption, not just a marker of the social status of a person or group but a mechanism used by consumers to gain social status or prestige by buying or consuming goods considered high by customers. The increasing reach of consumerism ideology has expanded the traditional definition of a "commodity" into an intangible service, especially in universities' operations. Surveys show that students tend to act as consumers in university education. Consumerism correlates with brand personality. There is a fine line that universities must build and maintain that will enable academics within universities to express integrity and intellectual qualities in both their teaching and research. This expression should include students as participants and recipients not only when they are involved in the class but as participants and recipients in the community in which the University is located. Forest loss due to anthropogenic activities is one of the main causes of plant and animal species decline. Studying the species' population status (i.e., density, abundance, and geographic distribution) on a regular basis is one of the main tools to assess the effect of anthropogenic activities on wildlife, to monitor population dynamics and to intervene with effective conservation strategies when the population of an endangered species declines. On Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, anthropogenic activities, such as agriculture, are decreasing the remaining natural habitats available for several endemic and endangered species. The effect of this forest loss on the threatened moor macaques (Macaca maura) in South Sulawesi is unknown, and data on the population status of this species are needed to design effective conservation strategies. To assess the population status of the moor macaques, we walked linear transects (N = 29, survey effort = 114 km) at six sites between November 2019 and March 2020 to estimate macaque population density and encounter rate. We tested the effect of anthropogenic activities on macaque encounter rate. Our global density estimate (24 individuals/km2) was lower than the overall estimate from the most detailed survey conducted on this species, which covered its whole geographic distribution (36.1 individuals/km2). However, these results should be interpreted with caution because the previous density estimate falls within the confidence intervals of our estimate. Furthermore, we found regional declines in moor macaque encounter rates in at least two sites compared with previous studies. We found a high presence of anthropogenic activity in the forests inhabited by macaques. Moor macaques were less abundant in open areas with no forest (i.e., clear cuttings) than in forested areas, and in the presence of nonspecies-specific hunting traps (i.e., wire-loop traps). Moreover, moor macaques were more abundant in areas with a higher presence of humans and domestic animals. Overall, our data suggest that the population of this species may be declining in certain regions but further surveys are needed to corroborate whether this is occurring across the entire geographic distribution. Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the association of the HtrA1 rs11200638 polymorphism with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) in Indonesia. Methods: This case–control study included 80 patients with nAMD and 85 controls. Demographic parameters and whole blood were collected from each participant. Genomic DNA was extracted and used to assess the rs11200638 genotype by PCR and restriction enzyme digestion. Associations between the HtrA1 rs11200638 polymorphism and other risk factors for susceptibility to nAMD were assessed using the logistic regression model. Results: Significant allelic associations between the HtrA1 polymorphism and nAMD were detected (odds ratio [OR] 8.67; 95% confidence interval [CI] 4.88–15.41; P < 0.001). Genotype analysis showed a statistical difference between the nAMD group and the control group (P < 0.001). In the multiple adjusted logistic regression model, people with the AA genotype were more likely to have nAMD although there was a wide confidence interval (OR 19.65; 95% CI 4.52–85.38; P < 0.001). Restoration and water table control on peatlands to limit fire risk are national priorities in Indonesia. The present study was initiated at Padang Island, Sumatra, to increase understanding on peatland hydrology in the tropic. At the pilot site, water table and precipitation were monitored at different stations. The results show variation in water table depths (WTDs) over time and space due to spatial and temporal variability in rain intensity and drainage networks. In part of the island, large-scale drainage for plantations led to deep WTD (-1.8 m) and high WTD recession rates (up to 3.5 cm/day). Around villages, farm-scale drainages had a smaller impact with a lower recession rate (up to 1.8 cm/day) and shallow WTD, typically below -0.4 m, the threshold for sustainable peatland management in Indonesia. The recession rates levelled off at 1.0 cm/day near the drained forest/plantation and at 0.5 cm/day near the farm. Deeper layers had much lower specific yield (Sy), 0.1 at -1.5 m depth, compared with top peat soils with Sy up to 0.3. Proximity to drainages extended discharge flow to deeper layers. The results highlighted the severity of peatland drainage impact on most coastal zones of Padang Island, which have intensive drainage networks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research examined thermal comfort in church buildings in Indonesia by making a comparison between three different Indonesian climatic regions using three different research models. A static model, an adaptation study model and a CFD simulation were used to find the similarities and differences between the results generated from determining thermal comfort in church buildings in the three regions. The comparison revealed that church buildings had different PMV scores at each measuring point that were inversely proportional to the subjects' response on thermal comfort inside the buildings, i.e. points adjoining with openings affect a low PMV score and a high perceived thermal sensation, and vice versa. The CFD simulation showed that changing the conditions of the openings affects air velocity and flow into the building, which influences the subjects' thermal comfort response inside the churches. Background  Locally advanced breast cancer is commonly found in Indonesia. In this group of patients, aggressive treatment such as axillary lymph nodes dissection (ALND) with or without regional nodal irradiation (RNI) will increase the risk of breast cancer treatment-related lymphedema (BCRL) in our patients. Lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA) has been established as a minimally invasive approach in lymphedema surgery. In this study, we report our first experience of LVAs in BCRL patients. Methods  This was a cross-sectional study taken from breast cancer patients receiving ALND with or without RNI. From December 2018 until June 2020, we collected and described general patient information, tumor characteristics, diagnostic methods, and the outcome of LVA. Postoperative subjective symptoms scores (lymphedema quality-of-life score [LeQOLiS]) and lymphedematous volume (upper extremity lymphedema [UEL] index) were compared with preoperative ones. Results  Seventy patients experienced BCRL with the mean age of 54.8 (9.4) years and mean body mass index of 28.1 (4.5). ALND was performed in 66 (97.1%) cases and RNI was given in 58 (82.9%) patients. Thirty-one (44.3%) patients were in the International Society of Lymphology stage 1, 24 (34.3%) in stage 2A, and 15 (21.4%) in stage 2B. The mean lymphatic vessel diameter was 0.5 (0.26) mm and 0.80 (0.54) mm for the vein. Lymphosclerosis severity was 7 (4%) in S0 type, 129 (74.1%) in S1 type, 37 (21.3%) in S2 type, and 1 (0.6%) in S3 type. In histopathology examination, S1 types were in lower grade injury, while S2 and S3 types were in the higher grade. Seven (53.8%) cases of S2 type showed severe fibrosis from trichrome staining. Postoperative LeQOLiSs were significantly lower than preoperative ones (5.6 ± 2.4 vs. 3.7 ± 2.6; p  = 0.000). With the mean follow-up of 7.4 (3.7) months, the overall UEL index reduction was 9.2%; mean –11 (16.8). Postoperative UEL index was significantly lower than preoperative ones (117.7 ± 26.5 vs. 106.9 ± 18.5; p  = 0.000). No complications were observed during this period. Conclusion  LVA reduced the subjective symptoms and UEL index in BCRL cases. A growing body of research focuses on how anthropogenic factors affect the behavior and ecology of primates and their ecosystems. Infrastructural development, such as roads, is an increasingly pervasive anthropogenic impact that destroys primate habitat, affects the distribution and dispersal of primates, and facilitates human–primate interactions. At our field site in Bantimurung-Bulusaraung National Park, Sulawesi, Indonesia, a major road bisects the habitat of the endangered moor macaque (Macaca maura). Beginning in 2015, we observed a behavioral shift by our main study group: they began spending more time along the road foraging in trash pits and waiting for provisions from vehicles. Our objective in this study was to examine how access to anthropogenic foods has affected the group's ranging behavior by comparing ranging data collected before (2010–2011) and after the shift (2016–2017). In contrast to what we expected, home ranges were significantly larger and daily travel distance was significantly longer after the shift compared to before. As predicted, mean distance to the road decreased after the shift. These results likely reflect the irregular and spatially dispersed nature of provisioning at this site. The macaques appear to be attracted to the road because it presents opportunities to obtain palatable and energy-dense foods. Our results indicate that moor macaques are able to flexibly adjust their ranging behavior in response to anthropogenic impacts. The objective of this study is to evaluate influence of growth potential, profitability, company size, ratio between capital structure and its target, short-term loan, asset maturity, growth of GDP and inflation rate towards capital structure SOA. The study involved secondary data in the form of financial reports from manufacturing companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange (ISE) published in ISE website, www.idx.co.id, and National Bureau of Statistics data about Indonesian economy published in www.bps.go.id, National Bureau of Statistics. From the result of partial adjustment model estimation, significant leverage lag shows that Indonesian manufacturing companies adjust their capital structure towards target leverage with SOA of 64.73% per year. This finding confirms in Darminto and Manurung (J Bus Manag 1(1):35–52, 2008) that capital structure SOA of Indonesian companies is relatively faster than that in the developed countries like USA (30%) (Flannery and Rangan in J Financ Econ 79(3):469–506. http://doi.org/10.1016/j.jfineco.2005.03.004, 2006). This review discusses the thermal performance of traditional buildings in Indonesia. It is intended to see the impact of the traditional architectural design and its thermal comfort in the warm humid climate of Indonesia. The literature review was taken from 16 articles which cover Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the Nusa Tenggara region. The articles were classified into tropical climates (Af), monsoon tropics (Am) and savanna (Af) groups to identify which architectural elements in traditional buildings contributes to thermal comfort. The aim of this study was to determine the association of internet access frequency with knowledge of danger signs in pregnancy among women of childbearing age. Data obtained from the Indonesia Demographic Health Survey 2017, which interviewed and obtained complete data for 23,849 women of childbearing age, was analyzed using Cox regression with statistical significance defined by a 95% confidence interval. Sample prevalence of women of childbearing age who had a good knowledge of danger signs was 31.9%; respondents who access the internet every day made up 31.4% of the sample. Our sample was predominantly women 35-44 years old (29.1%), living in urban areas (55.7%), with a secondary education level (54.7%), and working (54.7%). A significant association was shown between internet access and the participants' knowledge of danger signs in pregnancy, with an adjusted prevalence ratio of 1.27, 95% CI [1.20-1.35]. The Fungus is a very important microorganism as a producer of bioactive secondary metabolites. Active substances of microbial origin have been sought through the process of screening methods to obtain antimicrobial compounds. The purpose of this study was to isolate fungi associated with sponge taken from Menjangan Island National Park West Bali (Indonesia) and identify fungi that have antimicrobial activity. Isolation of fungus from sponge was carried out by spread plate method using Saboroud Saline Agar medium. Each fungi will be tested to Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Identification of fungi is based on the observation of macroscopic, microscopic and also using 16rRNA/ITS phylogeny tree. The results showed that S. flabelliformis sponge had 10 fungal isolates. Most of them have antimicrobial activity. • Significant differences were observed in some methylation scores between different nationalities. • Including race information may increase DNA methylation age estimation accuracy in some cases. • MS-HRM can be a convenient method for age estimation via RT-PCR. Age estimation of unidentified bodies is of marked importance in forensic medicine. In previous studies, the analysis of DNA methylation in body fluids led to the identification of several age-related CpG sites in genes such as EDARADD and FHL2. However, limited information is available on whether interethnic differences may affect the age prediction results. In the present study, we examined the effect of ethnicity on the age prediction method based on methylation scores, which were determined via methylation-sensitive high-resolution melting. We found that there was a significant difference in methylation scores between Japanese and Indonesian participants of early 20 s group, and that the nationality coefficient was significant for age estimation when applying the existing method for the analysis of the methylation status of EDARADD and FHL2. This suggests that when using certain biochemical indicators as a predictor of age, the effects of ethnicity on DNA methylation should be considered to improve the accuracy of the estimation. Objective: Streptococcus suis (S. suis) is a causative agent for various syndromes in pigs. It can be transmitted to humans with typical symptoms of meningitis and death. Although human infections have been confirmed at Bali Referral Hospital, Indonesia, since 2014, the bacteria have not been isolated from pigs. Here, we provide confirmation of the presence of the bacteria in sick pigs in the province. Results: Streptococcus suis was confirmed in 8 of 30 cases. The final confirmation was made using PCR and sequencing of the glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) and recombination/repair protein (recN) gene fragments. Upon PCR serotyping, two were confirmed to be serotype 2 or 1/2. Prominent histopathological lesions of confirmed cases were meningitis, endocarditis, pericarditis, bronchopneumonia, enteritis and glomerulonephritis. The dominant inflammatory cells were neutrophils and macrophages. Further research is needed to understand the risk factors for human infection. Background: After the first six months of exclusive breastfeeding, children are introduced to liquids and semi-solid food, known as the complementary feeding phase. This phase is critical because it is often accompanied by improper feeding in children, which may lead to wasting and other nutrition problems. Fortified biscuits have been provided for wasting children as a nationwide programme. However, the ability of children to accept food supplementation remains questionable. This paper describes the protocol of a study investigating the efficacy of food supplementation (PMT biscuit) and nutrition education to improve the nutritional status of wasting children in Indonesia.Method: The efficacy of a government food supplementation programme will be examined using a randomized control trial design. Parents with wasting children aged 6-17 months will be recruited to participate in the study. After obtaining informed consent and pre-intervention measures, participants will be assigned into three arms of intervention with PMT biscuits and/or nutrition education only. The two primary outcomes for this study are the nutritional status of wasting children and PMT biscuit compliance. Characteristics of all subjects in each arm will be analysed and compared with each other to assess their comparability at the beginning. The data will be collected at pre-intervention, at 3 months of intervention, post-intervention, and at the 6- to 9-month follow up.Discussion: This paper aims to describe the study protocol of a randomized controlled trial investigating the effects of different PMT biscuit portion and nutrition education in two arms and nutrition education only in another arm. Background and Aim: Several free-roaming dogs can be easily found in the public areas of Bali. They go out in search of foods and friends and defecate everywhere. In general, these groups of dogs do not receive good healthcare from their owners and are generally threatened by some disease-causing organisms, especially helminths. This study was conducted to identify and measure the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) that cause infection in free-roaming dogs in Bali Province, Indonesia. Materials and Methods: A total of 1611 fresh dog fecal samples were collected from all areas of Bali Province and subjected to qualitative fecal examination using flotation techniques to obtain STH eggs. Results: The incidence of STHs in free-roaming dogs was 38.36%. However, three types of STHs were identified, including Ancylostoma spp., Ascaris spp., and Trichuris spp. Ancylostoma spp. had the highest prevalence of 37.8%, followed by Ascaris spp. and Trichuris spp. at 6.02% and 0.87%, respectively. Multiple infections of these worms were also recorded. The polyparasitism prevalence of Ancylostoma spp. and Ascaris spp. was 3.85%, followed by that of Ancylostoma spp. and Trichuris spp. at 0.5% and that of Ascaris spp. and Trichuris spp. at 0.06%. There were no altitude-wise differences in the prevalence of STH infection. Conclusion: The prevalence of STHs was high in free-roaming dogs. Background: Varicocelectomy is performed on patients with clinical varicocele associated with abnormal sperm parameters. The goal of this procedure is to improve men's sperm parameters and pregnancy rates of their partners. The objective of our study was to assess the factors that were associated with spontaneous pregnancy in female partners after varicocelectomy. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted to review several factors that are associated with spontaneous pregnancy after varicocelectomy. The data were taken from medical records at Sanglah General Hospital and three private hospitals in Denpasar from January 2015 to June 2016. Case subjects [n=38] include varicocele patients with abnormal sperm parameters whose partner had a spontaneous pregnancy following varicocelectomy and a control group [n=38] whose partner did not have a spontaneous pregnancy following varicocelectomy. Results: Progressive sperm motility [≥37.5%] before varicocelectomy was 2.7 times more likely to result in a spontaneous pregnancy (odds ratio: 2.7; 95% confidence interval: 1.04-6.96; p=0.04). No statistical significance was found between age at varicocelectomy, grade of varicocele, body mass index, infertility duration, smoking habit, sperm concentration, normal sperm morphology before varicocelectomy, and spontaneous pregnancy. Conclusion: Progressive sperm motility before varicocelectomy is a significant factor for the occurrence of spontaneous pregnancy after varicocelectomy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The design of future transportation energy mix has become an important issue in Indonesia. Oil-based fuels such as gasoline and diesel seems to be infeasible options in the future due to limited availability, high subsidy, and environmental issues. This paper presents energy mix model for transportation sector in Indonesia. The model considers a variety of feasible technology options and includes three competing objectives, i.e., energy consumption, fuel subsidy, and CO 2 emission. Scenarios were developed to include business as usual (BAU), the introduction of compress natural gas (CNG) technology, vehicle retirement program, the implementation of hybrid vehicles energy mix which considers future behavioral factors. The result indicates that the most effective strategy to reduce energy consumption and eventually fuel subsidy is through retirement program of old vehicles. The introduction of the CNG vehicle on public transportation appears to give little significance in reducing the annual subsidy costs, fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ecohydrological studies in tropical peatland have mostly focused on a small number of non-native commercial species. However, studies of native species are urgently needed as they are considered to be a possible solution in the restoration of millions of hectares of degraded tropical peatlands. We investigated peatland species on Padang Island, Indonesia, to assess their responses to changing environmental factors, particularly the high fluctuation of the water table due to intensive peatland draining. We monitored the sap-flux velocity and radial growth of six trees (four native and one non-native peatland species) in high temporal resolution using sap-flux meters and dendrometers up to seven months. Monitoring also included hydrological and micrometeorological parameters. We found that sap-flux velocity in the monitored species was mainly controlled by air vapor pressure deficits, photosynthetic active radiation, and to some extent, by wind speed and water-table depth. We also observed a species-specific correlation between daily sap-flux velocity and daily radial growth. Non-native Acacia crassicarpa had up to twice the radial growth of native species. This growth of non-native species was significantly higher at a shallow water-table depth, while native species did not show the same relationship. The interaction between water-table depth, sap-flux velocity, and radial growth in daily timescale was not straightforward, presumably because of the complex carbon-allocation mechanism in trees. Abstract: Climatic hazards, such as severe droughts and floods, affect extensive areas across monsoon Asia and can have profound impacts on the populations of that region. The area surrounding Indonesia, including large portions of the eastern Indian Ocean and Java Sea, plays a key role in the global climate system because of the enormous heat and moisture exchange that occurs between the ocean and atmosphere there. Here, we evaluate the influence of rainfall variability on multiple tree-ring parameters of teak (Tectona grandis) trees growing in a lowland rain forest in Central Java (Indonesia). We assess the potential of, annually resolved, tree-ring width, stable carbon (δ13C) and oxygen (δ18O) isotope records to improve our understanding of the Asian monsoon variability. Climate response analysis with regional, monthly rainfall data reveals that all three tree-ring parameters are significantly correlated to rainfall, albeit during different monsoon seasons. Precipitation in the beginning of the rainy season (Sep–Nov) is important for tree-ring width, confirming previous studies. Compared to ring width, the stable isotope records possess a higher degree of common signal, especially during portions of the peak rainy season (δ13C: Dec–May; δ18O: Nov–Feb) and are negatively correlated to rainfall. In addition, tree-ring δ18O also responds positively to peak dry season rainfall, although the δ18O rainy season signal is stronger and more time-stable. The correlations of opposite sign reflect the distinct seasonal contrast of the δ18O signatures in rainfall (18OPre) during the dry (18O-enriched rain) and rainy (18O-depleted rain) seasons. This difference in 18OPre signal reflects the combination of two signals in the annual tree-ring δ18O record. Highly resolved intra-annual δ18O isotope analyses suggest that the signals of dry and rainy season can be distinguished clearly. Thereby reconstructions can improve our understanding of variations and trends of the hydrological cycle over the Indonesian archipelago. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
