In the electronic information age, consortiums are gaining more importance. The consortia movement has entered libraries and has received attention from the information-producing community. CeRA consortium is a tremendously great effort on the part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to propose single-window access to e-resources to State Agricultural Universities (SAU)/ICAR institutes all over India. CeRA subscribed to e-Resources and create/facilitate an e-environment and e-access culture for faculty, scientists, research scholars, and students in the National Agricultural Research and Education System. The current study attempts to understand the access and use of CeRA among the researchers and PG students of the KRC College of Horticulture, Arabhavi (UHS, Bagalkot). This paper presents the results of a study conducted on the use of internet services ofNehru Library, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. Survey method was used to collect the data from the users with the help of structured questionnaires. The present study examined the different aspects of internet searching behavior of the students. The study shows that 35.52% of the users having more than 4 year experience with internet. The majority of the users i.e. 28.94% access the internet at daily basis. The most preferred place of using internet was 67.76% at Nehru Library. Most of the users were using internet for the web based library resources like CeRA, Indiastat, Krishi Prabha (etheses), e-learning portal and Britannica online etc. Google was the most favorite search engine among the users. Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA) provides access to about 2,900 scholarly journals including almost 300 journals in veterinary science and related fields such as dairy science and technology, biotechnology, and fisheries. This article presents the results of a study assessing the utilization of CeRA by faculty of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana (Punjab), India. Data was collected via questionnaire with a response rate of 95%. Among the factors assessed are user awareness of CeRA, purpose of use, sources of information about consortium, search strategies used to access articles, users’ opinion about usefulness of consortium, and problems faced by them in using CeRA. The present study attempts to highlight the present status of awareness and use of E-journals and CDROM database service among the faculty of Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. Information or data from faculty was collected through the well structured questionnaires cum interview method. A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed among the random sample of faculty members of selected disciplines of College of Agriculture. Out of 100 questionnaires, a total of 70 questionnaires were collected. Lastly, on the basis of the analysis and interpretation of data, the paper provides some important findings regarding the awareness and use of E-journals and CDROM database service. The paper provides the brief background of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It elaborates the National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP) and the components of the National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) with special reference to the Component-I under which all the important and most innovative web-based projects, i.e., KrishiPrabha, CeRA, and e-Granth falls. The overview of these projects including objectives and deliverables has been highlighted especially keeping in view of the current scenario of the NARS institutions. It further elaborates the rationale, mission and objectives of the projects, the methodologies, and work programs. It also shows the directions and outcomes of the projects. The present study is an effort to evaluate the use of digital resources by the library users of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar. The study was conducted by using a structured questionnaire, interview with the users and personal observations. The study highlights the frequency of Internet use, awareness and usage of digital resources, use of databases and problems faced by users in accessing these resources.
