Abstract

Researchers from Tamil Nadu, India have synthesized and characterized a novel thiosemicarbazone ligand based on imidazole and its metal complexes. The complexes showed strong binding affinity towards DNA, with complex 1 exhibiting the highest binding affinity. Complex 2 showed potential as a protein binder and displayed antioxidant activity. The findings suggest that complexes 1 and 2 have potential as DNA and protein targeting agents for further research in chemotherapeutic applications. [Extracted from the article]
