Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the composition of the oil extracted from Limonia acidissima. The study collected leaf samples of L. acidissima from various places located in Western Ghats, India wherein the aerial parts were distilled through hydrodistillation with the Clevenger-type apparatus for oil extracts. The study employed gas chromatographic analysis to the essential oil samples which indicates that primary components include β-pinene, limonene, and methyl chavicol.
