It is believed abstraction that the Planets and stars influence human health and psychology is a popular notion in astrological science in India. However, debates are still ongoing about the exact effects and their extent and quality. This study aims to deduce the correlation between unnatural deaths in different age groups and the lunar cycle in 2819 cases. The cases were selected from the dead bodies brought into the mortuary of the department for medico-legal postmortem examination from the various police stations of Varanasi between the duration of 1st January 2013 to 17th July 2014. The compiled data were studied and analyzed statistically by employing the ‘one-way parametric ANOVA.’ It was observed that out of 2819 cases the most affected age group was between 21-40 years (52.4%) followed by the age group 41-60 years (23.1%) and 13-20 years (13.7%). The insignificant rise in unnatural death among different phases of the lunar cycle of different age groups indicates minimal correlation and association with the lunar cycle. India accompanies the world witnessing a rapidly spreading global pandemic of Covid-19. On 24 March, the Government of India ordered a nationwide lockdown that triggered the mass migration of daily wages workers back to their native states. Without prior testing for SARS-CoV-2, it imposed a new challenge towards the authorities to prevent the possible spread of infection. The study aims to determine the infection status of migrants who died in the jurisdiction of Varanasi district during their journey and the possible risk of spread of Covid-19 to frontline workers. The study was conducted between 24 March 2020 and 10 July 2020. A total of 6 cases came to our department who died during travel. The nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs were taken after the body arrived in the mortuary and sent for detection of SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR method to the Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology of our Institute. A total of six cases were included in this study, of which 3 were positive for SARS-CoV-2 while others were negative. None of them had symptoms of Covid-19 infection, such as respiratory difficulties, sore throat or fever. The guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare were limited in scope to hospital deaths and lacked guidelines to be followed by police personnel while investigating unnatural deaths. This brings the police personnel at risk of contracting Covid-19 infection as the cases are getting tested after the arrival at mortuary. Background and Objectives: The study was undertaken with the objective to provide data on the ABO and Rh(D) blood group distribution and gene frequency across India. Materials and Methods: A total of 10,000 healthy blood donors donating in blood banks situated in five different geographical regions of the country (North, South, East and Center) were included in the study. ABO and Rh (D) grouping was performed on all these samples. Data on the frequency of ABO and Rh(D) blood groups was reported in simple numbers and percentages. Results: The study showed that O was the most common blood group (37.12%) in the country closely followed by B at 32.26%, followed by A at 22.88% while AB was the least prevalent group at 7.74%. 94.61% of the donor population was Rh positive and the rest were Rh negative. Regional variations were observed in the distribution. Using the maximum likelihood method, the frequencies of the IA, IB and IOalleles were calculated and tested according to the Hardy Weinberg law of Equilibrium. The calculated gene frequencies are 0.1653 for IA (p), 0.2254 for IB (q) and 0.6093 for IO (r). In Indian Population, O (r) records the highest value followed by B (q) and A (p); O > B > A. Conclusion: The study provides information about the relative distribution of various alleles in the Indian population both on a pan-India basis as well as region-wise. As the Indian government opened telecommunication sector for foreign players, it has also become increasingly competitive. In such an environment, marketers are concerned about how to increase or maintain market share through better service quality. The paper presents the results of an empirical study in Dehradun, India that determines the dimensions of service quality in the Indian mobile telecommunication industry, from the consumers' perspective. Exploratory factor analysis revealed 8 dimensions made up of 32 different attributes derived from literature. The eight dimensions were Employee Performance, transmission Quality, Competitiveness, Credibility, Reliability, Support Attributes, Operational Efficiency, and Convenience. This article builds a basic understanding about Geographical Indications. An introduction to Intellectual Property Rights in general is given for understanding the basic need for Geographical Indications. The development of concept of Geographical Indications is quite old. However it is with globalization that 'protection' of Geographical Indications is needed to avoid unfair competition and to compensate those, whose pains and labour builds that goodwill about goods of particular regions. World Trade Organisation has been instrumental in bringing about uniformity in legislations around the world on this issue. Through its conventions, 'TRIPS' has emerged as the binding force to control infringement across the borders of a country. India has responded to this by enacting the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act, 1999. The number of applications with the registry of Geographical Indications are indicating that lot has to be done to sensitize people about the commercial issues involved with Geographical Indications. • We utilized a Bayesian time-varying parameters VAR model with stochastic volatility. • Dynamics is analyzed among the consumption of hydroelectricity vs. coal, CO 2 emissions and economic growth. • We find evidence of stochastic volatility in consumption of hydroelectricity and coal. We apply a three-variable VAR model with probabilistic variability using a time-varying parametric approach to determine the dynamic interactions among GDP growth, energy use by renewable energy sources (RES, wind, solar, or hydro) and non-renewable energy sources (NRES, hydroelectric or coal) and CO2 emission. Further, we characterize and quantify the impact of the nexus on the CO2 emissions, energy sources (RES and NRES) vis-à-vis India's economic growth and fluctuations during 1965Q1-2015Q4. We contribute to the literature by finding that stochastic volatility for RES and NRES appear to be U-shaped besides using TVP-VAR model to the Indian context. This U-shaped pattern seems to be related to economic growth. We also observe the time-varying patterns of the impact transmission mechanisms among energy sources, CO2 emissions, and GDP. In addition, the impulse response of GDP from a positive shock to CO2 varies with the type of energy use in different time horizons. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
