Abstract

The article offers information on a study that explores relationships among modern land use, presettlement vegetation, and urban forest canopy structure, size structure, and composition in the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan region. The study investigated patterns in species composition and forest structure across the urban forest continuum of the Chicago metropolitan region. It examined the primary gradients in species composition and structure in the urban forest.
