The authors assess a research which evaluates the association between migraine in middle age and late-life infarct-like lesions using the Age Gene/Environment Susceptibility (AGES)-Reykjavic Study in Iceland. They cite the strengths of the study including its prospective design and long length follow-up. They note the elusiveness of the nature of the infarct-like lesions observed on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). They warn that the clinical implications of the AGES-Reykjavik study should be cautiously interpreted.
