The article reports on the Palaeolithic research at the Institute of Archaeology. The Institute has been an important center of research on Pleistocene environments and Palaeolithic archaeology since its foundation in 1937. The Institute's staff outline their research on archaeology of human evolution, human dispersals in Europe, adaptations to past environments in the Iberian Peninsula, and subsistence changes since the most recent glacial epoch.
