Abstract

The article presents a study which focuses on the assessment of the website www.HoustonHealth Choice.org in terms of consumer's awareness and the perceived usefulness of the website's offered information. The study utilized a cross-sectional survey which was conducted from December 2008 to April 2009 and involves 370 consumers across the Houston, Texas area. Results show that 80% of the populations were unaware of the website's existence, thus, promotions from the City of Houston is needed.

Abstract

The article discusses a study on the pharmacists' perception about reimbursement rates and processing time for prescription drug claims processed for Medicare Part D, Medicaid and commercial managed care plans. The study was conducted from May 2009 to August 2009 and used a cross-sectional survey design among the processing claims in independent pharmacies in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area. The study concluded that pharmacists perceive a lack of improvement in the processing time and reimbursement rates across the three insurance payers.
