Abstract

The article offers information on a cross-over study in which telemedicine was used as a communication tool for diabetic patients to obtain dietary information in absence of dietitian. A database containing information about the nutrient contents of commonly consumed foods in Hong Kong, China was created. The system offered information about the patients' diets. The process of data entry and documentation of foods consumed increased awareness of patients about food intake.
