Protecting and inheriting traditional farming culture is of great practical significance to speeding up agricultural and rural modernization and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization. By the comprehensive analysis of the connotation of the traditional farming culture, the characteristics of the Lingnan farming culture, the innovation and development of the modern agriculture in Guangdong, and the protection and inheritance of the Lingnan farming culture, it is found that the protection of farming culture in Lingnan has some problems, such as unclear in the base number of heritage resources, the small number of cultural heritage, lack of coordination with the leapfrog development of modern agriculture, and out of synchronization with the “going out” development of agriculture. It is suggested that the following countermeasures should be taken: 1) to expand the scope of investigation and research for finding out the base number of Lingnan traditional farming culture resources; 2) to attach importance to the excavation and identification work for enrich the total amount of important agricultural cultural heritage; 3) to give full play to the value of farming culture for expanding agricultural functions to empower rural revitalization; 4) to focus on the cultivation of talent literacy for ensuring the enduring prosperity of the traditional farming culture; 5) to strengthen the dissemination and popularization of traditional farming culture for enhancing the influence of Lingnan agricultural culture.
