Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is one of the most common chronic pain syndromes. In a representative survey, 2.1% of the German population was affected in 2013, whereby the diagnosis can only be made on the basis of subjective complaints. This article should provide concrete information on the disease concept, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation and socialmedical assessment at the FMS. Botrytis cinerea is one of the most important pathogens worldwide, causing gray mold on a large variety of crops. Botrytis pseudocinerea has been found previously to occur together with B. cinerea in low abundance in vineyards and strawberry fields. Here, we report B. pseudocinerea to be common and sometimes dominant over B. cinerea on several fruit and vegetable crops in Germany. On apples with calyx end rot and on oilseed rape, it was the major gray mold species. Abundance of B. pseudocinerea was often negatively correlated with fungicide treatments. On cultivated strawberries, it was frequently found in spring but was largely displaced by B. cinerea following fungicide applications. Whereas B. cinerea strains with multiple-fungicide resistance were common in these fields, B. pseudocinerea almost never developed resistance to any fungicide even though resistance mutations occurred at similar frequencies in both species under laboratory conditions. The absence of resistance to quinone outside inhibitors in B. pseudocinerea was correlated with an intron in cytB preventing the major G143A resistance mutation. A bacterial strain named IGB-41(T) was isolated from a soil sample from an ant hill near Stuttgart, Germany. The strain was Gram-negative, rod-shaped, motile and facultatively anaerobic. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA grouped the strain IGB-41(T) within the class Betaproteobacteria into the family Neisseriaceae together with Silvimonas amylolytica NBRC 103189(T), Silvimonas iriomotensis NBRC 103188(T) and Silvimonas terrae KM-45(T) as the closest relatives with sequence similarities of 96.7, 96.6 and 96.1 %, respectively. The G+C content of the genomic DNA was determined to be 61.5 mol% and quinone analysis revealed Q-8 as the only detectable quinone. Major cellular fatty acids were identified as C(16 : 0), summed feature 3 (iso-C(15 : 0) 2-OH and/or C(16 : 1)ω7c) and C(18 : 1)ω7c . Strain IGB-41(T) was unique in harbouring phosphoaminolipids, aminolipids and glycoaminolipids when compared with Silvimonas amylolytica NBRC 103189(T) in polar lipid analysis. On the basis of the physiological, phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of strain IGB-41(T), we suggest that the novel strain should be assigned to a new genus Amantichitinum and novel species Amantichitinum ursilacus. The type species of the genus Amantichitinum is Amantichitinum ursilacus and the type strain is IGB-41(T) (=DSM 23761(T) =CIP 110167(T)).

Psychosomatic disease patterns are a common differential diagnosis for orthopedic symptoms. Furthermore, mental factors, such as the method of disease processing or mental comorbidities, such as depression or somatization disorders have a great influence on the chronification of orthopedic complaints and the outcome following orthopedic interventions. The aim of this article is to present the psychosomatic pathomechanisms and disease patterns relevant for orthopedics and to derive recommendations for physician-patient communication, diagnostics, therapy and assessment.

Introduction: The treatment of acutely ill patients who presumably lack the insight or judgement to determine their need for medical treatment, is a difficult challenge for emergency physicians. We have carried out a study to assess the frequency and relevance of involuntary treatment and procedures in medical emergency services., Methods: Retrospective chart analysis for a 1-year period was performed for all treatment protocols of a medical emergency service unit and for all court-ordered treatments of a guardianship court. Cases of involuntary treatment by emergency physicians were identified and analysed., Results: In 10.4% of all emergency calls analysed a relevant and acute psychiatric condition was found. In 0.3% of the cases or 4.8% of the psychiatric cases, involuntary inpatient commitment was chosen by the emergency physician., Discussion: Involuntary inpatient commitment by emergency physicians was only necessary in relatively few cases. Nevertheless, in order to be able to correctly consider treatment and management options, emergency physicians should be aware of the basic conditions for treatment without a patient's consent.

One hundred eighty-six players of 16 teams in 2 male team handball senior divisions were observed prospectively for 1 season to study the injury incidence in relation to exposure in games and practices. Ninety-one injuries were recorded. Injury incidence was evaluated at 2.5 injuries per 1000 player-hours, with a significantly higher incidence in game injuries (14.3 injuries per 1000 game-hours) compared with practice injuries (0.6 injuries per 1000 practice-hours). Practice injury incidence was higher in the lower performance level group, and game injury incidence was higher in the high-level group. The upper extremity was involved in 37% of the injuries, and the lower extremity in 54%. The knee was the most commonly injured joint, followed by the finger, ankle, and shoulder. Knee injuries were the most severe injuries, and they were more frequent in high-level players. There was an increase in the severity of injury with respect to performance level. The injury mechanism revealed a high number of offensive injuries, one-third of them occurring during a counterattack. The injury pattern showed certain variations with respect to player position and performance level. Prophylactic equipment was used by a majority of players at the higher performance level.
