The publication of research activities and results as well as the various participants pose major challenges for data exchange, exploration and visualization. The German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) has developed an open data portal for the National Academics Panel Study (Nacaps), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). With interactive graphics on topics such as doctoral conditions, career intentions, mobility and financing, the portal offers an overview of the life and work reality of doctoral students in Germany. Survey data is prepared in the data portal so that it can be used at a low threshold. Since the data is made available free of charge in open and reusable formats without restrictions, it can be used by researchers and the public alike. At the same time, the portal offers cooperating partner universities university-specific reporting on the data of doctoral students at their institution in a protected space. The possible further development and effective use of the Nacaps data portal for the management of open survey data will be discussed. In particular, the quality of open survey data as well as the potential and special features of the Nacaps data portal when visualizing survey data are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examines a model project initiated by a German Federal Ministry in the middle of the vast increase in forced migration to Germany after 2015. The project aimed at facilitating the integration of female refugees into German society by way of 'empowering' them to become self‐employed. A business counseling agency with a feminist orientation was commissioned to design and run the project. Interpellating refugee women as subjects of entrepreneurial self‐actualization to enact gender equality, the project embodies a tangible example of postfeminist governmentality. Combining recent research on postfeminism with analytics of governmentality, the study directs its analytical gaze to the work of governing. This opens up a twofold perspective: it enables us to investigate the operation of governmental power in relation to its envisioned subjects, and how this power acts upon the subjects tasked with the work of governing in the contemporary organizational context. Drawing on qualitative interviews and documentary materials within an "ethnographic imaginary", we examine, first, the assemblage of elements that made up the fabric of postfeminist governmentality in the governmental intervention at hand and what happened when the governmental attempts "hit the ground" met—and failed to meet—the diverse bodies of the envisioned participants. This perspective illustrates how the logic of postfeminist governmentality radically failed when it came to differences deriving from the structural positioning of the women, but also indicates moments of agency and resistance and the perspectives for those who were able and willing to access the offered subject position. Second, the analysis shows how this failure affected the women involved less than the female project manager who was to bear the consequences. In this respect, the analysis sheds light on the amount of practical and emotional work that the task of rendering the project nevertheless 'a success' required, the "hidden injuries" this work involved, and how this work ultimately led to a reaffirmation of the logic of postfeminist governmentality. This research focused on a behavioral model as a significant tangible enabler for smart city plans and initiatives across Asian and EU regions as per transportation projects. This study aimed to create a behavioral model to serve as a planning tool for policymakers, planners, and implementers of transportation initiatives in smart cities. The paper discusses the validity of the proposed model framework for fostering the diffusion of a successful smart city project transformation in a general smart city ecosystem and particularly within the transportation industry. The framework was verified using three different methods: literature review to give a speculative understanding of current smart city approaches; case studies from Germany and South Korea smart city ecosystems that were selected and applied against the behavioral model; and finally, desktop research (behavioral model) performed for smart city project development. As a result, the authors recognized key variables for deriving a possible successful behavioral model as a suggested efficient framework for further smart city strategic projects. Researchers developed and tested, with two validated examples, the suggested behavioral model for smart city projects with a focus on the transportation industry. Results of this survey could help stakeholders in different countries analyze factors influencing decision-making processes and adopt smart city projects to local business environments. Since the first recommendation for HPV vaccination in Germany (2007), a rising number of projects aiming to increase HPV vaccination coverage in Germany have been conducted. From October 2019 to February 2020, we systematically searched for data (project description, evaluation reports) on projects in Germany that aimed to increase HPV vaccination rates. The aim was to provide a comprehensive overview of these projects (duration, implementing organisation, target group/addressees, setting, strategies, reach) and to gain insights for optimising future projects. The inventory of these projects shows that most of the projects focused on the education of children, adolescents and parents, as well as on the training of medical staff. The school was the main setting for education. Rarely were the recorded projects conducted on a long-term and comprehensive basis. It was not possible to make a statement about the impact of the different projects within the framework of this review, as evaluation reports were not available for most of the projects. To optimise the impact on increasing HPV vaccination rates, future projects should be planned on a long-term and nationwide basis. This report offers an insight into the project enabling the search for NS-Raubgut (Nazi loot) in the collections of the Württemberg State Library which started in June 2016. It describes the selection of the collections to be examined, the registration and presentation of the finds as well as first results which in two cases have already led to quite concrete possibilities of a restitution to heirs. Current and future fields of teaching are linked with the research emphasized by the department. Research includes external funds projects, research theses and project classes. The paper at hand raises the question of research at colleges and Universities of Applied Sciences in general, and displays a closer look at research efforts at the Department of Information Sciences at the UAS Potsdam in particular. It starts with an investigation of the general framework for research at colleges. Taking the example of the UAS Potsdam, it then illustrates additional research elements such as externally funded projects, sabbatical leaves for university teachers and options for publication – which research in general and foremost is associated with. It turns out that research is in its varied facets is extremely useful and necessary for practice-related teaching. An immediate, direct connection with teaching is crucial for colleges. The article looks back on about 10 years of activities of the German National Library in the field of long term preservation, values the initiation project kopal and reflects consequences arising from this project as well as the practical transformation of long term preservation into operational processing.
