The article focuses on the late Nicolaus Bruhns, a North German organ composer, organist and violinist, and provides an analysis of his organ works particularly the "Praeludium in E Minor (Great)." He was born in Schwabstedt, Schleswig-Holstein in 1665 and was sent to his uncle Peter Bruhns in Lübeck to study the violin and viola de gamba in 1681. It is said that the "Praeludium in E Minor (Great)" can be divided into five sections with free and fugal styles alternation.
