The article discusses the Arab-Israeli conflict as a conflict between the Big Dream and the Small Hope. The Big Dream is defined for Israelis as the disappearance of the Palestinians and the population of Eretz Israel purely by Jews. For Palestinians it is to exercise their right of return to their places of origin in the State of Israel. Both sides are said to teach their versions of the Big Dream in their education systems. The Small Hope is defined for both sides as a belief in peaceful coexistence of the two peoples and a two-state solution. Right of return would be exercised or compensated. Politics and religion would be discussed separately. The author calls for acknowledgment by both sides of their responsibility and guilt as a first step towards reconciliation.
