The article examines the sociopolitical dynamics among the nativists, reformists and undocumented people of Flagstaff, Arizona in their struggle against Senate Bill 1070 that seeks an injunction against the anti-immigrant law in the state. According to the article, the Flagstaff experience is not accurately about exclusion and citizenship but between exclusion and mobility. The struggle of undocumented workers in Flagstaff constitute a new conception of freedom that combines global locomotion with the ability to participate in local affairs.
