The article discusses a study regarding the vegetation of wetland for the investigation of the relationship between flooding tolerance and the metabolism of ecologically related groups of species. Vegetation was classified into ecological groups or set of quadrants so that they will contain major groups of coincident species. The data presented in the paper were acquired form two different surveys, the first one taken from a wetland vegetation, north of the Isle of Arran, Buteshire, Scotland. The other took place at the reserve in Nature Conservancy's in Tentsmuir, Fife, Scotland. A method that can be used to analyze ecological surveys by computers that has limited high speed storage is also suggested.
