The economic crisis following the financial meltdown in 2007 had disparate impacts for citizens of the southern and northern Eurozone member states. In this study, we analyze public debates in Germany and Greece, two countries that have attracted global attention during the crisis, through a political claims analysis based on newspaper articles published between 2005 and 2014. The article makes use of multiple correspondence analysis to detect the patterns governing the discursive construction of the European financial and economic crisis. Our findings corroborate the expected differences between the Greek and German debates in regard to core issues and assessments. However, the de-alignment of political cleavages in both countries is notable and stresses seemingly an underlying mainstreaming process that limits the diversity of crisis-related claims. The article provides information on the nutritional and health claims that fall under the scope of Article 10(3) of Regulation of European Commission (EC) 1924/2006. The claims under the article 10(3) means that reference to general, non specific benefits of the nutrient or food for overall good health or health-related well-being may only be made, if accompanied by a specific health claim. The article offers opportunity to food firms to maintain a wide array of health claims on the market.

The article offers updates on the law and legal practice in the travel industry. A study on obligatory airline charges among consumers by the Norwegian Ombudsman Bjørn Erik Thon reveals that airlines are frequently involved on including parts of their basic operational costs into obligatory taxes and charges handed to consumers based from an investigation that covered 281 flights, 24 leading airlines and 34 major airports. The European Commission has been canvassing on how consumer can best progress their claims when large number of claimants are involved. Moreover, the European has launched a review on the Package Holiday Directive regarding on its implementation and applicability on the financial protection among travel agencies and consumer since the legislation is out of date.
