The article offers information about the photoelastic tomography wherein it is considered as a nondestructive way of calculating three-dimensional (3D) stress fields. There are also important features of the photoelastic tomography in linear approximation including the determination of the stress field is decomposed to the measurement of a single stress component at a time. These measurements were taken through an automatic polariscope. The article also presents an approximation of the precision of the measurements.
