Abstract

The article provides information on the study which reveals the sixth case of a European bat lyssavirus type 2 (EBLV-2) positive Daubenton's bat in Shropshire, England since 1996. Researchers noted that the new case from Shropshire represents 4% of all bats submitted for rabies testing that consists of three adult females, three immature females, and one adult male. The said case was investigated after an adult female Daubenton's bat was found at Stokesay Castle on August 12, 2007.
