Abstract

The article discusses the early drawings of Bolsover Castle in England. It states that the castle is engraved in the "La Méthode Nouvelle" based on the drawings of John Harris "The Artist and the County House." It is believed that each of the drawing corresponds to the seven Renishaw drawings for engraving of Bolsover as backcloth to Newcastle on horseback demonstrations. It is expressed that the point of view of the drawing was lowered to show the Newcastle below the south front of the castle in the engraved portion. Accordingly, the shading of the drawing misinterprets the existing hall and facade of the castle.

Abstract

The article features the development of Jepson Binns organ and other organs at the Eye Parish Church in Suffolk, England. It notes that the church has rarely been without an organ since the 16th century. It accounts that John Harris and John Byfield Snr constructed an organ for the church in 1739. Walker & Sons install an organ in its North Choir Aisle in 1869. Some tonal changes and additions to the church are also presented.
