Abstract

The article discusses research on improvements in the provision of effective acute stroke care between 1995 and 2009, based on the data recorded by the South London Stroke Register in England. Trends in the receipt of acute care interventions have been examined. Hospital admission rates, brain imaging, and thrombolysis data gathered over the study period are reported. Significant inequalities in the provision of care have been observed.
