The article offers information on Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT), a radical splinter organization from the Muslim Brotherhood founded by the jurist Sheikh Taqiuddin an Nabhani from Al-Azhar University in Egypt, which can amplify the strategic threat to coalition forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is stated that HuT members consider themselves as the political Islamism vanguards and the group's level of support can be seen during rallies, conferences and special events. It notes their strong commitment to the destruction and subversion of democracy and their tactics, including the failed coup attempts, suicide bombings and assassination plans. It also mentions the splintering process within the group when a group of radicals following Sheikh Omar Bakri broke away and formed Al-Muhajiroun.
