CORRUPT practices in elections ,EGYPTIAN politics & government - Abstract
The article focuses on the treatment of the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest opposition group of Egypt, by the Egyptian government. The reasons for the Brotherhood's failure to win a single seat in the elections held on June 11, 2007 to Egypt's Shura Council are discussed. It is noted that the Egyptian Government had deployed various illegal means to win the elections. An overview of some laws passed by the government to remove the Brotherhood from the political scenario is also mentioned.
