The predictors of post thyroidectomy complications were advanced age >= 60 years (P= 0.003*), prior thyroid surgery (P < 0.001*), and neck dissection with total thyroidectomy (P= 0.01*) by univariate analysis. B Conclusions: b B Conclusions: b Neck dissection with total thyroidectomy is safe with acceptable surgical outcome, hypocalcaemia is the most frequent post thyroidectomy complications, and advanced age and prior thyroid surgery are the only significant predictors for complications.
