The article describes the media landscape in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe is a part of the world where the last couple of decades have re-drawn maps, restructured economies, rewritten histories and reformulated cultural ideals, and thus have transformed both the physical and the symbolic environment. Thus, the processes of transformations in the post-Soviet countries open for some interesting studies that can contribute with new perspectives for historically oriented media studies.
