Abstract

This essay traces the development of Ford Motor Co.'s V8 engine. The development of the engine started in a laboratory in Detroit, Michigan in earnest towards the end of 1931 and continued throughout the Christmas season without any break. On February 11, 1932, an announcement on the plan of Ford Motor to release a V8 car was published in the "Detroit News." The car was launched on March 10, 1932.
