Abstract

The article presents macrofossil analyses of samples from Målø in Sjælland, Denmark in 2010 that describe a new Middle Pleistocene interglacial sequence. The lithostratigraphy, palaeoecology and palaeoclimate are said to reveal that several of the species recovered are warmth-demanding, indicating a more continental climate with summer temperatures higher than those in Denmark today. Borysthenia naticina is biostratigraphically deemed the most important species found.
