Reports on the creation of Reverse Osmosis membrane systems to convert seawater to fresh water without energy-intensive evaporators in Lewes, Delaware. Capacity of the system to operate at pressures exceeding the osmotic gradient; Specification that the shaft and swashplate unit be ground and polished to further eliminate friction; Feature of the system with reduced airborne noise that represents another advantage of the non-metallic pump construction.
