Abstract

The article offers information on the development of an enantioselective synthetic approach to 2,3- disubstituted indoles by University of Delaware Professor Joseph M. Fox and his team in Newark. It notes that a range of substituted indoles have been obtained through dirhodium(II) tetrakis, high yield and enantioselectivities. Moreover, a ylide intermediate with oxocarbenium character has been found via density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
