Abstract

The article discusses Reverend Jesse L. Jackson's diplomatic trip to Damascus, Syria to negotiate a release of prisoners being held in Syria and Lebanon. Jackson met with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faysal Miqdad and Khaled Meshaal, leader of Hamas. Jackson's mission also attempted to solidify and expand the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, and addressed humanitarian concerns.
