The article discusses the issues involving the presentation of female delinquency in Cuba using photographs and statistics by Cuban criminologist Israel Castellanos. It explains that institutions were able to claim greater objectivity and neutrality in representation of criminals or delinquents and expand the capacity for surveillance, repression and control, however, it does not do justice to the multiple relationship among text, images and numbers.
