The Brewery Hatuey takes more than 94 years of exploitation contributing to the contamination of the river Yarayó and the bay of Santiago from Cuba. In the 2020 due to the pandemic were carried out modifications in the products to elaborate what influenced in that the DBO5 overcame in 4,52 times and the DQO in 6,88 times the permissible maximum limits settled down by the normative Cuban for to pour of residual waters to terrestrial waters and the sewer system. It was evidenced that the concentration of heavy metals, electric conductivity, as well as the nitrogen content and match stayed inside that settled down by to pour norm and that although the norm settles down that it should not exist suspended solids superior values they are reported to the 100 mg/L. A parameter that overcomes in 7,4 times what indicates the Cuban norm is the fats and oils, for what intends the installation of a float associated to the technological proposal of treatment that exists for this industry. The epiphytic lichen flora in the semi-deciduous forest of Monte Barranca, Santiago de Cuba differs between the edge and interior due to differences in light levels. Four transects of 50 m were establish: two on the edge and two on the interior. Sixty randomly-chosen trees were surveyed, fifteen trees in each transect. The trees were sampled from the ground to two meters in height. Seventy-four corticolous lichen species were recorded, including 51 newly recorded for Cuba. Reproductive strategies were as varied for those lichens on the edge of the forest as for those in the interior, but most of the species were reproducing sexually. Porina distans, a generalist species, is highly adapted to the Monte Barranca semi-deciduous forest. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

El artículo discurre sobre el estado actual del ambiente de las costas de Cuba. Los autores comentan sobre el impacto ambiental de las estructuras de hormigón armado en estas regiones. También se considera la relación de los áridos calizos en la durabilidad del hormigón armado.
