The article discusses a study that examined the prevalence of an anatomic variant of the iliopsoas tendon at the level of the anterior hip joint in a large number of cadaveric hip specimens. Fifty-three non-matched, fresh-frozen, cadaveric hemipelvis specimens were used. A difference was seen between the width of the psoas major tendon and any other additional tendons. It is said that the study results may further clarify the cause of internal snapping hip syndrome.
