Introduction. Textiles sector has a special place among tyhose that have a high environmental impact. Textile dyes are very persistent in the environment and the classic elimination methods are not useful in this case given the fact that partial oxidations or reductions can generate very toxic secondary products. Sensitized photo degradation with TiO2 or FeCl3, is technique that can be used as a depuration system or as a tertiary process, specially in industrial waste's treatment. Objective. To evaluate the interaction of TiO2 and FeCl3, with H2O2 from textile liquid wastes by the use of artificial light through response surfaces. Materials and methods. A 60 Hz MIGHTY PURE ultra-violet light lamp was used with a 41 cm × 25,5 cm × 20 glass bowl with 15 L of sample. This system is supplemented with a pump that produces a 0,047 L/s flow. Results. A 100% degradation was obtained, and so a 70.1% mineralization percentage in the test in which a 60 mg/L FeCl3 and 1.0 mL/L of H2O2 dose was used. Conclusion. FeCl3 ddegrades and mineralizes water faster than H2O2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
