Objectives: To establish the unfortunate influences of a violent, macho and corrupt environment on the patient (J), approximately forty years old, who, together with her family, was subjected to threats and persecution which forced them to move. Methodology: Psychoanalytic treatment of one year in psychoanalysis, four sessions a week and with the need to move since she worked in her city and had to travel every week to attend the sessions. Psychoanalysis focused on the countertransferential difficulties experienced. Results and Conclusions: Through the psychoanalytic work, after six months the emotional state and nightmares improved and the beginning of reparative functioning was detected in the oneiric material. Some conclusions were reached about aspects that influence violence in Colombia: machismo, fanaticism and corruption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
