Atherosclerosis is the leading cause of numerous cardiovascular diseases with a high mortality rate. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), RNA molecules that do not encode proteins in human genome transcripts, are known to play crucial roles in various physiological and pathological processes. Recently, researches on the regulation of atherosclerosis by ncRNAs, mainly including microRNAs, long noncoding RNAs, and circular RNAs, have gradually become a hot topic. Traditional Chinese medicine has been proved to be effective in treating cardiovascular diseases in China for a long time, and its active monomers have been found to target a variety of atherosclerosis-related ncRNAs. These active monomers of traditional Chinese medicine hold great potential as drugs for the treatment of atherosclerosis. Here, we summarized current advancement of the molecular pathways by which ncRNAs regulate atherosclerosis and mainly highlighted the mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine monomers in regulating atherosclerosis through targeting ncRNAs. Background: Osteosarcoma is a common bone sarcoma that occurs in childhood and adolescence. Although research on non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) of osteosarcoma has been developed rapidly in recent years, a specific bibliometric analysis on this topic has not yet been performed. The bibliometric analysis aims to summarize knowledge atlas, research hotspots, and emerging trends and to provide researchers with new perspectives in further studies. Methods: All publications regarding ncRNAs of osteosarcoma published from 2000 to 2021 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Quantitative indicators including the number of publications and citations, Hindex, and journal citation reports were analyzed by using Excel 2019 and R software. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze the cooperation among countries/institutions/journals/authors and the co-occurrence of keywords, keywords bursts, and references. Results: A total of 3206 publications were extracted. A significant growth trend in the annual number of publications over the past 22 years is revealed (R2 = 0.999). The most prolific country and institution were China (2260) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (134), respectively. Professors Wang W and Liu W contributed the most to this field. The keywords were stratified into six clusters: Cluster 1 (apoptosis and growth), Cluster 2 (cancer and progression), Cluster 3 (microRNAs and downregulation), Cluster 4 (genes and differentiation), Cluster 5 (expression and biological functions), and Cluster 6 (metastasis). The long non-coding RNAs and circular RNAs have been considered as an important research hotspot in the near future. Conclusion: This study offers a scientific perspective on ncRNAs of osteosarcoma and provides researchers with valuable information to understand the knowledge structure and to identify emerging trends in this field. Trionyx sinensis Hemorrhagic Syndrome Virus (TSHSV), the first aquatic arterivirus identified in China, causes severe mortality to T. sinensis. In this study, we sought to determine the functions of T. sinensis mRNAs and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) that were differentially expressed (DE) over different periods of TSHSV infection of T. sinensis lung. We used RT-qPCR to validate the sequencing results of select RNAs, confirming their reliable and referable nature. Gene Ontology (GO) annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis were used to predict multiple biological functions and signaling pathways in various comparison groups (1-day versus mock, 3-day versus 1-day, and 5-day versus 3-day). Multiple types of differentially expressed RNA, including mRNA, lncRNA, circRNA, and miRNA, were associated with cardiac dysfunction, coagulation abnormalities, and arachidonic acid metabolism at day 1. Pre-inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory factors such as PLA2G4A , cPLA2, γ-GGT1 , TNFRSF14 , TCP11L2 , PTER CYP2J2 and LTC4S, were noticeably regulated at the same time. On day 3, multiple GO terms and KEGG pathways were implicated, including those related to virus defense, apoptosis, pyroptosis, and inflammatory response. Notably, key genes such as RSAD2 , TRIM39 , STAT4 , CASP1 , CASP14, MYD88 , CXCL3 , CARD11 , ZBP1 , and ROBO4 exhibited significant regulation. The lncRNAs and circRNAs that targeted the genes involved in viral recognition (TLR5), apoptosis (CARD11), pyroptosis (ZBP1), inflammatory processes (NEK7 , RASGRP4 , and SELE) and angiogenesis (ROBO4) exhibited significant regulation. Significantly regulated miRNAs were primarily linked to genes involved in apoptosis (Let-7f-3p, miR-1260a, miR-455–3p), and inflammation (miR-146a, miR-125a, miR-17a, miR-301b, and miR-30a-3p). The findings could advance our understanding of the host immunological response to TSHSV and offer new ideas for developing effective strategies to prevent infection of T. sinensis. • Whole-transcriptome responses in Trionyx sinensis infected with TSHSV were studied. • Numerous genes, miRNAs, circRNAs, and lncRNAs were responsive mainly to the infection. • These DEGs were associated with inflammatation, heart dysfunction, coagulation abnormalities and fatty acid biosynthesis.
