A process simultaneous to the expansion of capitalism on a planetary scale was the increase in pressure on natural resources and the degradation of the environment. For specialists, one of the main pillars of this harmful action is explained by the prevailing energy pattern, based on the burning of non-renewable fossil resources, strong emitters of greenhouse gases. Also, there is currently a big pressure for these increasingly scarce resources, which is partly explained by the rapid economic growth of emerging powers such as the People's Republic of China. At this point, Argentina, in its regional framework, takes on a central role, since it possesses large reserves of natural wealth, which China carefully observes when it comes to sustaining its long-standing year-onyear economic expansion. This article pays attention to the study of Argentina's projects for the development of alternative energies and how the strategic interests of the great powers, especially China, influence them.
